3 Renseignements importants Important Information IMPORTANT - Lire attentivement le présent guide avant l installation. - Respecter tous les codes de plomberie et de bâtiment locaux. - Assurez-vous d avoir tous les outils et matériaux nécessaires à l installation. - Il est recommandé de porter des lunettes de sécurité en tout temps lors de l installation. - Vérifier que toutes les pièces illustrées à la section Schéma des pièces de rechange sont incluses et qu aucune pièce n est endommagée. - La baignoire doit être installée de niveau sur un plancher fini également de niveau. - La structure du plancher doit pouvoir supporter un poids de 350 kg (772 lb). - Selon la température ambiante et la température de l eau dans la baignoire, le Cristalplant MD peut prendre plus ou moins d expension, il est donc recommandé de fixer la baignoire en position à l aide d un matériel souple tel que le silicone pour éviter d endommager la baignoire ou son installation. REMARQUE: - Cette baignoire est conçue pour une installation en îlot ou contre un mur. - L installation de la baignoire requiert deux personnes. - Utiliser du carton afin de protéger le fond de la baignoire lors de l installation. - Couvrir le drain afin d éviter de perdre des pièces. - Avant l installation, déballer la baignoire et vérifier qu elle est en bon état. Si un problème survient, le signaler immédiatement au vendeur. - Avant d installer la baignoire, le plancher et la plomberie doivent être complétées conformément aux instructions et aux normes locales. - Avant d appliquer du calfeutrant, nettoyer les surfaces à l aide d un linge doux et humide. Kalia se réserve le droit d apporter toute modification au design du produit et ceci sans préavis. Utiliser le manuel d installation fourni dans l emballage. Kalia n est pas responsable des problèmes causés par une installation non conforme aux directives énoncées dans le présent guide. IMPORTANT - Read this guide before proceeding with the installation. - Respect all local plumbing and building codes. - Make sure you have all the tools and materials needed for installation. - It is recommended to wear safety glasses at all times during the installation. - Make sure all the parts shown in the Service Parts Diagram section are included and in good condition. - The bathtub must be installed perfectly levelled on a finished floor that is also perfectly levelled. - The floor structure must be strong enough to support 350 kg (772 lb). - According to the water and room temperature, the Cristalplant may expand; it is recommended to set the bathtub in position using a flexible material such as silicone to avoid damaging the tub or its installation. COMMENT: - This bathtub is designed for a freestanding or against-thewall installation. - Two people are required to install the bathtub. - Use carboard to protect the bottom of the bathtub during installation. - Cover the drain of the bathtub so no parts are lost. - Before installing, take the bathtub out of the packaging and make sure it is in good shape. If there is a problem, report it immediately to the seller. - Prior to install the bathtub, flooring and plumbing work must be completed in accordance with instructions and local codes. - Clean surfaces with a soft wet cloth before applying any caulking. Kalia reserves the right to make any changes to the design of the product, without notice. Use the installation instruction supplied with the product. Au besoin, fixer des cales au plancher, vis-à-vis les zones de support pour niveler la baignoire (fig. 1). Marquer l emplacement de l alimentation d eau et du drain. Couper ou percer le plancher. Step 1 - Determine the Bathtub Location Place the bathtub in its location and make sure it is leveled. As required, fix wood shims on the floor where the bathtub supports will lie (fig. 1). 6 *Etape 2 - Installation du drain et de la baignoire (avec accès) *Avec accès : l installation permet un accès au sous-plancher, le raccordement du drain peut donc être complété par cet accès. Si l installation ne permet pas l accès au drain par le dessous de la baignoire, passer à l étape «Installation du drain et de la baignoire (sans accès)». Appliquer un joint de calfeutrant autour du drain de la baignoire et y déposer la bride du drain. Essuyer tout excédent de calfeutrant. Insérer la vis dans la bride du drain (fig. 2.1). Déposer le joint d étanchéité sur la base du drain et visser la base du drain sous la baignoire à l aide de la vis. Visser fermement à l aide d une clé hexagonale (fig. 2.1). Visser le bouchon du drain sur la bride et vérifier son fonctionnement en appuyant sur le bouchon (fig. 2.1). Assembler l écrou et le joint d étanchéité à l about (tuyau de raccordement au drain, non inclus) et visser l écrou à la base du drain (fig. 2.2 et fig. 2.3). Appliquer généreusement du calfeutrant sous la baignoire : aux quatres coins près des zones de