FLUX ÉTUDIANT (données 04) M : 7 étudiants M : étudiants Responsible of Master IRIV : Prof. Télécom Physique Strasbourg Pôle API - Parc d Innovation 00 Bd Sébastien Brant CS ILLKIRCH Cedex TÉL + (0) master-iriv.unistra.fr OBJECTIFS et DÉBOUCHÉS L objectif du Master IRIV est de former les étudiants aux méthodes, dispositifs et systèmes pour l acquisition et le traitement des images numériques, à la commande des systèmes complexes et au développement de solutions robotiques en vision par ordinateur, aux développements de systèmes optiques et nanophotoniques, à l imagerie du vivant. Cette formation est donc destinée à donner au futur docteur, ingénieur ou chercheur, les compétences multiples en analyse et traitement des images, vision par ordinateur, physique, automatique, informatique, biologie, biomécanique... nécessaires pour maîtriser la conception de systèmes d imagerie et des composants associés. Les équipes sont issues d une communauté de chercheurs et d enseignantschercheurs qui exercent leurs activités au sein de laboratoires associés au CNRS et à l INSERM, regroupés en fédérations de recherche (fédération STI) ; Institut fédératif de recherche de neurosciences de Strasbourg (IFR 07). Les projets de recherche mettent régulièrement en interaction des collaborations fortes entre disciplines (médecine, biologie, physique, photonique, robotique médicale et chirurgicale) et impliquent de nombreux partenariats académiques et industriels dans le cadre de l axe transverse «Imagerie et Robotique Médicale et Chirurgicale» du laboratoire icube, Pôle de compétitivité à vocation mondiale «Innovation Thérapeutique», de l Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire (IHU), de l IRCAD, l IGBMC, etc... Les principaux domaines d applications couverts par cette formation sont l imagerie médicale, l imagerie cellulaire et moléculaire, la télédétection, l imagerie astronomique, la métrologie et le contrôle industriel par vision, la robotique et les asservissements, la chirurgie robotisée mini-invasive et la nanophotonique. Les débouchés de la formation Master IRIV recouvrent la poursuite en Ecole Doctorale pour préparer une thèse sur années (% en moyenne des étudiants diplômés du Master) ou l insertion dans la vie professionnelle (49% des étudiants obtenaient un diplôme d ingénieur en même temps que leur Master Recherche en 0 avec un temps moyen de recherche du premier emploi inférieur à mois pour les ingénieurs de Télécom Physique Strasbourg). 4 Imaging Robotics and Biomedical Engineering M IV Master Imaging and computer vision track CONTEXT and OBJECTIVES The Imaging and Computer Vision track covers the wide field of systems dedicated to the acquisition and processing of digital images and prepares students for careers in research and development. The knowledge needed for the pursuance of graduate (PhD) studies in the field of computer vision and image processing is also provided here. PRACTICAL INFORMATION Admission requirements : M track ASI or an equivalent Master degree (M) in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Computer Science CONTENT and ACQUIRED SKILLS Students will acquire skills that are both methodological and practical: various courses of theoretical, general, more specialized and applicationoriented nature are combined with many practical sessions in which the studied methods are implemented using computer technology. The courses of this track are organized as follows: Basic notions in imaging, image processing and computer vision Advanced methodological tools for image and computer vision: statistical processing of images, classification and pattern recognition, spectral analysis, image sequences analysis, mathematical morphology, discrete geometry, geometry and image synthesis, robust estimators, inverse problems, deformable models Application-oriented modules: medical image processing and associated equipment, remote sensing and Earth observation, astronomical image processing A full-time internship of 9 weeks minimum will take place during the last semester in one of the accompanying labs of this Master Program, in a public research laboratory, or in an R&D laboratory in private industry, in France or abroad. Opportunities of mobility grants toward foreign Universities (e.g., University of Houston, USA (have a look on the web site for more details) are offered for some of the best students each year. 6 Imaging Robotics and Biomedical Engineering M AR Master Automation, Control and Robotics Track CONTEXT and OBJECTIVES Robotics, vision and advanced control are key techniques used in many industries like aeronatics, automotive, electronics, food or drug. This track will give you the necessary background to design, implement and control advanced mechatronical systems using robots, vision systems and real-time embedded computers. The track is opened to students with a background in computer science, mechanical or electrical engineering. PREREQUISITES for ADMISSION Successful completion of the M Track ASI (Automation, Control, Signal Processing and Computer Science). CONTENT and ACQUIRED SKILLS The AR track provides extensive training in the latest technologies of the field of Automation, Control and Robotics, such as advanced control techniques (e.g. optimal control, robust control, predictive control, non-linear control), robotics (e.g. manipulation robotics and mobile robotics), and computer vision (image processing and visual servoing), as well as programming techniques for industrial applications (e.g. real-time and embedded systems, industrial networks). With this training, students get the knowledge they need to excel as an R&D engineer in industrial companies or to start a career in a research laboratory. The internship in the 4th semester has proven to be a great opportunity for students to enter the professional world, and is often followed by a job offer. The internships often take place in major European companies such as Airbus Group, SNECMA, Thales, PSA, Renault, Siemens, Bosch, GM, EDF, Schneider, Hager, etc., in foreign Universities such as University of Minnesota, USC, University of Pennsylvania, University of Houston, University Tohoku, EPFL, or in national research organizations such as INRIA, CNRS, IFREMER. 