3 Les écoles doivent s adapter à l évolution du contexte professionnel. Design schools must go with the flow and adapt to market evolutions. Se former dans une école de design aujourd hui, ce n est plus seulement acquérir une technique de création. C est désormais, pour l étudiant, s investir dans une formation qui lui permettra tout au long de son parcours professionnel de mettre sa créativité au service de l environnement, du développement économique et du progrès. Depuis dix ans, les programmes pédagogiques se sont adaptés pour faire du designer un manager de projet capable de fédérer tous les acteurs de l entreprise. À ses talents de «créatif», le designer doit donc désormais ajouter ceux de «communicant», d animateur et de gestionnaire de projets complexes. Il fera ainsi partager sa création et contribuera activement à la faire passer du stade conceptuel à la réalisation concrète. Les designers ont donc un bel avenir devant eux, car ils vont occuper demain des positions stratégiques correspondant à l enjeu que représente le design pour le développement des entreprises. Ils seront donc amenés à devenir aussi managers, responsables marketing ou de recherche et développement. Ils le feront parce que leur talent de designer leur donne une vision à nulle autre pareille. Impact(s) n 3 présente le parcours d «anciens» de L École de design. Plus que sur la qualité du diplôme, la réussite d une école se mesure à celle des anciens élèves qui, après cinq ou dix ans de carrière professionnelle, sont toujours les éléments moteurs de la création et de l innovation au sein de leur entreprise et continuent d assumer les responsabilités qui leur sont confiées. Les parcours qui sont présentés dans Impact(s) illustrent parfaitement cela. La réussite de nos anciens élèves honore l école et récompense le travail et l engagement de tous ceux, professeurs et collaborateurs de l école, maîtres de stages, jurys, étudiants, anciens, chefs d entreprises, institutions qui œuvrent pour son développement. Now studying design is a true way to engage in a long-term career as a creative professional in the service of innovation, users and development. Over the past ten years curriculums have evolved and designers have taken on other kinds of responsibility such as being in a position to bringing together all industrial players. Designers must now complement their creativity with communication skills; they must turn into inspirers, leaders, advanced project managers... There s no point in being talented if you do not share your talent. Designers have a great future ahead of them. Soon they will take on strategic positions significant in spurring companies to take to design. Therefore they must be ready to fulfill new duties management, leadership, marketing, R&D They will do so because they are designers and designers have a unique vision of the world. Impact(s) n 3 is a collection of exemplary alumni profiles. The quality of a school s curriculums not only lies in the value of the degrees delivered but also in alumni s careers, in how five or ten years after graduating, young designers handle the creative and innovation-oriented tasks they have been entrusted with. The success of these graduates from L École de design is a great honor and a meaningful gratification for all students, alumni, employees, industrial partners, internship advisors, juries, officials, institutions who contributed to our institution s development. EndoCross a été conçu comme la nouvelle génération de dispositifs de traitement des occlusions chroniques cardiovasculaires. Traiter les occlusions chroniques des vaisseaux périphériques et coronaires est un défi pour les chirurgiens cardiologues, car ce genre d intervention ne jouit que d un taux de réussite très faible. EndoCross est facile d utilisation et vise à améliorer les résultats en éloignant les forces appliquées au point d intervention. Le cathéter jetable ne nécessite pas d investissement et se prend en main très rapidement. Ce produit est le fruit d une étroite collaboration entre des designers, des ingénieurs et des chirurgiens. Au terme d une série de prototypes et de tests ergonomiques, nous avons accumulé la connaissance nécessaire pour proposer cette solution au croisement de plusieurs disciplines. Le design d EndoCross est centré sur l utilisateur et le produit est composé de matériaux recyclables. Mon souhait serait de poursuivre le développement de Dna Designer Network, réseau de compétences liées aux métiers du design que nous mettons en place depuis deux ans. This product is the fruit of a close collaboration between designers, engineers and surgeons. EndoCross was developed as the next generation of devices to treat Chronic Total Occlusions. Crossing a CTO lesion is a complex and tiring challenge for the interventional cardiologist, and suffers from low success rates. EndoCross is a simple-to-operate crossing device that aims at improving clinical outcome by generating distal forces at the lesion site. The catheter is completely disposable, does not require investment in capital equipment, and requires a very short learning curve. This product is the fruit of a close collaboration between designers, engineers and surgeons. Through a series of prototypes and ergonomic trials, the knowledge gathered led us to this cross-disciplinary solution. The design is user-oriented and the product is made out of recyclable materials. My plans for the near future are to continue developping the Dna Designer Network, a design-specific competency network, which we have been working on for the past two years.