support ; (2) sous le rebord avant de la baignoire ; (3) près du drain (fig. 2.4). Aligner le drain avec l ouverture du plancher et installer la baignoire en position. Re-vérifier que la baignoire est de niveau. Compléter le raccordement de la plomberie. *Step 2 - Drain and Bathtub Installation (Sub-Floor Access) *Sub-floor access: the plumbing connections can be completed from the sub-fl oor access. Wipe off any excess of caulking. Insert the screw into the drain flange (fig. 2.1). Place the rubber gasket on the drain base and screw the drain base under the bathtub outlet using the screw. Tighten the screw using an Allen key (fig. 2.1). Screw the drain stopper on the drain flange and check for proper operation of the pop-up drain (fig. 2.1). fig. 2.4 Connect the tail piece (not included) to the drain by screwing the rubber gasket and nut to the drain base (fig. 2.2 and fig. 2.3). (2) Apply generous beads of caulking under the bathtub: in the four corners near the support zones; (2) under the front flange; (3) near the drain (fig. 2.4). Align the drain with the floor drain opening and install the bathtub. Make sure the bathtub is leveled. Connect plumbing. (3) Calfeutrant Caulking 6

7 **Etape 3 - Installation du drain et de la baignoire (sans accès) fig. 3.1 **Sans accès : l installation ne permet pas l accès au sousplancher, le raccordement de la plomberie doit donc être complété avant l installation de la baignoire. Assembler l écrou et le joint d étanchéité à l about (tuyau de raccordement au drain, non inclus) et fixer l about au siphon de la plomberie d évacuation. Visser la base du drain à l écrou et déposer le joint d étanchéité sur la base du drain (fig. 3.1 et fig. 3.2). Appliquer généreusement du calfeutrant sous la baignoire : aux quatres coins près des zones de support ; (2) sous le rebord avant de la baignoire ; (3) près du drain (fig. 3.3). Aligner le drain avec l ouverture du plancher et installer la baignoire en position (fig. 3.4). Vérifier que la baignoire est toujours de niveau. Essuyer tout excédent de calfeutrant (fig. 3.5). Insérer la vis dans la bride du drain et dans la base du drain. Visser fermement à l aide d une clé hexagonale (fig. 3.5). Visser le bouchon du drain sur la bride et vérifier son fonctionnement en appuyant sur le bouchon (fig. 3.5). fig. 3.3 (2) (3) **Step 3 - Drain and Bathtub Installation (Without Sub-Floor Access) Calfeutrant Caulking **Without sub-floor access: the installation site does not allow an access to the sub-fl oor, plumbing must be completed before installing the bathtub. fig. 3.4 Bouchon Stopper Slide the rubber gasket and the nut on the tail piece (not included) and fix the tail piece to the trap. Screw the drain base on the nut and sit the rubber gasket on the drain base (fig. 3.1 and fig. 3.2). Apply generous beads of caulking under the bathtub: in the four corners near the support zones; (2) under the front flange; (3) near the drain (fig. 3.3). Align the drain with the floor drain opening and install the bathtub (fig. 3.4). Make sure the bathtub is still leveled. Apply a bead of caulking around the bathtub drain outlet and sit the drain flange into the drain outlet. Wipe off any excess of caulking (fig. 3.5). Insert the screw into the drain flange. Tighten the screw to the drain base using an Allen key (fig. 3.5). Screw the drain stopper on the drain flange and check for proper operation of the pop-up drain (fig.3.5). 8 Etape 4 - Finition Vérifier que le drain empêche l eau de s évacuer. Déboucher le drain et vérifier que l eau s évacue complètement de la baignoire. Appliquer un joint de calfeutrant entre le sol et la baignoire (fig. 4). ATTENDRE 24 HEURES AVANT D UTILISER LA BAIGNOIRE. heures 24 hours Votre installation est maintenant complétée! Step 4 - Finishing Calfeutrant Caulking Check for leaks. Unplug the drain and check that the water drains properly. Apply a bead of caulking between the floor and the bathtub (fig. 4). WAIT 24 HOURS BEFORE USING THE BATHTUB. fig. 4 Your installation is now complete! 8

9 Entretien et nettoyage Maintenance and Cleaning Pour éviter les bris et vous assurer d un fonctionnement optimal, il est nécessaire de suivre ces recommandations lors de l entretien de votre produit Kalia. Les dommages par un traitement inapproprié ne sont pas couverts par la garantie Kalia. - Lire attentivement l étiquette du produit de nettoyage afin de vérifier qu il soit adéquat. Toujours essayer la solution de nettoyage sur une surface moins apparente avant de l appliquer sur la totalité de la surface. - Rincer complètement avec de l eau immédiatement après l application du nettoyant. - Un nettoyage régulier prévient l accumulation de saleté et souillures tenaces. ENTRETIEN QUOTIDIEN CRISTALPLANT MD est d un entretien facile et rapide. Il suffit de nettoyer CRISTALPLANT MD à l eau savonneuse ou avec des détergents courants pour éliminer la plupart des