2 - Sur la carte postale d Australie : Les pays suivants : Royaume Uni et Irlande/ Japon/ Etats-Unis/ Europe/ Nouvelle-Zélande/ Asie du Sud-est, sont représentés à l échelle de l Australie. - Sur la carte de Londres : la relève de la garde devant Buckingham, Big Ben et le palais de Westminster, le Parlement ; la colonne de Nelson, Trafalgar Square. - Sur la carte de Manhattan : les gratte-ciel, la rivière de l Hudson, à l aube. Le candidat pourra - décrire d abord ce qu il voit puis s exprimer librement en empruntant le type de discours de son choix (description, récit, explication, etc.) ; - comparer les pays par leur taille, leur climat, les capitales, leur mode de vie, leurs traditions, etc. - raconter un voyage effectué ou virtuel dans l un de ces pays, des échanges éventuels de son établissement avec un pays anglophone - exposer un point de vue sur un/des aspects culturels de ces pays. - distinguer peut-être le message plus informatif et argumentatif de la première carte, plus descriptif de la seconde, plus poétique de la troisième. - parler de ce type de courrier : la carte postale par rapport au courrier informatique, ou au téléphone ; l intérêt, quand on est loin, de ce genre d écrit. L interrogateur veillera, dans la partie 1 de l épreuve, à ne pas interrompre le discours en continu du candidat. Dans la partie 2, il orientera le candidat par des questions portant sur ses goûts, ses expériences liées aux voyages, visant les références historiques, géographiques technologiques, artistiques des pays évoqués, afin d évaluer la spontanéité de l expression mais aussi la compétence à mobiliser les savoirs acquis. Intérêt du support : Documents à la fois simples et riche permettant à tout candidat d évoquer ses goûts pour l évasion par le voyage, de parler du socle commun de connaissances acquises depuis ses premiers contacts avec la culture des pays de langue anglaise, même à travers ses clichés touristiques. Document synthétisant le monde anglo-saxon Limites du support : pas de limites car pas de nécessité de faire une analyse approfondie des cartes postales pour pouvoir s exprimer, ne serait-ce qu au niveau descriptif, sur ce genre de support très «ouvert».

It is situated in the southern hemisphere. On the London postcard, there is a photo of the changing of the guard in front of Buckingham Palace where the royal family lives. There is a picture of Big Ben and Westminster with the Houses of Parliament and on the third one is Trafalgar Square with Nelson's column (which is one of the most famous monuments in this city). As for Manhattan, the photo represents the skyline of skyscrapers taken from the Hudson river. It is one of the five districts of New York city. Manhattan is famous for various places like Time Square, 5th avenue, Ground Zero, Central Park, The Empire State Building. 2 ou 3 pts. 4 rapport à la dimension culturelle ou professionnelle du document. I would like to visit Australia because I don't know much about it. It's enormous and I think that it's a land of opportunities. I believe that it would be easy to find a job there, to work in the middle of nowhere (in deserts), to meet Aborigines and to discover a different culture; Canberra is the capital city, Sydney is the largest one. I have already travelled to London with my class. I found that there were many places to visit and so many things to do. I visited the British museum, the Tate Gallery and I did some shopping at Harrods. I stayed with a family and we became friends. It was a great experience. Manhattan would be my favourite destination because I dream of going there. I have discovered this place through cinema and I fell in love with it. I would be happy to get a visa and stay there for a while. My greatest desire is to work there, go to different places and meet people. The USA is my ultimate destination.