I was fortunate enough to define the project myself from the very first sketch through to manufacturing. Son but premier est de rassembler petits et grands autour d une activité liée à l environnement : faire pousser la plus majestueuse crête végétale. Mais ce n est pas tout! Il préserve la fraîcheur des aromates et peut être utilisé comme pot à crayons par les plus studieux. Dinoz a été créé afin d attirer l attention de firmes comme Jardiland ou Truffaut ; j ai eu la chance de définir moi-même le projet de la première esquisse à la production. Des usages à la forme, des coloris au packaging, j ai ainsi découvert et apprécié les différentes étapes de création du produit. Le collectif «at-once» a finalement décidé d auto-éditer cet objet somme toute très personnel, et Dinoz s est très vite imposé comme porte-drapeau de l univers de création de notre studio! Un de mes rêves serait de m installer dans un local industriel dont j aurais défini l aménagement intérieur et où je pourrais m entourer d une multitude de plantes, d œuvres d artistes et de designers que j apprécie, sans oublier les quelques meubles et objets décoratifs que j ai dessinés! Dinoz is a recreational decorative object. Its primary goal is to bring people together, big and small, around an activity with an environmental twist: growing the most colossal vegetable ridge. But that s not all! It locks in the freshness of herbs, and may also be used as a pencil cup for the more studious. Dinoz was created to attract the attention of companies such as Jardiland and Truffaut; I was fortunate enough to define the project myself from the very first sketch through to manufacturing. From uses to shape, from colors to packaging, I was able to witness and appreciate the different stages of the product creation process. The at-once collective finally decided to self-edit this, in sum, very personal object, and within no time, Dinoz became the proud and beloved ensign of our studio s creative realm! One of my dreams is to settle into an industrial locale whose interior layout would be designed by none other than myself, and where I would be surrounded by myriad plants and some of my favorite artist and designer pieces, not to mention a handful of my own personally sketched furniture and decorative items!

Fini, les pommes de terre, les oignons, l ail, les échalotes cachés sous l évier ou relégués à la cave! Premiers produits textiles de la gamme Mastrad «organisation», ces sacs à légumes permettent de les stocker sur les murs de la cuisine. Remplis par le haut, vidés par le bas, ils allient tradition des matériaux (lin et coton) et modernité des couleurs. La doublure en coton noir protège les légumes de la lumière tout en les laissant respirer. Commercialisés depuis Avec ce projet, Mastrad repense le sac à légumes et propose une solution pertinente pour ranger ces aliments de base, en tenant compte des contraintes suivantes : praticité (posés ou suspendus, les premiers légumes placés dans les sacs sont les premiers sortis, fermetures pratiques), hygiène (lavage en machine), conservation (protégés de la lumière), solidité (jusqu à 3,5 kg de pommes de terre dans le modèle orange) et esthétique sobre et contemporaine. Le projet de mes rêves est un produit poétique, écologique, pratique et «made in france» qui plairait au grand public et s inscrirait dans la durée. With this project, Mastrad rethink the vegetable keep sack. Gone are the days of potatoes, onions, garlic and shallots tucked away under the sink or buried somewhere in the deep, dark depths of the cellar! As the first fabric-made products of the Mastrad organisation line, these vegetable keep sacks allow for easy storage on kitchen walls. Filled through the top and emptied through the bottom, they pair traditional textiles (linen and cotton) with contemporary colors. The double-lined black cotton interior protects vegetables from light while allowing them to get the air they need. They have been on the market since With this project, Mastrad rethink the vegetable keep sack, and offer up a pertinent solution to store these staple foods while weighing in the balance the following: practicality (set down or hung, first-in, first-out system, practical closures), hygiene (machine washable), preservation (protected from light), solid (stores up to nearly 8 lbs. of potatoes in the orange model) and a simple and contemporary look. The project of my dreams is a French-made, poetic, environmentally friendly and functional product aiming to please a large audience, and one with a long shelf-life ahead of it.

