3 Welcome / Bienvenue Dear Colleagues: I am so very pleased to welcome you to CSAE Ottawa-Gatineau s 2016 Tête-à-Tête. Tête-à-Tête is the premier event for association professionals in Ottawa-Gatineau and surrounding areas to meet with more than 160 businesses spanning from sea to sea that support Canadian associations with the goods and services to effectively provide services and value to our members. Last year was our 25 th Anniversary of this event. I am so proud to be a member of this Chapter and to know that Tête-à-Tête brings such value to our members that we re able to celebrate our 26 th year. Our Special Events Committee, under the leadership of Dennis Turpin and Heather Cleat, work very hard to deliver an outstanding event and this year will be no different. Our keynote breakfast speaker this year is Clara Hughes. While she likely does not need any introduction, Clara is a six-time Canadian Olympic medalist in cycling and speed skating and is the only Canadian athlete in history to win multiple medals in both Summer and Winter Games. Clara s talk inspires people toward success in all areas of their lives, from how she believes sports can change lives to her struggle with depression, and exploring the idea that each of us can overcome challenges to become the champions we re meant to be. Thank you to Ottawa Tourism and the Shaw Centre for their generosity in sponsoring this event. Following the success of last year s program, we are excited to once again bring a keynote speaker to our tradeshow lunch. Sincere thanks to Speakers Spotlight for sponsoring this year s lunch keynote speaker, Dennis Moseley-Williams. Dennis, is an author, business consultant and expert on the experience economy. Dennis will share his thoughts and expertise with us, as he has with thousands of audiences across North America, on how to create inspiring enterprises that foster transformative experiences for clients, customers and employees. Tête-à-Tête est l activité par excellence pour les professionnels du secteur associatif de la région d Ottawa et de Gatineau. C est le lieu de rencontre avec les représentants de plus de 160 entreprises présentes d un océan à l autre pour offrir les biens et les services qui permettent aux associations canadiennes de mieux servir leurs membres et de leur offrir un contenu de valeur. L année dernière marquait le 25 e Anniversaire de cette activité bien spéciale. Je suis tellement fière d être membre de notre section, sachant la valeur immense de Tête-à-Tête pour nos membres, au point où nous nous apprêtons à célébrer la 26 e année de notre activité. Notre Comité des activités spéciales, qui travaille si fort sous la direction de Dennis Turpin et de Heather Cleat pour mettre sur pied une exposition exceptionnelle, a encore relevé le défi avec brio cette année. Notre conférencière au petit déjeuner cette année est Clara Hughes. Qui ne la connaît pas? Rappelons seulement que Clara est six fois médaillée olympique en cyclisme et en patinage de vitesse sur glace et qu elle est la seule athlète canadienne de l histoire à avoir remporté plus d une médaille aux Jeux olympiques d été et à ceux d hiver. Les causeries de Clara inspirent les gens à réussir dans tous les aspects de leurs vies; elle explique comment elle croit que les sports peuvent changer nos vies; elle parle aussi de sa lutte contre la dépression et illustre l idée que nous pouvons tous et toutes surmonter nos difficultés pour devenir les champions et les championnes que nous sommes censés être. Merci à Tourisme Ottawa et au Centre Shaw d avoir si généreusement commandité cette activité. Fort du succès du programme de l an dernier, nous sommes très heureux de vous présenter à nouveau un conférencier à notre déjeuner de l exposition. Dennis, est auteur, expert-conseil en affaires et en économie de l expérience.
