2 ORGANIZATION Language and culture courses: every day from 9:00 AM to 12:PM from Monday to Friday 2 workshops: every afternoon except Wednesday from 1: PM to 3:00 or 4:00 PM. PEDAGOGY A qualified team of dynamic FFL (French as a Foreign Language) teachers. No more than 18 students per group. Fully equipped classrooms with modern and efficient audio and visual equipment. Communicative exchanges between students with a task-based approach. A language learning center where individual support, conversation workshops and assistance are provided for the students. With thirty years of experience, the International Summer University of Nice is accredited: Label qualité français langue étrangère flǝ. PROGRAM LANGUAGE COURSES GOALS You will improve your oral communication. You will improve your written language. You will develop your everyday, academic and professional vocabulary. WORKSHOPS GOALS You will improve your cultural knowledge and reinforce your methodological skills for academic purposes. Examples of workshops: A1 Level: oral practice, French culture A2 Level: spelling development, French gastronomy, oral practice, French songs B1 Level: French for business studies, legal French, cinema, French civilization through media, French oral skills for tourism, travel log book, lexical development, theater, creative writing, Press and News, preparation for the TCF certification (Test of French as a Foreign Language) B2, C1, C2 Levels: Morphosyntactic development, oral and written methodological skills for academic purposes, film criticism, Mediterranean antiquity, aesthetics and philosophy, Nice and the French Riviera History and heritage, French for the European relations, great political French figures, 2 / 8

6 CULTURAL ACTIVITIES Cultural activities with guides are proposed after class and every Saturday. The best way to discover museums and main cities of the French Riviera. CERTIFICATION PLACEMENT TEST Before classes start, you will be assessed through an online placement test to determine your level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). CERTIFICATION LEVEL (attendance reserve) During the last week of the session, you will take a final test which will attest of your position on one of the six levels on the competency scale defined by the CEFR. ECTS CREDITS (Attendance reserve) 2 ECTS per language and culture morning class. 1 ECTS per workshop of the afternoon. CERTIFICATION EVALUATION Le TCF TP: July 20th and August 10th at 2:00PM on the campus (80 ) L'UIEN is a certificative center of this certification and will prepare you for the test with workshops adapted to your needs. 6 / 8

7 INDIVIDUALIZED SUPPORT An introduction day at UIEN with information meeting, welcoming buffet, campus visit, meeting with teachers, teaching and lessons presentation A pedagogical management at your disposal for your academic career. A pedagogical and technical team at your disposal during your stay to help you prepare your summer school and your academic stay, (housing proposal in Nice, free shuttle form the airport / train station to your residence, the campus booklet with a lot of information about transportation, restaurants, FEES 825 for one session including 75 hours of teaching. 10% discount for groups of students (10 or more) managed and administered by a single entity such as a university, an institute or a school.