Depuis 2007, l Arbre à macarons fleurit dans les vitrines des artisans pâtissiers chocolatiers. Visible de la rue, il est censé surprendre et attiser la curiosité des gourmands et ainsi les inviter à rentrer dans la boutique. La PLV (Publicité sur le Lieu de Vente) est composée de trois éléments en carton compact coloré que l artisan assemble simplement et rapidement. Notre client garnit son arbre avec des macarons, dans des boules en plexiglas, suspendues aux branches. Le macaron, petit gâteau coloré et délicat, est une source d inspiration inépuisable. En forme de graine vu de profil, le macaron évoque une plante. Comme le végétal, la publicité est éphémère. L idée de l arbre est venue spontanément et s inspire du film barocco-ludique «Marie-Antoinette» (S. Coppola, 2006) dans lequel la protagoniste déguste ces douceurs. C est un plaisir quotidien que de penser des emballages et divers objets promotionnels pour mettre en valeur un produit fortement créatif et riche de sens tels que le bonbon, le chocolat, les dragées, les pâtisseries... The idea came about spontaneously, and is inspired from the whimsical, Baroque-style movie, Marie-Antoinette. Since 2007, the Macaroon Tree has been in full bloom in the windows of pastry chefs and chocolatiers. Visible from the street, it is meant to surprise and grab the attention of foodies and their palates, inviting them to step foot into the devilishly decadent boutiques. The POS advertising consists of three compact, colored cardboard units, which are quickly and easily assembled by the artisan. Our client garnishes the tree with macaroons nestled inside Plexiglas balls that hang from the branches. The macaroon, a small, colorful and fragile confection, is a source of infinite inspiration. Seed-like in shape when viewed from the side, the macaroon resembles a plant. Like the vegetable, the publicity is short-lived. The idea of the tree came about spontaneously, and is inspired from the whimsical, Baroque-style movie, Marie-Antoinette (S. Coppola, 2006), in which the protagonist delights in these sweets. It s a daily pleasure to think up packaging and various promotional items which spotlight incredibly creative and sensory-rich products such as candy, chocolate, sugared almonds, pastries, etc.

La nouvelle franchise de puériculture Babyka a confié à V. O. design son design global : positionnement stratégique de l enseigne et de son concept store original, création de l identité visuelle et de l univers graphique de la franchise, conception de tout l aménagement intérieur et de la mise en scène des différents espaces produits, et suivi de réalisation du magasin test de 800 m 2. Ce projet a été pensé de manière transversale. D une part, il innove par rapport aux codes des magasins de puériculture actuels en proposant aux parents de s immerger dans le monde de l enfance grâce à une véritable mise en scène des produits : création de «zones test» et d un «espace maman» dédié. D autre part, il permet aux franchisés de limiter leurs coûts d installation et de fonctionnement grâce à la conception de rayonnages standardisés. Réalisation en collaboration avec Amélie Bonhomme. Notre projet rêvé reste confidentiel! This project was cross-disciplinary from the start. The new chain in childcare, Babyka, has entrusted V. O. Design with its overall design: Strategic positioning of the chain s signage and of its first concept store, creation of both its visual identity and graphic realm, complete design of the interior layout and staging of the various product spaces and follow-up of the 800-square meter pilot store roll-out. This project was cross-disciplinary from the start. On the one hand, it innovates based on present-day childcare store norms by offering parents the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of childhood thanks to a vast array of products: creation of test zones and a special moms only space. On the other, it allows franchise owners to limit installation and operational costs due to the standardized shelf layout design. Carried out in cooperation with Amélie Bonhomme. Our dream project is confidential!

