Il est vrai que ces langues nécessitent une approche différente et une motivation des élèves qu il n est pas toujours facile à mettre en œuvre. Cependant, ces langues suscitent l intérêt de certains élèves et le nombre d inscrits ne cesse d augmenter. Transcript Sky News reporter, Emma Birchley: It s not what you d expect in a remote corner of Norfolk, eight- and nine-year-olds telling the tale of a Roman birthday party in Latin. The subject s also being taught to older children down the road in North Walsham. In fact, twenty schools in the county are involved, state not private, with pupils from all backgrounds. And there s a push to replicate what s happening here across the country. It s a view shared by the Department for Education, all seven-year-olds will learn a language from September, and Latin and ancient Greek are included as options. But the only way these schools have been able to offer Latin is with grants from the charity Classics For All. Journalist on camera: Existing school teachers are being trained to take Latin lessons by the charity. It s the only way to quickly deal with falling numbers, as up to seventy classics teachers are retiring each year, while only twenty-five are emerging from university to replace them. Sky News reporter, Emma Birchley: The mayor of London recently pledged a quarter of a million pounds, so that children in the most deprived parts of the capital could learn Latin. And the subject certainly has plenty of famous backers. But there are some of those who argue the language is dead. A teacher: The vast majority of children, they find it completely removed from their lives. It s not relevant to who they are, and often it s very very difficult to present it in an energetic and enthusiastic way. Sky News reporter, Emma Birchley: But in the past two years, the number of pupils taking the subject to GCSE has risen by nine per cent. First pupil: I wasn t very keen on it because I wasn t very interested in it. But I m doing really good at it now. I like it. Second pupil: I think we should bother because it really helps with your English and it helps you learn. Sky News reporter, Emma Birchley: More grants are out there to be had. Donner comme consigne de se concentrer sur les images et essayer de trouver la thématique du reportage. ¾ Distribuer la fiche de travail et clarifier tout doute sur les énoncés des activités proposées. Relire les énoncés et reformuler ou expliquer. ¾ Deuxième visualisation du reportage en fractionné. Faire des pauses après chaque phrase pour que les élèves aient le temps de compléter les activités. Le travail peut se faire de manière individuelle. ¾ Troisième visualisation du reportage en entier afin de permettre aux élèves de vérifier leurs réponses. Correction en groupe classe.
