Bitte beachten Sie die allgemeinen Anwenderhinweise und die Lizenzvereinbarungen. Die Informationen sind nach folgenden Kriterien aufgeteilt: Die Kurzanleitung beschreibt im Wesentlichen den Anschluss des Geräts und die Installation der Software. Die Direkthilfe ist Bestandteil der Software. Sie bietet Ihnen Informationen zur Bedienung dort, wo Sie diese benötigen, und wird mit F1 aufgerufen. Die Bedienungsanleitung beschreibt die Bedienung und Konfiguration. Sie befindet sich als PDF auf der beiliegenden CD (CD-ROM/Manuals). Hier können Sie die gewünschten Inhalte am Bildschirm lesen oder ausdrucken. Dadurch, dass wir Ihnen nur die wichtigsten Informationen gedruckt liefern, verringern wir den Papierverbrauch und leisten einen Beitrag zum Umweltschutz. Vorsicht Gefahr durch zu hohe Stromaufnahme! Kurzschluss und Folgeschäden bei Anschluss defekter oder nicht dafür vorgesehener Geräte an die USB-Anschlüsse. Schließen Sie an die USB-Anschlüsse nur Geräte mit maximal 100 ma Stromaufnahme an (Low- Power-Peripheriegeräte). Bei USB-fähigem Betriebssystem sind folgende Grundfunktionen der Tastatur direkt nach dem Anschließen vorhanden: Standardtasten Nummernfeld USB-Anschlüsse (Downstream Ports) Touchpad (falls vorhanden) 2.1 Statusanzeigen Beim Anstecken der Tastatur oder Einschalten des PCs führt die Tastatur einen Selbsttest durch: Alle LEDs leuchten einmal kurz auf. Windows XP enthält bereits Standard-USB-Treiber für eine Tastatur. Windows 95/NT unterstützen kein USB. Wenn der PC einen USB-Anschluss hat, muss im BIOS des PCs der USB-Keyboard-Support bzw. USB- Legacy-Mode auf enabled gesetzt sein. Dann funktionieren die Standard-Tasten, die Sondertasten werden nicht unterstützt. Standard-USB-Treiber unter Windows 98/2000/ME installieren Voraussetzung: Bei der Installation benötigen Sie ggf. die Installations-CD für Windows. 1 Schließen Sie das Gerät an den PC an. 3

4 2 Starten Sie den PC. Das Betriebssystem erkennt das Gerät. Die Meldung Neue Hardware-Komponente gefunden erscheint auf dem Bildschirm. Das Programm Hardware Assistent wird gestartet. 3 Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche Weiter. Das Dialogfenster Suche nach Treiberdateien erscheint und informiert Sie, welche Datei benötigt wird. 4 Legen Sie die Installations-CD für Windows ein. Ggf. müssen Sie den Pfad zu den Installationsdateien eintragen. Beispiel: Bei CD-ROM-Laufwerk D und Betriebssystem Windows 98: D:\Win98. 5 Folgen Sie den Anweisungen zur Treiberinstallation auf dem Bildschirm Installation der Software Cherry Tools Aktuelle Cherry-Software im Internet Die Software wird ständig weiterentwickelt. Die aktuelle Version können Sie von Cherry über das Internet herunterladen: Software Cherry Tools unter Windows 98/ME/2000/XP installieren 1 Legen Sie die Cherry-CD in Ihr CD-ROM-Laufwerk. Die CD-ROM startet automatisch. Die Installation beginnt. 2 Wenn die CD-ROM nicht automatisch startet, doppelklicken Sie im Windows-Explorer auf das CD-ROM-Laufwerk und dann auf die Datei Start.exe. Die Installation beginnt. 3 Folgen Sie den Installationsanweisungen auf dem Bildschirm. Die Software Cherry Tools ist installiert Installation der Software Cherry OPOS/JPOS Unterstützung Wenn Sie Applikationen verwenden, die über OPOS oder JPOS auf die Tastatur oder den Magnetkarten-Leser zugreifen: Installieren Sie die Software Cherry OPOS Unterstützung oder Cherry JPOS Unterstützung. Die Funktionen des Magnetkarten-Lesers stehen Ihnen zur Verfügung. Die Software Cherry Tools braucht nicht installiert zu werden. 11 Programmierung der Tasten Die Konfiguration wird nicht in der Tastatur, sondern als Datei auf dem PC gespeichert. Installieren Sie die Software Cherry Tools. Die freie Belegung der Tasten steht Ihnen zur Verfügung. Die Programmierung der Tasten ist in der Direkthilfe der Software Cherry Tools beschrieben. 12 Magnetkarten-Leser Die Konfiguration wird nicht in der Tastatur, sondern als Datei auf dem PC gespeichert. Installieren Sie die Software Cherry Tools. Die Funktionen des Magnetkarten-Lesers stehen Ihnen zur Verfügung. Die Programmierung des Magnetkarten-Lesers ist in der Direkthilfe der Software Cherry Tools beschrieben. 4