The work involved identifying new trends in this market. Les produits, majoritairement biologiques et éthiques, s adressent à une clientèle féminine et urbaine à la recherche de l achat «plaisir» mais responsable. L enseigne se développe en centre-ville et dans les corners de grands magasins autour des cinq thématiques : Paris, Tokyo, Istanbul, Oslo, New-York. Forte d une expérience de dix ans dans le secteur de la salle de bain, j ai collaboré au lancement de ce projet sur l aspect design au sein de GMO Développement. Le travail a consisté à repérer les nouvelles tendances du marché et à construire la collection autour d une image de marque forte. Participer à la création et à l optimisation d un nouveau concept destiné à être développé reste aujourd hui mon aventure professionnelle la plus passionnante. Via a journey across five continents, La Route des Bains displays its own lines of cosmetics, bath and massage accessories, scented candles, bathroom linens, homewear as well as a selection of books and mood music. The majority of the products being organic and ethical appeals to a feminine and urban clientele on the lookout for not only that pleasure purchase, but also a planet-friendly one. The concept markets itself in local shops as well as in department store-specific corners built around the five themes: Paris, Tokyo, Istanbul, Oslo and New York. With ten years of experience in the bathroom sector, I worked on the design aspect within GMO Développement for the product launch of La Route des Bains. The work involved identifying new trends in this market and building the collection around a powerful brand image. Participation in the creation and optimization of a new concept that may one day be developed remains my most passionate professional endeavor today.

La façade du Pavillon de Monaco symbolise une ville entourée par le soleil et la mer, respectueuse de l environnement. Les rayons de soleil traversent l eau qui coule dans les anneaux entourant le pavillon. La quantité de nuages et la force du vent entraînent des variations visuelles et donnent vie à l édifice. Nous avons voulu souligner l importance des changements climatiques et leurs conséquences. Le verre et l eau utilisés sont recyclés et la façade permet au Pavillon de rester frais. J ai fait partie de l équipe qui a développé le concept du Pavillon de Monaco. Pour répondre aux attentes de la Principauté et être en accord avec le thème de l Exposition Universelle de Shanghai «Better City, Better Life», j ai choisi de représenter la ville-état en mettant en exergue ses éléments naturels. Ainsi, les reflets du soleil sur la mer, en général représentés par une surface d eau limpide et brillante, sont traduits par des sillons d eau qui se reflètent sur de la pierre rose claire. De nombreux projets audacieux et étonnants se développent en Chine. Mon rêve est de vivre à 100% ce que l on m y propose I chose to represent the city-state by highlighting its natural elements. The facade of the Monaco Pavilion symbolizes a city respectful of the environment surrounded by both the sun and sea. The sun rays spread across the running water in the rings encompassing the pavilion. The number of clouds and the force of the wind engender visual variation, and breathe life into the edifice. Our goal was to underline the importance of climatic changes and their consequences. The glass and water used are recycled, and the facade keeps the pavilion cool inside. I was part of the team in charge of developing the concept of the Monaco Pavilion. In order to meet the expectations of the Principality and be in compliance with the theme of the Shanghai World Fair, Better City, Better Life, I chose to represent the city-state by highlighting its natural elements. Hence, the reflection of the sun on the sea normally represented by a transparent and glossy water surface, is illustrated here by ripples of water which are reflected on the light pink stone. Numerous daring and surprising projects are coming together in China. My dream is to make the most out of the opportunities presented to me.

