L intérêt porté à ce sujet repose sur une conviction : le monde économique et financier de demain sera fortement marqué par l absolue nécessité d un développement plus durable. The selection of this topic is based on the firm belief that sustainable development will be an absolute priority for tomorrow s economic and financial world. With more than 302 billion of assets under management and 610 employees* based in Paris, Natixis Asset Management is the European expert of Natixis Global Asset Management. It offers institutional investors, companies, distributors and banking networks a diversified range of investment expertise in France and internationally via the Natixis Global Associates distribution platform. As a major player in responsible investment in Europe, Natixis Asset Management chose, almost two years ago, to develop an investment strategy addressing the impact of climate change. This led to the creation of an innovative fund and an Climate Change Scientific Committee, chaired by Carlos Joly and comprising a team of experts who enlighten the Natixis Asset Management teams on their investment decisions in this area. He participated in the IPCC (1) in His research covers 3 areas: study of the economic consequences of natural disasters; assessment of the socioeconomic impacts of climate change; design of public or private strategies for adaptation to climate change. Stephane Hallegatte est chercheur à l Ecole Nationale de la Météorologie, Météo-France et au CIRED (Centre International de Recherche sur l Environnement et le Développement). En 2007, il participe au GIEC (2). Ses recherches couvrent 3 domaines : les conséquences économiques des catastrophes naturelles, l évaluation des impacts socio-économiques du changement climatique et la conception de stratégies publiques ou privées d adaptation au changement climatique. Director of the Division of Technology, Industry and Economics (DTIE), UNEP Sylvie Lemmet Directrice de la Division Technologie, Industrie et Economie (DTIE), UNEP Sylvie Lemmet has held a series of senior management positions such as Chief Financial Officer and, later, member of the Executive Board of Médecins sans Frontières. As a senior official with The World Bank, Sylvie Lemmet was responsible for large scale projects and initiatives in the area of environment and sustainable development. She has most recently played a very active role in improving the public sector efficiency in France. C O M M O D E R A T O R Climate policy expert, Futur Facteur 4, IPCC Pierre Radanne Expert en politiques énergétiques, Futur Facteur 4, GIEC Pierre Radanne is chairman of the 4D association (debates for the sustainable development) and a founder of the company Futur Facteur 4, which he formed in 2004 and which combines activities of consulting, research, training and communication on energy management, combating climate change and sustainable development. Pierre Radanne has served as chairman of the ADEME (the French Environment and Energy Management Agency) from 1998 to Carlos Joly is the co-founder and was the first chairman of UNEP-FI (3). He co-chaired the Experts Group which drew up the UN Principles for Responsible Investment. Carlos Joly was the founder and CEO of MiljøInvest AS, which developed a range of SRI funds; and senior vice president of Storebrand in Norway, where he launched the Storebrand Environment Fund. He published a large number of research and press articles on the subject of responsible investment and the environment. In 2010, he published From climate change to investment strategy. Pierre Radanne est président de l association 4D (Dossiers et Débats pour le Développement Durable). Director of Sustainable Development, greenbuilding expert, CDC Blaise Desbordes Directeur du Développement Durable, CDC Blaise Desbordes has specialized in public and corporate sustainable development policies for around 15 years and in particular established the Eco-District in France. Blaise Desbordes takes part in several market working groups, particularly within the UNEP-FI (1), where he cochairs the Responsible Property group. He has participated in the Town Planning group 9 of the Grenelle de l Environnement forum. He is an administrator of Effinergie and AEW Europe. Blaise Desbordes est spécialisé en politiques de développement durable publiques et d entreprises depuis 15 ans, et a notamment mis en place le dispositif Eco Quartiers en France. Il participe à plusieurs groupes de travail, notamment au sein de l UNEP-FI (1) où il copréside le groupe Immobilier Responsable. Il a participé au Grenelle de l Environnement (groupe 9 Urbanisme ). Il est administrateur d