5 13 Reinigung des Geräts 15 Allgemeiner Anwenderhinweis Vorsicht! Beschädigung durch aggressive Reinigungsmittel oder Flüssigkeit im Gerät 1 Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung keine Lösungsmittel wie Benzin oder Alkohol und keine Scheuermittel oder Scheuerschwämme. 2 Verhindern Sie, dass Flüssigkeit ins Gerät gelangt. 1 Befeuchten Sie ein weiches Tuch mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel. Beispiel: Geschirrspülmittel. 2 Entfernen Sie Verschmutzungen von der Oberfläche des Geräts. 3 Entfernen Sie ggf. Rückstände des Reinigungsmittels mit einem mit Wasser befeuchteten Tuch. 4 Trocknen Sie das Gerät mit einem fusselfreien, weichen Tuch. 14 Support Bei Problemen mit der Installation von Tastatur oder Software bieten wir Ihnen einen kostenlosen Support. Please observe the general user information and the license agreements. The information is split up based on the following criteria: The quick-start instructions essentially describe connection of the device and software installation. The direct help is a component of the software. It provides you with information on operation where you need it. It is called up via F1. The operating instructions describe operation and configuration. They are contained in a PDF file on the accompanying CD (CD-ROM/Manuals). You can read the desired content on the screen or print it out here. Caution Danger is present if the current consumption is too high! Short-circuits and subsequent damage may occur if defective or unsuitable devices are connected to the USB ports. Only devices with a maximum current consumption of 100 ma (low-power peripherals) may be connected to the USB ports. 8 2.1 Status indicators The keyboard performs a self-test when plugged in or when the PC is switched on: All of the LEDs illuminate once briefly. Dimensions (L x W x H) 470 x 220 x 64 mm 10 Installation of the software 8 Pin assignment of USB plug and port Installation consists of two steps: Installation of the standard USB drivers Installation of the Cherry Tools software 10.1 Installation of the standard USB drivers USB plug and port (downstream port) of the keyboard Pin 1 +5 V Assignment 2 DATA 3 +DATA 4 GND Windows XP or Windows 95/NT? Windows XP already contains standard USB drivers for a keyboard. Windows 95/NT do not support USB. If the PC has a USB port, USB Keyboard Support or USB Legacy Mode must be set to enabled in the BIOS of the PC. The standard keys will now function, but the special keys are not supported. Installing the USB drivers under Windows 98/2000/ME Precondition: You may need the Windows installation CD during installation. 1 Connect the device to the PC. 2 Start the PC. The operating system detects the device. The message New hardware component found is displayed on the screen. The Hardware Assistant program is started. 9

10 3 Click on the Continue button. The Locate Driver Files dialog box is displayed and informs you which file is required. 4 Place the Windows installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. You may need to enter the path of the installation files. Example: With a CD-ROM drive D and the Windows 98 operating system: D:\Win98. 5 Follow the driver installation instructions on the screen Installation of the Cherry Tools software 11 Programming the keys The configuration is not saved in the keyboard, but rather as a file on the PC. Install the Cherry Tools software. The keys can be configured freely. Programming of the keys is described in the direct help of the Cherry Tools software. 12 Magnetic card reader The configuration is not saved in the keyboard, but rather as a file on the PC. Current Cherry software on the Internet The software is continually updated. The current version can be downloaded from Cherry via the Internet: Installing "Cherry Tools" software under Windows 98/ME/2000/XP 1 Place the Cherry CD in your CD-ROM drive. The CD-ROM starts automatically. Installation begins. 2 If the CD-ROM does not start automatically, double-click the CD-ROM drive in Windows Explorer and then the Start.exe file. Installation begins. 3 Follow the installation instructions on the screen. The Cherry Tools software is installed Installation of the Cherry OPOS/ JPOS Support software If you use applications which access the keyboard or magnetic card reader via OPOS or JPOS: Install the Cherry OPOS Support or Cherry JPOS Support software. The functions of the magnetic card reader are available. You do not need to install the Cherry Tools software. Install the Cherry Tools software. The functions of the magnetic card reader are available. Programming of the magnetic card reader is described in the direct help of the Cherry Tools software. 13 Cleaning the device Caution! Damage may be caused by harsh cleaning agents or liquids in the device 1 Do not use solutions such as gasoline or alcohol and scouring agents or scouring foam for cleaning. 2 Avoid allowing fluids to enter the device. 1 Moisten a soft cloth with a mild cleaning agent. Example: Dish detergent. 2 Remove soiling from the surface of the device. 3 Remove any cleaning agent residue with a water-moistened cloth. 4 Dry off the device with a soft, lint-free cloth. 10