Egon est une marque de bagagerie qui mise sur la qualité et l innovation. Elle avait besoin pour se lancer d un produit qui fasse parler d elle, innovant et pensé dans l air du temps. SitOn est un bagage en polycarbonate avec une structure en aluminium très fine, conçu pour que l on s assoie dessus. La marque Egon a été créée en 2008 par General Concept Ltd., société francohongkongaise qui conçoit et fabrique des bagages depuis quinze ans. De nouvelles collections sont en cours de développement. La marque est surtout présente en Asie pour l instant. L idée de SitOn est née d un constat : quels que soient le moyen de transport et la longueur du trajet, le voyageur moderne est contraint d attendre, parfois longtemps. Les quais de gares et les halls d aéroports sont souvent bondés, et l on demeure souvent debout entre deux trajets. SitOn propose simplement de s asseoir sur sa valise, une valise faite aussi pour ça! Sa forme est inspirée du Shogi, petit siège traditionnel japonais. Le concept sera décliné dans d autres collections. J aimerais travailler sur des projets similaires, pour lesquels l innovation fait clairement partie du cahier des charges. Its form is inspired from Shogi, a small, traditional Japanese seat. Egon is a brand of luggage wagering on quality and innovation. For the product launch, it needed something that would get people talking, innovative and representative of its time. SitOn is a piece of luggage made out of polycarbonate with a thin aluminum frame designed for users to sit on it. The Egon brand was created in 2008 by General Concept Ltd., a Franco-Hong Kong company that has been designing and manufacturing luggage for the past fifteen years. New collections are being developed for Egon. The brand is most visible in Asia at the moment. The idea of SitOn was born from an undeniable finding: Whatever the means of transport and length of journey, the modern-day traveler is forced to wait, and sometimes for long periods of time. Train platforms and airport terminals are often overcrowded, and one often remains standing up between two trips. SitOn suggests simply sitting down on your suitcase, a suitcase also designed for that! Its form is inspired from Shogi, a small, traditional Japanese seat. The concept will take on other forms in other collections. In the near future, I would like to work in other areas on similar projects for which innovation is clearly a part of the specifications.

Par exemple, la talonnette qui se clipse sur l avant de l autre sandale pour les rassembler. Pour nous assurer de la légèreté du produit, nous avons eu recours à l injection d EVA, process ensuite repris sur tous les autres modèles de la gamme. Dans le contexte actuel de mondialisation où les cultures se croisent et s influencent, je crois que le défi est de s ouvrir à des expériences internationales, notamment dans des pays émergents. Renewing the earlier model led us to incorporate a water evacuation system as well as simple functions allowing us to set it apart from the others and to create more room for growth. One example is the heel piece, which attaches to the front of the other sandal in order to assemble the two. To ensure lightness of the product, we resorted to the EVA-injection process, which has since been applied to the remaining models in the line. In the current climate of globalization where cultures mix and mingle, I believe that the challenge is to open up to international experiences, most notably in emerging countries.

D une part, un film d accueil diffusé sur un écran géant à l entrée du magasin, visant à accueillir le client et interpeller le passant, créant ainsi le lien entre le monde urbain et l univers SFR. L objectif est de communiquer avec pertinence et lisibilité un message de bienvenue. Et d autre part, la réalisation de films «signalétiques» conçus pour guider et informer sur les différentes facettes de ce magasin innovant aux allures modernes. Notre intention principale est de proposer des animations qui s intègrent parfaitement à l atmosphère dégagée par le lieu et de susciter une certaine convivialité par un message attractif d un fort impact visuel. Sobre et efficace, le style graphique s appuie sur la charte SFR tout en utilisant des éléments proches de la signalétique extérieure. L animation en elle-même est un voyage dans un monde typographique, fluide et dynamique. À l avenir, nous aimerions travailler dans la post-production audiovisuelle (habillage télé, génériques, clips vidéos, effets spéciaux). The animation is a journey through a typographical, fluid and dynamic realm. The project is divided into two main parts. On the one hand, there is a welcome film projected on a big screen near the store entrance, aiming to make the client feel at home and capture the attention of the passer-by, thus creating the link between the urban world and that of SFR. The goal is to convey a welcome message with both relevance and clarity. On the other, there is the making of motion graphic movies, whose role is to explain to and enlighten customers on the various aspects of this modern-bred and fed store. Our primary intention is to offer activities that blend seamlessly into the relaxed atmosphere via the location, and which spark a certain conviviality by means of an attractive message with a high visual impact. Discreet and effective, the graphic style bases itself on the SFR charter, all the while using those elements similar to the external signage. The animation in itself is a journey through a typographical, fluid and dynamic realm. In the future, we would like to work in audio-visual postproduction (T.V. graphics, credits, video clips and special effects).

