2 FORMATIONS PRIVEES Huit écoles d'aviation sont agréées pour proposer les formations des pilotes de ligne. Au terme de leur formation, les pilotes obtiennent leur licence de vol JAR-FCL (réglementation européenne). Pour plus d'informations : SPF Mobilité et Transports ( Air Academy New CAG Air Academy New CAG est une école de pilotage crée en 1976 et approuvée FTO (Flight Training Organisation), selon les nouvelles normes européenne JAR-FCL en ce qui concerne la formation de pilotes de tous niveaux. Elle propose un programme complet de cours théoriques et pratiques élaborés et conçus d'après l'expérience acquise par les instructeurs dans l'art du pilotage des avions légers, allant du monomoteur le plus simple jusqu'au bimoteur le plus complexe. Elle a opté pour une formation de type modulaire. Les principaux avantages d'une formation de type modulaire sont un meilleur contrôle des dépenses, une progression à son propre rythme, la possibilité d'étaler la formation dans le temps en suspendant éventuellement celle-ci entre deux modules. Chaque module donne accès à une licence ou une qualification effective. Au terme du cursus, le candidat pourra exercer les privilèges d'une licence de Pilote Professionnel (CPL) et détiendra les qualifications pour effectuer des vols en avion monomoteur (SEP) et bimoteur à piston (MEP) et effectuer des vols en condition de vol à vue (VFR) et en condition de vol aux instruments (IFR). Il possédera une attestation de fréquentation d'un cours Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC). Il y a 8 modules organisés de façon optimale afin de pouvoir suivre la formation dans les meilleures conditions et pour un coût raisonnable. Ces différents modules sont : Module 1 : Obtenir une licence de Pilote Privé - PPL(A) Module 2 : Suivre le cours théorique Pilote de Ligne (ATPL) en salle ou par correspondance et réussir les examens Module 3 : Acquérir l'expérience minimum requise pour les modules suivants Module 4 : Obtenir votre qualification vol de nuit - NVFR Module 5 : Obtenir votre qualification de vol aux instruments - IR(A) Module 6 : Obtenir votre licence de pilote professionnel - CPL(A) Module 7 : Obtenir votre qualification de vol sur avion multi-moteur - MEP/IR(A) Module 8 : Obtenir votre certificat de vol en équipage multi-pilote - MCC. Remarque : La licence de Pilote Privé est requise avant de débuter le module 2. 2

3 Les cours sont donnés à Gosselies ou par correspondance avec le système de Distance Learning. La formation théorique nécessite la connaissance de la langue anglaise. Communications IFR L'examen théorique se fait sur ordinateur, scindé en deux parties, la deuxième devant être présentée dans les 6 mois suivants la réussite de la première. L'examen comporte des Questions à Choix Multiple (QCM), portant sur les 14 matières présentées. Le candidat doit obtenir 75% dans chacune de ces matières pour satisfaire à l'examen qui se déroule dans les locaux de l'administration de l'aéronautique à Bruxelles. L école est actuellement la plus active de Belgique et forme chaque année une soixantaine de pilotes de ligne. Implantée sur les aéroports de Charleroi et de Liège, elle opère sur 3

4 une vingtaine d avions et emploie une cinquantaine d instructeurs. Depuis peu, l école s est associée avec Aerosim Flight Academy, une des plus grandes écoles de pilotage américaine implantée à Orlando en Floride. Formation intégrée BFS, en partenariat avec Aerosim Flight Academy, propose un programme de formation comprenant plus de 900h de cours théoriques et plus de 240h de formation pratique, réparties entre la Floride, connue pour ses conditions météorologiques favorables et son espace aérien ouvert, et la Belgique, connue pour la rigueur de ses conditions météorologique et la complexité de son espace aérien. Cette formation intégrée débute tous les six mois (avril et octobre), se déroule entre Charleroi et Orlando, le tout en anglais et nécessite le CESS et la réussite d'un examen d'admission. Formation modulaire Le meilleur compromis pour les candidats qui ne souhaitent pas s engager dans une formation continue et intensive est le programme modulaire. La formation est divisée en 8 modules, avec une répartition de cours théoriques et de formation en vol. Chaque module est complémentaire et la combinaison de ces modules permet d acquérir l ensemble des licences et qualifications requises pour postuler comme copilote. Cette formation modulaire débute tous les six mois (mars et septembre), se déroule à Charleroi et/ou à Liège en anglais et nécessite le CESS. Formation instructeur de vol Si vous êtes un pilote professionnel et si vous désirez partager votre connaissance et vos compétences en formant d autres personnes, vous pouvez suivre la formation d Instructeur. 5 CAE Global Academy Brussels - Sabena Flight Academy CAE Global Academy Brussels, formerly Sabena Flight Academy, is a founding member of the CAE Global Academy, the largest worldwide network of ab initio flight training organizations with 11 flight academies on five continents. Today, the network owns a worldwide fleet of about 300 aircraft and can train approximately pilot cadets per year. Integrated Airline Transportation Pilot License (ATPL). CAE Global Academy Brussels is a JAR-approved Flight Training Organization (FTO) and offers an integrated Airline Transportation Pilot License (ATPL). The program can be completed in approximately 20 months. The training is mainly conducted in Belgium at the Brussels Airport, for a duration of 13 months and at CAE Global Academy Phoenix in Mesa, Arizona, USA for a duration of between 6 and 7 months). Selection tests the CAE Aircrew Selection System (CASS) - are mandatory and organized throughout the year. Registration is done on a first come, first serve basis, in order to be able to get into the class of your choice it is recommended that you book early. All testing is done in English. We organize three classes yearly, starting in January, May and September of each year. Our integrated ATPL training program consists of 3 phases: Phase I - Theoretical training - Brussels Airport - 9 months. Phase II.1 - Flight training USA - 6 to7 months. Phase II.2 - Flight training Evora - 2 months. Phase III - Simulator training - Brussels Airport - 2 months. Theoretical training The theoretical training prepares students for the official "Airline Pilot" examinations organized by the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority. This part is combined with airline observation flights and intensive "Basic Flying Familiarization Course". Although support in Dutch and French is available, the complete training is provided in English. Every subject is taught by professionals, airline pilots, engineers, physics or aviation master graduates. The subjects of the courses in order to prepare the students for the final ATPL theoretical examination organized by the Belgian Civil Aviation Authorities are as follows : Air law and regulations Human Performance and limitations Basic principles of flight Aircraft general knowledge Meteorology and Climatology 5