Les informations sont classées suivant les critères suivants: Le mode d'emploi abrégé décrit essentiellement le raccordement de l'appareil et l'installation du logiciel. L'aide en ligne fait partie intégrante du logiciel. Elle vous donne des informations sur la commande là où vous en avez besoin et vous l'appelez avec F1. Le mode d'emploi décrit la manipulation et la configuration. Il se trouve sous forme de fichier PDF sur le CD d'accompagnement (CD-ROM/ Manuals). Vous pouvez lire ce qui vous intéresse à l'écran ou l'imprimer. Attention Danger en cas d'intensité de courant trop élevée! Le branchement sur les connecteurs de sortie USB d'appareils défectueux ou non prévus à cet effet peut provoquer un court-circuit et des dommages consécutifs. Ne branchez sur les connecteurs de sortie USB que des appareils consommant au maximum 100 ma (appareils périphériques Low Power). Windows XP contient déjà des pilotes USB standard pour un clavier. Windows 95/NT ne supportent pas l'usb. Si le PC possède un connecteur USB, le support de clavier USB ou le mode USB existant dans le Bios de votre PC doit être mis sur enabled. 16 Installer les pilotes USB standard sous Windows 98/2000/ME Condition: Lors de l'installation, vous aurez peutêtre besoin du CD d'installation de Windows. 1 Raccordez l'appareil au PC. 2 Démarrez le PC. Le système d'exploitation reconnaît l'appareil. Le message Trouvé un nouveau composant matériel apparaît à l'écran. Le programme Assistant Ajout/Suppression de matériel est lancé. 3 Cliquez sur le bouton de commande Suivant. La boîte de dialogue Recherche de fichiers de pilotes s'ouvre et vous signale quel est le fichier requis. 4 Insérez le CD d'installation de Windows. Le cas échéant, vous devez introduire le chemin vers les fichiers d'installation. Exemple: Pour le lecteur de CD-ROM D et le système d'exploitation Windows 98: D:\Win98. 5 Suivez les instructions d'installation des pilotes à l'écran Installation du logiciel Cherry Tools 10.3 Installation du logiciel Support OPOS/JPOS Cherry Si vous utilisez des applications qui accèdent au clavier ou au lecteur de cartes magnétiques via OPOS ou JPOS: Installez le logiciel Support OPOS Cherry ou Support JPOS Cherry. Les fonctions du lecteur de cartes magnétiques sont à votre disposition. Le logiciel Cherry Tools ne doit pas être installé. 11 Programmation des touches La configuration n'est pas mémorisée dans le pavé numérique, mais sous forme de fichier dans le PC. Installez le logiciel Cherry Tools. La libre affectation des touches est à votre disposition. La programmation des touches est décrite dans l'aide en ligne du logiciel Cherry Tools. 12 Lecteur de cartes magnétiques Logiciel Cherry actualisé sur internet Le logiciel est en développement permanent. Vous pouvez télécharger la dernière version de Cherry via l'internet: Installation du logiciel Cherry Tools sous Windows 98/ME/2000/XP 1 Placez le CD Cherry dans votre lecteur de CD- ROM. Le CD-ROM démarre automatiquement. L'installation commence. 2 Si le CD-ROM ne démarre pas automatiquement, faites un double clic sur le lecteur de CD-ROM dans l'explorateur et ensuite sur le fichier Start.exe. L'installation commence. 3 Suivez les instructions d'installation à l'écran. Le logiciel Cherry Tools est installé. La configuration n'est pas mémorisée dans le pavé numérique, mais sous forme de fichier dans le PC. Installez le logiciel Cherry Tools. Les fonctions du lecteur de cartes magnétiques sont à votre disposition. La programmation du lecteur de cartes magnétiques est décrite dans l'aide en ligne du logiciel Cherry Tools. 16

17 13 Nettoyage de l'appareil 15 Généralités Attention! Détérioration en cas d'utilisation de produits de nettoyage agressifs ou de pénétration de liquide dans l'appareil 1 Pour le nettoyage, n'utilisez pas de solvants tels que l'essence ou l'alcool ni aucun produit ou éponge abrasif. 2 Empêchez tout liquide de pénétrer dans l'appareil. 1 Humidifiez un chiffon doux avec un produit de nettoyage doux.