Ouvert en 2009 dans un immeuble classé, l établissement se veut haut de gamme, chaleureux et accessible. Le concept consiste à casser les codes du fine dining en offrant un service plus détendu, une carte plus accessible dans un espace luxueux et trendy. Le chef réputé Paul Pairet y propose des recettes simples, atypiques avec des saveurs authentiques et originales. Le projet a été réalisé en cinq mois, du design à la construction. Je suis intervenu d une manière globale au sein de ce projet, en concevant les espaces intérieurs ainsi que les produits de table. J ai géré entièrement le projet, du design à la construction. Mon objectif personnel était de mettre en œuvre mes compétences de designer en réalisant un lieu qui puisse rivaliser avec des grands restaurants de renommée internationale. Par la suite, j aimerais prendre en charge entièrement le design d un hôtel, rêve qui devrait bientôt se concrétiser. Je rêve aussi de voir apparaître dans les magasins les produits que je dessine actuellement pour mes clients. The project went from start to finish in the span of only five months. Mr. & Mrs. Bund is a highly esteemed French restaurant in Shanghai. Opened in 2009 in an historical building, the establishment is upscale, cozy and accessible. The concept consists of breaking the conventional rules of fine dining by offering a more relaxed atmosphere and a more accessible menu in a luxurious and trendy space. Celebrity chef Paul Pairet dishes up simple yet atypical recipes, boasting authentic and original flavors. The project went from start to finish in the span of only five months, from conception to construction. I became involved in the project in an overall fashion by designing the interior spaces as well as the tableware items. I managed the project from start to finish, from design to construction. My objective was to apply my designer skills by materializing a place that could compete with internationallyrenowned restaurants. Later on, I would like to take on the entire design of a hotel, a dream which should shortly come to life. I also dream of seeing in stores the products that I currently sketch for my clients.

Installé dans un Orange Store, il permet au client de consulter les fiches des mobiles et de trouver facilement le modèle le plus adapté à ses besoins et envies. L idée première est de simplifier et rendre ludique l achat du mobile tout en facilitant la recherche du client. Destinée à un public jeune et averti, l application emprunte aux codes de l univers musical et confère à l utilisateur autonomie et liberté de choix. Sa ligne graphique est simple et épurée, conformément à la charte Orange. Mon projet rêvé serait un projet de conception de services qui ferait appel à la fois au design produit et au design d interactivité. Par exemple, une table de salon tactile multi usages (programme télé, jeux, media center ). Mix Your Mobile is a touch-screen application, which guides the user in the choice of a mobile phone based on a series of criteria. Once the functional preferences are inputted via a console, the tool then provides potential matches. Available in an Orange Store, it allows the customer to consult the mobile phone fact sheets, and easily find the model best adapted to the individual s needs. The idea is to simplify and make enjoyable the purchase of a mobile phone by easing the research process for the customer. Appealing to a young and technologicallysavvy public, the application incorporates catchy ringtones, and offers the user autonomy and freedom of choice. Its graphic style is simple and sleek and in accordance with Orange s charter. My dream project would be a service design project appealing to both Product and Interaction Design. One example would be in the form of a multipurpose, tactile dining room table (T.V. programs, games, media center, etc.).

