2 ECAL Graphic Design A l occasion de la parution du livre «ECAL Graphic Design» publié chez JRP Ringier, l ECAL/Ecole cantonale d art de Lausanne présente du 4 mars au 8 avril 2016 à la Galerie l elac (vernissage le jeudi 3 mars 2016 de 18 h à 20 h) une exposition de projets réalisés par les étudiants en Bachelor Design Graphique et en Master Art Direction. En lien avec cet événement, François Rappo, Professeur en Bachelor Design Graphique et en Master Art Direction, donnera une conférence intitulée «Next» le jeudi 24 mars 2016 à 18 h dans l Auditoire IKEA de l ECAL. L ECAL/Ecole cantonale d art de Lausanne s est imposée depuis des années comme une référence mondiale en termes de design graphique. Editions de livres, catalogues ou magazines, affiches, typographies ou projets numériques, ses étudiants sont capables d embrasser tous les champs de cette discipline et de réaliser des travaux aussi variés que maîtrisés. Ce succès repose notamment sur une politique de workshops qui leur permet de se confronter directement au sein même de l école aux meilleurs designers graphiques suisses ou internationaux. Dans cette logique, l ECAL a eu la chance d accueillir ces dernières années des personnalités marquantes telles que Ludovic Balland, Bibliothèque, Mirko Borsche, Thomas Buxo, Veronica Ditting, Europa, Johann Kauth, Jürg Lehni, Ari Marcopoulos, Maximage, Young Na Kim, NORM, OK-RM, Brian Roettinger, Hansje van Halem, Cornel Windlin ou encore Job Wouters alias Letman. L exposition et le livre «ECAL Graphic Design» reviennent ainsi en grande partie sur les travaux produits en Bachelor Design Graphique et en Master Art Direction ces cinq dernières années, lors de ces interventions, mais également à l occasion des autres cours qui ont fait la réputation de l institution. L ouvrage, réalisé par le studio Gavillet & Cie, s articule autour d un long travelling photographique, dans lequel les projets ne sont pas classés par catégories, mais organisés par couleurs. La scénographie, orchestrée par le designer Adrien Rovero, repose sur le même concept, permettant une totale modularité de l exposition. 3 ECAL Graphic Design On the occasion of the release of the ECAL Graphic Design book published by JRP Ringier, ECAL/University of Art & Design Lausanne presents from 4 th March to 8 th April at the Gallery l elac (opening on Thursday 3 rd March 2016 from 6pm to 8pm) an exhibition of projects realised by students of the Bachelor Graphic Design and the Master Art Direction. In relation with this event, François Rappo, Bachelor Graphic Design and Master Art Direction Professor, will give a lecture titled Next on Thursday 24 th March 2016 at 6pm in the IKEA Auditorium, ECAL. ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne has long been recognised as a world reference in terms of graphic design. Be it in designing books, catalogues, magazines or posters, typography or digital projects, ECAL students are able to embrace all fields of this discipline and to masterfully perform a wide variety of assignments. This success is largely based on a policy of workshops allowing them to learn from the best Swiss or international graphic designers directly on the school premises. With this in mind, ECAL has had the good fortune of welcoming in recent years leading figures such as Ludovic Balland, Bibliothèque, Mirko Borsche, Thomas Buxo, Veronica Ditting, Europa, Gilles Gavillet, Johann Kauth, Jürg Lehni, Ari Marcopoulos, Maximage, Young Na Kim, NORM, OK-RM, Brian Roettinger, Hansje van Halem, Cornel Windlin and Job Wouters aka Letman. The exhibition and book ECAL Graphic Design largely retraces projects conducted in the Graphic Design Bachelor and Art Direction Master courses over the past five years in the framework of these visits, but also of other courses which have contributed to the School s reputation. Edited by the Gavillet & Cie studio, the book revolves around a long succession of tracking shots in which projects are not classified in categories, but organised by colour. The exhibition design orchestrated by Adrien Rovero is based on the same concept, allowing a total flexibility of the exhibition.
