3 Competition Format / Format de la compétition: Following is the format and schedule of the events. Please note that this is subject to change based on the number of entries and/or unforeseen circumstances Ci-dessous, un exemple du programme et du format qui pourrait être appliqué aux évènements. EH, ED, FH, FD, SH, SD (explication en anglais): Events will be partially organized using a Swiss System for Fencing Tournaments: The Swiss System for Fencing Tournaments is designed to organize fencing events with up to 12 fencing bouts (rounds) per participant All participants are placed in one pool For the first round opponents are selected randomly If the number of participants is uneven, one of the participants will have a bye and will be granted a victory with the score of 0:0 Participants cannot be granted a bye more then once For the Round 2 and after, participants will have opponents with the same number of victories (or best possible match) Participants will not fence each other twice in the same pool The participants are ranked: first by the number of victories, then by the indicator and then by the highest number of touches scored If a participant is not able to continue fencing for any reason, he/she will still remain in the pool and his/her future opponents will be granted victories with the score of 1:0 Depending on the event timing, participants will possibly have shorter breaks between the bouts or no break time at all National Coaches reserve the rights to change the number of bouts per participant in a Swiss System Event at their discretion More general reading on Swiss System for Tournaments at:

Sept. 29 / Jour 1 Sam. 29 sept: Event 1 6 x 5 hit bouts in the Swiss System Pool with Junior and Cadet athletes are in the same pool Event 2 5 x 15 hit bouts in the Swiss System Pool with Junior and Cadet athletes are in the same pool The placements of the Cadet athletes in Event 1 and Event 2 are summarized to create a Preliminary Cadet Ranking. In case of a tie, athletes with the higher placement in the Event 2 will have a priority / Le Classement Préliminaire Cadet sera effectué avec l addition des résultats lors des deux évènements (Event1 + Event 2). En cas d égalité, l athlète le plus haut classé à l évènement 2 aura la priorité. Top 8 Cadet athletes from the Preliminary Cadet Ranking are placed in a 15- hit DE Cadet Super Final with no bouts for the 3 rd place or for places 5-8 th / Le top 8 cadets sera placé dans un tableau d élimination directe (TED) de 15 touches. Il n y a pas de match pour la troisième place ni de matchs entre le 5ème et le 8ème. The Final Cadet Tournament ranking will be the 8 athletes participated in the Cadet Super Final in the order they finished the Final, followed by the rest of the participants from the Preliminary Cadet Ranking / Le classement final cadet sera compose en priorité par le top 8 ayant participé au TED, suivi par le reste des participants du Classement Préliminaire cadet Day 2 Sun. Sept. 30 / Jour 2 Dim. 30 sept: Event 3 Cadet & Junior Regular Round Robin Pools of 6/7 fencers; seeding is based on the Day 1 combined Event 1 and Event 2 results. The placements in Event 1 (Day 1), Event 2 (Day 1) and Event 3 (Ranking after pools on Day 2) are summarized to create a Preliminary Junior Ranking. In case of a tie, athletes with the higher placement in the Event 2 (Day 1) will have a priority. Top 32 athletes from the Preliminary Junior Ranking are placed in a 15-hit DE tableau with no bout for the 3rd place. The Final Junior Tournament ranking will be the top 4 placements of the Junior 15-hit DE tableau, followed by the rest of the participants from the Preliminary Junior Ranking

5 Évènement 3 Cadet & Juniors Tour de poule de 6 ou 7 tireurs - Le classement est basé sur les résultats combinés de l évènement 1 et de l évènement 2 Le placement à l évènement 1 (jour 1), celui à l évènement 2 (jour 1) et à l évènement 3 (classement après les poules du jour 2) permettront de créer un Classement Préliminaire Junior. En cas d égalité, les athlètes avec le plus haut classement à l évènement 2 (jour 1) auront la priorité. Le top 32 du Classement Préliminaire Junior seront placés dans un TED en 15 touches sans match pour la 3 ème place. Le Classement final junior sera établi avec les 4 premiers du TED suivi par le reste des athlètes issus du Classement Préliminaire Junior. HP Selection Points Awarded \ Attribution des Point HP : As per 2018/19 Junior and Cadet National Booklet athletes will be awarded 100% of HP points designated for Canadian events as outlined in Chart 4 of the booklet.