taches et de la saleté pouvant se déposer sur la surface. Tout particulièrement, nous conseillons les détergents en gel, ou abrasifs, en prenant soin de bien rincer la surface, utilisés avec une éponge abrasive ; on conservera ainsi la finition opaque d origine, signe distinctif du CRISTALPLANT MD. COMMENT ÉVITER LES DÉGÂTS En général, la surface a une bonne résistance aux taches ; toutefois, nous déconseillons l utilisation de produits chimiques agressifs tels que l acétone, le trichloréthylène, les acides ou les bases fortes. Certaines substances comme l encre, les cosmétiques et les vernis, en contact prolongé avec le matériau, peuvent libérer des colorants sur la surface de CRISTALPLANT MD, de même que les cigarettes allumées; mais il est possible de les éliminer en suivant les conseils reportés ci-dessous. ÉLIMINER TACHES TENACES, ÉRAFLURES ET BRÛLURES CRISTALPLANT MD est un matériau homogène dans toute l épaisseur, on peut donc le protéger des attaques superficielles telles que les éraflures, les brûlures de cigarette et les taches tenaces en redonnant à la surface sa beauté d origine tout simplement en suivant ces indications : Pour les dégâts limités, on peut réparer la surface en utilisant une éponge abrasive et un produit abrasif courant. Polir en surface la partie endommagée. Si le défaut est encore visible, recommencer en passant du papier-émeri très fin. To avoid damage and optimize your product, you must follow the below recommendations when maintaining your Kalia product. Damages resulting from inappropriate handling are not covered by the Kalia warranty. - Carefully read the label on the cleaning product to make sure it is safe and appropriate. Always try the cleaning solution on a less visible surface before applying it to the rest. - Completely rinse with water immediately after applying the cleaner. - Regular cleaning prevents the accumulation of dirt and tough stains. DAILY MAINTENANCE Caring for CRISTALPLANT is both fast and easy. It is enough to clean CRISTALPLANT with soapy water or household detergents in order to remove the majority of stains and dirt which are deposited on the surface. Gel or abrasive detergents are recommended taking care to thoroughly rinse the surface. When using an abrasive pad, like the enclosed photo the original opaque finish which is the distinguishing characteristic of CRISTALPLANT will be maintained. PREVENTING DAMAGE Whilst surfaces generally resistant to marking, nevertheless the use of aggressive chemical products such as acetone, trielin, strong acids is discouraged. Some substances such as ink, makeup and dyes as well as cigarettes may leave stains and marks on the CRISTALPLANT surface but they can all be removed by following the instructions below. REMOVING STUBBORN STAINS, SCRATCHES AND BURNS CRISTALPLANT is a material that is homogeneous throughout its thickness and scratches, cigarette burns and stubborn stains can be removed returning the surface to its original beauty by following these instructions: for light superficial damage, the surface can be restored by using an abrasive pad and a household abrasive cleaner. For deeper damage one can sand the damaged area. If the defect is still visible, repeat the sanding using very fine grain abrasive paper. 11 Warranty LIMITED WARRANTY Kalia Inc. offers the following express limited warranties on its products. These warranties extend only to the original owner/ end-user for personal household use and are effective as of the date of purchase. Additional limitations may apply for commercial use. 10 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY ON KALIA CRISTALPLANT BATHTUBS Kalia Inc. guarantees all aspects of its CRISTALPLANT bathtubs to be free of defects in material and workmanship for normal residential use for a period of 10 years and for the original consumer-purchaser of his or her home. If a defect is found during normal residential use, Kalia Inc. may, at its sole discretion, elect to repair, provide a replacement part or product, or make any another appropriate adjustment. Damage to a product caused by accident, misuse, or abuse is not covered under this warranty. Improper care and cleaning shall have the effect of rendering this warranty void. Kalia Inc. is not responsible for labor, installation or other incidental or consequential expenses. Under no circumstances shall the liability of Kalia Inc. exceed the purchase price paid for the product by the owner/ end-user, contractor or builder. COMMERCIAL LIMITATIONS In addition to the previously mentioned conditions and limitations, the warranty period for products installed for commercial applications, or used in commercial ventures, shall cover a period of one year from the initial date of purchase by the owner/ end-user, contractor or builder from an authorized dealer. If the product is sold by Kalia Inc. as a display item, a one year warranty applies.