6 General VFR-IFR navigation and Radio navigation Communication Operational procedures Aircraft performance, weight and balance, flight planning Students receive 750 hours of classroom courses including revisions and exams preparations. Every single hour is taught by an instructor with the help of modern didactic tools. Exercise sessions or practical sessions are also organized, for example VFR/IFR communication exercises are done in groups of 5 students, FMS introduction sessions are done in a real FMS trainer. In order to increase motivation and to facilitate comprehension, the CAE Global Academy Brussels offers the opportunity to perform observation sessions during actual full flight simulator training (A320 or B737) as well as 10 observation flights with Thomas Cook and Jetairfly airlines. To provide trainees with a general idea of the actual job of an airline pilot life and the airline environment, visits are organized at the following locations/companies Airport (pier, airport facilities, old timers) Facilities (handling, catering, technics) Belgocontrol (tower, CANAC) Eurocontrol Seneca Engine Shop Weekly evaluations are preformed to help cadets develop an optimum study rhythm and to prepare them for the ATPL exam. ATPL exams are multiple choice. In order to provide the most efficient preparation for the multiple choice exam, our trainees have access to a JAR question database containing more than 19,000 questions. An individual follow-up is organized by the ground instructors. The ATPL examination is a national exam organized by the Belgian Civil Aviation Authorities. This exam which consists of14 separate tests is performed in two blocks of one week each and is planned at the end of the nine month theoretical training period. Flight training Thanks to Arizona's fair climate the numerous airports available and the complexity of the airspace, the largest part of the flight instruction is given in Mesa, Arizona, USA at CAE Global Academy Phoenix. A fleet of modern, well-equiped Diamond aircraft guarantee our students high quality training. After the training in, Mesa (incl. CPL-check), acclimatization flights and IR-ME checks are performed back in Evora to complete the CPL license. The trainee completes his/her training with our Airline Career Preparation Program (ACPP) at the CAE training center in Brussels. The flight training consists of four stages: 6

7 First stage: Basic training in a single-engine Diamond 20, Piper Archer 20, or Diamond 40, depending on fleet availability Progress checks: The candidate has to opportunity to perform the checks for the FAA Private Pilot License Second stage: Advanced training in a Diamond 40 Training in a twin-engine Diamond 42 Instrument flying Synthetic trainer FNPTII (Flight and Navigation Procedures Trainer ) (40 hours) Third stage: Final part of IR training in a Diamond 42 CPL-IR-ME check Fourth stage: ACPP course in a B , B (NG) or A320 32hrs of full flight simulator During most of the training flights, one student will act as a pilot flying, a second one as an observer. This actually doubles the amount of hours spent in the aircraft. During the complete training a special insurance will cover the loss of medical license leading to the reimbursement of the training. CAE Global Academy Brussels offers a renewal program to the students (included in the price) to keep their license valid during the two years following the completion of their training. This 'after care program' allows the students to fly the minimum amount of IFR and ME hours to maintain valid the CPL-IR-ME. Simulator training: ACPP-MCC (Multi-crew Cooperation) MCC, basic jet flying and airline career preparation all-in-one! We developed our Airline Career Training Program with three objectives in mind: Comply with the requirements for a JAR-FCL MCC Instruct and train basic jet flying techniques Prepare the trainee for the next step in his career: the simulator evaluation session of the selection procedures for a job as First Officer at an airline The focus of this training is not only on the non-technical aspects (CRM/MCC aspects) but also focuses on developing the student s flying skills. This course consists of: 70 hours of theoretical knowledge training (classroom briefings, FMS (Flight Management System) training, CPT (Cockpit Procedure Training) and FBS (Fixed Base Simulator) training. 22 hours of Full Flight Simulator (FFS) training 7

8 A 3hr40min FFS evaluation session CRM (Crew Resource Management) debriefing Our B simulator is equipped with a digital CRM debriefing camera, the ideal tool to analyze and debrief your performance in a multi-crew environment. The use of such a device is strongly recommended for this type of training. You will see yourself communicate, perform Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and take decisions.