Lors de la refonte de la nouvelle identité de sa marque «T» en 2009, SK Telecom, premier opérateur de télécommunication mobile sud-coréen, avait pour ambition d intégrer dans l ensemble de ses gammes de téléphones une animation mettant en valeur le produit lors des quelques secondes qui précèdent sa mise en marche. Le nouveau logo joue désormais avec les perspectives et l espace, à l image du célèbre ruban de Möbius. Sous sa forme simple se cache une structure à la fois complexe et polymorphe qui permet une animation particulière dans des téléphones ayant des spécificités différentes. Cet exemple d application m a donc permis de retranscrire dans des animations finales la complexité que cache le logo tout en confortant mon point de vue sur ces notions de couche et de construction qu il représente. Durant ces trois dernières années, il m a été possible de développer des concepts d interaction, des interfaces, des animations, pour baladeurs mp3, télévisions, téléphones, GPS Mon champ d action ne cesse de s élargir, pour sortir de l écran finalement. L un de mes souhaits serait de continuer dans cette voie. Under its seemingly simple form hides a more complex and polymorphic entity. At the time when the brand T was undergoing new construction regarding its identity in 2009, SK Telecom, leading South Korean mobile communications operator, had its sights set on integrating into the whole of its telephone range a brief animation highlighting the product s features as the phone is being turned on. The new logo, resembling the well-known Möbius strip, now plays with perspective and space. Under its seemingly simple form hides a more complex and polymorphic entity allowing a special type of animation in telephones displaying different specificities. This application, therefore, allowed me to recopy into the final animations the complexity hidden in the logo, all the while reassuring my take on the notions of layer and construction involved there within. During these past three years, I had the opportunity to develop interaction concepts, interfaces and animations for mp3 players, televisions, telephones, GPS, etc. My scope is continually expanding, in an effort to, ultimately, go beyond the screen. One of my wishes would be to keep heading in this direction.

Inauguré en juin 2006, le musée du quai Branly s attache à donner la pleine mesure de l importance des Arts et Civilisations non occidentales. Situé en bord de Seine, le musée conçu par l architecte Jean Nouvel se veut un lieu de dialogue, carrefour d échanges entre le public, les chercheurs, les étudiants et les créateurs contemporains. Deux ans après l ouverture au public, un remaniement de la signalétique s est avéré nécessaire. De la refonte de la signalétique est né un système plus cohérent et en adéquation avec les attentes des visiteurs. Nous avons conçu une gamme normée servant de repère d orientation dans le musée : une couleur de fond, une typographie et un design basé sur un principe de lames métalliques. Ces lames semblent pousser hors du sol et au travers des murs du musée comme un guide pour le visiteur. Au-delà de Paris, nous avons vécu une autre belle aventure avec le Museum of Islamic Art de Doha, au Qatar. Aux côtés de Jean-Michel Wilmotte, nous avons défini l identité visuelle, la muséographie et la signalétique de ce magnifique édifice dessiné par Ieoh Ming Pei. We designed a standardised line to be used as orientation markers in the museum. Inaugurated in June of 2006, the Musée du quai Branly has been devoted to attributing the utmost importance to non-western Arts and Civilizations. Seated along the Seine River, the museum conceived by the architect Jean Nouvel considers itself a place of dialogue, a crossroads of exchange among the public, researchers, students and contemporary artists. Two years after its opening to the public, a restructuration of the signage proved necessary. Out of redoing the signage was born a more coherent system, and one in line with visitor expectations. We designed a standardised line to be used as orientation markers in the museum: A background color, a typography and design based on a principle of metallic blades. These blades appear to be growing both out of the floor and through the walls of the museum like a guide for the visitor. Beyond the streets of Paris, we embarked on yet another great adventure which led us to the Doha Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar. Alongside Jean-Michel Wilmotte, we worked on defining the visual identity, the museum collection repertoire and the signage of this magnificent edifice drawn up by Ieoh Ming Pei.