8 Imaging Robotics and Biomedical Engineering M nano Master Nanophothonics Track CONTEXT and OBJECTIVES Photonics has been identified as one of the ten key research and technology areas for the st century. Many European countries massively invest in the related R&D, as the application fields for Photonics are tremendously wide-spread, ranging from aerospace to biomolecular microscopy. In the Nanophotonics track, we provide students with state-of-theart know-how and skills needed for their first job in this dynamically evolving field. The courses are open to students with a background in physics, lasers, optical metrology and signal processing. Classes including a 4-month internship cover different aspects of modern optics and current developments in nanophotonics. In addition to fundamental know-how in image processing, classic optics, guided optics and the interaction between light and matter, by the end of their studies, the students master key innovative concepts exploring photonics at extreme time and space scales. CONTENT and ACQUIRED SKILLS This track aims at developing the skills and knowhow needed for R&Drelated jobs by introducing students to the many technologies that presently emerge from optics and nanotechnologies: science and technology of optoelectronic materials and components, biotechnologies and medicine, telecommunications and information processing, photonic equipment for the laboratories and industy, photonics and sustainable development. Lectures, lab courses and project-oriented teaching are delivered in S5, while S is entirely dedicated to a research programme in a public or private laboratory. The location of these studies in Strasbourg provides students with a highly favorable local environment, as the regional industrial and research fabric at the crossroads of France, Germany and Switzerland is very dense in these fields. 10 Imaging Robotics and Biomedical Engineering Master M IRMC Medical and Surgical Imaging and Robotics Track CONTEXT and OBJECTIVES This research-oriented track is aimed at training future researchers in the field of medical imaging, medical robotics, and particularly computer-aided Radiology and Surgery. The students will acquire the knowledge needed to enter a PhD program in the field of biomedical engineering. Final admission decision is given to selected students in July The first semester of M (S) begins at the end of September. CONTENT and ACQUIRED SKILLS This track includes on one hand general courses in image processing, computer vision, robotics, biomechanics and biomedical instrumentation, and on the other hand specific courses in medical imaging and computeraided radiology and surgery. Students will acquire skills that are both methodological and practical. Several courses are combined with many practical sessions where the studied theory is implemented in case studies. A full-time internship of 9 weeks minimum will take place during the last semester in one of the accompanying labs of this Master Program, in a public research laboratory, or in an R&D laboratory in industry, in France or abroad. ASSETS The region of Alsace, with its Innovative Cluster Alsace Biovalley, is a particularly active region in the field of biomedical engineering and healthcare. The region is located in the most important area in Europe for the healthcare industry. The biomedical engineering domain is one of the main research fields of the University of Strasbourg. A specific research program in the area of medical and surgical imaging and robotics is sponsored by the scientific council of the university, the Alsace Regional Council, and the City of Strasbourg The program is mainly centered on the research performed at ICube ( a CNRS-University research laboratory. ICube includes specific research teams linked to this Master of Sciences Program, in medical image processing, biomechanics, medical robotics, and biophysics (the latter two being taught on hospital premises). ICube laboratory offers access to several top-notch research platforms, such as a biomechanical platform, a medical robotics platform, three MRI imaging platforms, and a comprehensive medical image processing platform. Some courses are done in partnership with IRCAD ( the world-renowned center for surgical education with 4000 surgeons coming for training every year for theoretical and hands-on sessions including invivo experiments. Major international players such as Siemens (partner of Télécom Physique Strasbourg), GE Healthcare and Philips, to name but a few in the field of Medical Imaging, are currently investing heavily in these technologies and are in strong need for the type of engineer trained by his program. These and many other companies in the Biomedical Engineering Field such as Metronics, Covidian, Karl Storz... propose internships and have in the past recruited graduates of this track. 12 Imagerie, Robotique, Ingénierie pour le Vivant Master IRIV M-M IRMC Images, Robotique Médicale et Chirurgicale parcours adapté pour les étudiants inscrits en faculté de médecine Le parcours Imagerie, Robotique Médicale et Chirurgicale du Master Recherche mention IRIV (Imagerie, Robotique et Ingénierie pour le Vivant) propose un parcours adapté pour les étudiants de la Faculté de Médecine qui s orientent vers des carrières hospitalouniversitaires dans des disciplines en lien avec l imagerie médicale (radiologie, radiologie interventionnelle, médecine nucléaire...) et la chirurgie. Cette formation s appuie sur les Pôles d Excellence en imagerie dont disposent l Universite de Strasbourg et l Alsace : le laboratoire ICube qui regroupe les forces des Sciences et Technologies de l Information sur Strasbourg, l IRCAD (Institut de Recherche sur les Cancers de l Appareil Digestif), l Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire (IHU) Mix-Surg financé par le grand emprunt Grand Emprunt, afin de créer et développer une chirurgie innovante miniinvasive et guidée par l image, ainsi que les laboratoires de la Faculté de Médecine, l Institut de génétique et de biologie moléculaire et cellulaire (IGBMC). Nombres d étudiants inscrit en dans ces deux parcours : 8 étudiants dont 8 médecins. Parcours M adapté pour les étudiants en médecine (FASM - FASM - FGSM) Les étudiants en médecine ou odontologie sont admis à s inscrire en M du Master IRIV à compter du deuxième cycle de leurs études. Ils peuvent valider l équivalent de 0 ECTS à compter de leur admission en e cycle. Ils doivent donc acquérir 0 ECTS, au cours du e cycle des études médicales, pour valider la première année du Master. Les étudiants intéressés peuvent s inscrire au Master dès le FASM, FASM ou FGSM (ex DCEM, DCEM ou DCEM) pour capitaliser ces 0 crédits ECTS, grâce à un parcours adapté en M, où les cours sont regroupés sur une journée par semaine. Le dernier semestre est validé par un stage de 9 semaines minimum en milieu hospitalier ou en laboratoire de recherche. Une UE Recherche bibliographique est associée à ce stage.