Effinergie et d AEW Europe. Vice President Sustainability and Shared Value Creation, Danone Bernard Giraud Vice President Sustainability and Shared Value Creation, Groupe Danone Bernard Giraud held various functions as general manager in the field of regional economic development, then as international director of the Marine Division at US group Johnson Worldwide. In 1994, he was appointed general manager, North America for the Invest in France Agency (DATAR). He joined Danone in 1998 as director Danone Initiatives, and was appointed director, sustainable development and social responsibility in Since 2009, Bernard Giraud is vice president Sustainability and Shared Value Creation. Bernard Giraud a occupé plusieurs fonctions en qualité de directeur général dans le domaine du développement économique régional, puis a été directeur international de la Division Maritime du groupe américain Johnson Worldwide. He also assures dialogue with the Group s various stakeholders on environmental issues as well as communication to socially responsible investors and rating agencies on the Group s performance. Prior to this Paul Rowsome was environmental affairs manager with Philips Consumer Communications. Suzanne Sénellart is co-portfolio manager of Impact Funds Climate Change and senior portfolio manager at Natixis Asset Management within the Equities department, where she is responsible of the Defensive sector team. Suzanne Sénellart began her career in 1985 with Crédit du Nord as a capital manager. She joined Paluel-Marmont Banque in 1989, in charge of institutional portfolios. She joined Natexis Asset Management in 1999 and became European equities manager in charge of the Cycléo Défensif fund. Hugh Wheelan was Paris Correspondent and fund management editor at Financial News. Formerly he was deputy editor of Investment & Pensions Europe (IPE) and editor of IPE Real Estate. He won the respected Aon Consulting award for European Pensions and Investment Journalist of the Year in He was also a political and economic advisor to Irene Khan, secretary general of Amnesty International. Hugh Wheelan has written on sustainability and finance issues for newspapers including The Financial Times and The Observer. Aled Jones has worked in the investment industry since 2001 on both the fund management and asset owner side. From 1994 to 1998, he was a fixed income portfolio manager with HSBC Midland Bank. He joined IXIS Asset Management in 1999 as a financial engineer and was nominated director of quantitative engineering & research, then he took in charge the economic research & strategy department. Jean-Pierre Sicard managed since the beginning of 2009, the Caisse des Dépôts climate department that became CDC Climat in He was previously sustainable development director at Caisse des Dépôts, and he created Novethic, a research center on sustainable development, corporate responsibility and, responsible investment for which he is currently president. He assumed positions in strategic foresight at Caisse des Dépôts and was consultant in BIPE, a European consulting firm, provider of forward-looking economic analyses. He is also MetNext s vice-chairman. Liam Kennedy has over 10 years experience as a financial journalist and editor, specialising in the field of institutional investment and pension funds. In that time he has met, interviewed and profiled countless senior executives at European and global pension plans, asset management companies and consultancies, etc. Prior to joining IPE in February 2007 he spent nearly 7 years at the Financial Times group in London, where he worked as a specialist editor and writer. Previously, he spent 12 years in General Electric where he was head of GE Energy Financial Services for France, Spain and Italy ( 350 millions of investment in the renewable energy sector). He has also held several finance and M&A management positions in GE Oil&Gas and GE Healthcare. Prior to that, Raphael Lance worked at Crédit Lyonnais for 5 years in project and asset finance. Philippe Zaouati began his career at Banque Internationale de Placement in 1990 as quant analyst. From 1993 to 1996, he worked as financial engineer at CDC Gestion before joining Sogéposte as product manager. In 1999, he joined Crédit Agricole Asset Management where he held the positions of head of product marketing, CEO of CAAM Luxembourg, head of client service and then head of marketing of Groupe CAAM. He was also chairman of Fund Channel. In 2007, he became head of business development and member of the Executive Committee of Natixis Asset Management. In 2009, Philippe Zaouati published Investir Responsable (Investing responsibly).