Pourquoi le grand âge ne vivrait-il pas dans un cadre contemporain? Partant de cette observation, le service intégré du promoteur innovant Cybèle Concept a imaginé un nouveau concept global pour maisons de retraite. Mené de concert avec tous les acteurs d encadrement et de soins, ce projet propose de nouveaux espaces de vie adaptés aux besoins des résidents. La résidence de Jonzac en Charente est une des réalisations du groupe en France. J ai plaisir à concevoir des espaces destinés à accueillir du public pour les secteurs de l hébergement ou du loisir. Tan leather for the fireplace nook, white for that of the television and a soft Nattier blue around the suspended aquarium. A clear-cut choice regarding both furniture and accessories makes for a harmonious layout. The eye slides unhindered as it seeks to pinpoint strategically positioned poles around a mahogany-bordered bar. Elegance and soft lighting reflect a remarkably peaceful ambiance. Why wouldn t the elderly live in a contemporary setting? Taking off from this observation, the in-house service of the innovative promoter Cybèle Concept has devised a new global concept for nursing homes and assisted living environments. Accompanied by managers and care professionals, this project is able to offer new life spaces adapted to the needs of residents. The résidence de Jonzac in Charente is just one of these examples carried out by the group in France. I take pleasure in designing spaces for the accommodation and leisure sectors. I dream of designing ferry-boat decors.

L objectif de ce projet était de remplacer le moteur de la machine par un second, respectant les nouvelles normes anti-pollution. Ce dernier étant plus volumineux, nous avons dû refondre le capot, tout en veillant à concilier esthétique et technique. Ainsi, il a fallu prendre soin de limiter au maximum l effet de lourdeur visuelle lié au volume imposé, tout en suivant un cahier des charges précis. Thierry Lehmann, responsable du design, m a beaucoup appris en ce qui concerne la conception, d un point de vue à la fois technique et esthétique. Il m a transmis la passion des surfaces complexes, principalement en automobile où l on retrouve une élite, une expertise du design. Il faut analyser une carrosserie à la loupe pour en comprendre la complexité, la maîtrise des lignes vives, des jeux de lumière, des reflets liés aux formes. Avec la création d Oakoo, je me suis lancé un défi : rassembler des créatifs et, au travers de règles strictes d adhésion, apporter une notion d échange et de convivialité dans un domaine concurrentiel important. The second engine being more substantial in volume, the hood had to be reworked, all the while ensuring a balance between aesthetic and technical aspects. To do so, great care was needed to limit as much as possible the effect of visual weight linked to the imposed volume, while respecting the specifications. Thierry Lehmann, Head of Design, taught me a lot about conception from both the technical and aesthetic standpoints. He passed down to me his passion for complex surfaces, for the most part in the automobile industry where one encounters an elite, a design expertise. Analyzing a car body under a magnifying glass is indispensable in order to grasp its complexity, the mastery of its lines, lighting and reflections with respect to the bodywork. With the creation of the Oakoo, I set forth a challenge: bring together creative minds, and in accordance with strict membership rules, provide a means for exchange and conviviality in a highly competitive field. Such is my vision of the future in our business.

Grâce à ce logiciel, chacun peut modéliser simplement ses idées. Il fonctionne également comme un modeleur architectural simple pour Microsoft Virtual Earth. De plus, c est le premier produit de la marque à avoir été conçu pour une plateforme on-line, ce qui permet un usage nomade et un partage des créations. Il a fallu convaincre l ensemble des acteurs du projet de la nécessité d une vision d ensemble cohérente. Nous avons réalisé une interface simple, vivante et facile à prendre en main afin que les utilisateurs s approprient l outil sans intervention extérieure. J ai beaucoup apprécié la collaboration avec la R&D lors de la réalisation de CATIA V6, car j ai pu prouver l importance de la fonction design dans la conception logicielle. Cette constatation a débouché sur la création du design studio, sous la supervision d Anne Asensio, designer d exception qui nous démontre comment transformer une grande entreprise grâce à une stratégie design. At Dassault Systèmes, prior to 3DVIA, not one project had ever had the opportunity to benefit from designer input. It took convincing all of those involved in the project of the need for a coherent vision of togetherness. We carried out a simple interface, lively and easy to adopt so that the users could take advantage of the tool without requiring outside help. I enjoyed working with the R&D department during the CATIA V6 project, for I was able to prove the importance of the design function in the software development stage. This observation led to the creation of a design studio, under the supervision of Anne Asensio, an outstanding designer who demonstrated for us how to transform a large corporation thanks to a design strategy.
