13 Geing Sared en-us + Waer sofening sysem / special sal Your waer hardness level direcly impacs your dishwasher s performance. Hard waer will increase spoing and reduce deergen performance. Some dishwasher models are equipped wih a waer sofener ha uses a special sal o adjus he waer hardness o obain opimal performance. The dishwasher sal is added o he sal chamber 1Z locaed under he lower dishwasher rack. The amoun of sal ha is dispensed is based on your home waer harness. The home waer hardness can be deermined by using he waer hardness es srip included in your manual se (or from your local hardware sore). The dishwasher waer sofener seing mus be adjused o mach your waer hardness. Insrucions for use of included Waer Hardness Tes Srip Only use sal designed for auomaic dishwashers. Never use household waer sofener sal or able sal. Follow he insrucions below for he included es srip. (If purchasing a differen es srip, follow manufacurers insrucions). 1. Run he waer a he kichen sink for 5 minues. 2. Dip he end of he es srip wih he colored squares ino he ap waer for 1 second and shake off excess waer. 3. Required seing can be found in he waer hardness able. 3. Open he door. 4. Swich on On/Off swich (. 5. Hold down funcion key # and press Sar buon P unil he display 8 indicaes :x (x can be any number). 6. Release boh buons. The indicaor of funcion key # flashes and he display 8 indicaes :. Press funcion key 3 o selec he desired seing. 7. Save he seleced seing by pressing he Sar buon P. The chosen seing has now been sored. Using special dishwasher sal As soon as he low sal indicaor lighs up on he digial display 8, sal should be opped off. Always refill wih special sal immediaely before swiching on he appliance. This ensures ha overrun special sal soluion is immediaely washed ou and does no corrode he rinsing ub. NOTICE Deergen will desroy he waer sofening sysem! Never pour deergen ino he sal dispenser. Top off he sal as follows: 1. Undo he screw plug on he dispenser 1Z. 2. Fill he dispenser wih waer (required only when swiching on he appliance for he firs ime). 3. Using deergens wih sal componen nenopmo c If combined deergens wih a sal componen are used, special sal can usually be omied up o a waer hardness of 21 dh (37 fh, 26 Clarke, 3.7 mmol/l). If he waer hardness is over 21 dh, sal mus be used. Swiching off low sal indicaor / waer sofening sysem If he use of combined deergens wih a sal componen impairs he low sal indicaor on he digial display 8, he low sal indicaor can be swiched off. 15 i A e s n i R Rinse Aid en-us, Rinse Aid dto achieve proper drying, always use a liquid rinse aid, even if your deergen conains a rinse aid or drying addiive. Noe: The dishwasher indicaes low rinse aid by urning on he Rinse Aid indicaor on he display 8. If his indicaor lighs up, you need o refill he rinse aid dispenser 9* by following he direcions below. Adding rinse aid NOTICE To avoid oversudsing or clogging, do no overfill he rinse aid dispenser 9*. Wipe up any spills wih a damp cloh. 1. Open he rinse aid dispenser 9* by pressing on he lach of he lid and pull i open. 2. Add liquid rinse aid o he dispenser 9* unil i is full. Do no overfill. 3. Close he lid. Lid mus be fully closed unil i clicks in order o seal. 4. Wipe up any excess rinse aid ha may have puddled when he dispenser reservoir is full. Some iems are no dishwasher-safe and should be hand washed; ohers require special loading. Recommended Aluminum China, Crysal, Soneware Glass Non-sick Coaings Plasics Sainless Seel, Serling Silver and Silver Plaes Colored anodized aluminum may fade over ime. Minerals in your waer may cause he aluminum o darken or spo. This can usually be removed wih a soap-filled seel wool pad. Some hand-pained uensils may discolor, fade or spo. Hand wash hese uensils. NOTICE To avoid dishwasher damage: Do no use hand dishwashing producs in your dishwasher. Do no use oo much deergen if your waer is sof. Using oo much deergen wih sof waer may cause eching in glassware and fine china. This dishwasher uses less waer han mos, herefore, less deergen is required. Wih sof waer, 1 ablespoon (15 ml) of deergen will clean mos loads. The deergen dispenser cup has lines ha measure deergen o 1 ablespoon (15 ml) and 1.75 ablespoons (25 ml). 3 ablespoons (45 ml) of deergen will compleely fill he deergen dispenser. Noe: If you do no know he hardness of your waer supply, use 15 ml of deergen. Increase he amoun if necessary o he leas amoun required o ge your kichenware clean. Noe: Do no place deergen abs or uensils in he deergen ab ray 1B. Place abs or oher deergen forms direcly in he deergen dispenser Pour deergen ino he dry deergen dispenser 92 only. Add deergen. Do no overfill he deergen dispenser. Dosage: see manufacurer s insrucions on he packaging. 3. Close he lid by placing he finger on he lid as shown. Slide he lid closed and press down firmly unil i clicks. When using deergen abs, lay hem such ha hey do no come in conac wih he cover, inser a deergen ab fla, no on is side. The deergen dispenser will open auomaically a he ideal ime for he se cycle. The powder or liquid deergen is disribued in he appliance and is dissolved, deergen abs will fall ino he deergen ab ray 1B where i dissolves during he cycle. Tip: If he dishware is only lighly soiled, slighly less han he indicaed amoun of deergen is usually adequae. 25

De l eau dure augmenera les aches sur la vaisselle e réduira l effecacié du déergen. Cerains modèles de lave-vaisselles comprennen un adoucisseur d eau qui emploie un sel spécial pour ajuser la dureé de l eau afin d obenir un rendemen opimal. Le sel es ajoué dans le comparimen à sel 1Z siué sous le panier inférieur du lave-vaisselle. La quanié de sel ajouée dépend de la dureé de l eau à vore domicile. La dureé de l eau à vore domicile peu êre mesurée à l aide de la bandelee de es de dureé de l eau incluse dans vore ensemble de manuel (ou offere dans une quincaillerie de vore région). Le réglage d adoucissemen de l eau du lave-vaisselle doi êre ajusé en foncion de la dureé de vore eau. Insrucions d'uilisaion de la bandelee d'analyse de la dureé de l'eau comprise Uilisez uniquemen du sel conçu pour les lave-vaisselles auomaiques. N'uilisez jamais de sel de able ou de sel adoucisseur ménager. Suivez les insrucions ci-dessous pour la bandelee d'anlayse comprise. (Si vous uilisez une aure bandelee, suivez les insrucions de son fabrican.) 1. Faies couler l'eau du robine de la cuisine pendan 5 minues. 2. Trempez l'exrémié de la bandelee avec les carrés de couleur dans l'eau du robine pendan 1 seconde, puis secouez-la doucemen pour en enlever l'excès d'eau. 3.
