Elle a travaillé en Afrique, en Amérique Centrale et au Cambodge avec différentes organismes internationales. OLEXANDR BUTSENKO Olexandr Butsenko is a director of the Development Centre Democracy through Culture, NGO/think tank located in Kyiv (Ukraine), member of European Cultural Parliament; associate professor (project and programme management) of the National Academy for Managers in Culture and Art (Kyiv). He is an active writer, researcher, trainer, coach, journalist, art critic, translator, and lecturer. Expert on cultural policies and development strategies, adviser of parliament and ministerial committees; author of books of poems, monographs on artists, translations of prose and poetry from English and Spanish, as well as author of a set of essays and articles in national and international media on cultural policy, cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. He has also worked as an initiator and coordinator of various international projects in Ukraine, and as curator of different art exhibitions. BRUNO CIANCIO The interest of Mr. Ciancio in diversity and inclusion starts way back in the 1960s as a second generation Italian / Australian with a clear and explicit involvement going right through the mid-1970s and the struggles to achieve a multicultural Australia. This involvement has always accompanied him through his work as a health care manager first and then as a lecturer and consultant in the health science and the impact of diversity within a multiethnic environment. He set up the first Transcultural master program in Victoria in Mr. Ciancio migrated to Italy for
3 family reasons in 1988 and has continued his work and teaching in the field of diversity and inclusion. At present he works as a Prof. at the University of Modena being responsible for the Transcultural master s program and teaches at the University of Shanghai in the master s summer program and is a senior manager for the Policlinico of Modena. He is a local govt. councilor for the small Intercultural city of Castelvetro with responsibility for social, welfare and integration services and councilor for the consortium of councils (Unione Terre di Castelli) within his area where he covers the role of president of the 111 commission for health and social services. Mr. Ciancio has been an Intercultural Cities Expert with the Council of Europe program since PAUL CHAPMAN European Projects Manager, London Borough of Lewisham is a Lewisham resident and has been working for the Council since He is responsible for promoting Lewisham in Europe through developing bids for EU funds and building partnership links to participate in European projects and networks relevant to the overall aims and strategies of the Council. Over the past 12 years this has resulted in accessing over 1.5m worth of project funding. He is the coordinator of Lewisham s involvement in the Intercultural Cities network and has previous relevant experience in EU projects focused on entrepreneurship for migrants and social enterprises for cultural industries. He is currently the project coordinator of the European River Corridor Improvement Plans (ERCIP) project funded through Interreg IVC. He is a keen musician (vocals), cook (Italian) and armchair cricket and football fan (England/Spurs) and is kept busy outside work by his three teenage sons. ADIL EL MAROUKHI Born in Casablanca, he studied Economics and Law at the University of Aix en Provence (France), at the University of Modena, and at the University of Bologna. Expert in cultural processes of integration, he has been a member of the Reggio Emilia s Provincial Council on Immigration and in charge of the Bureau of Immigrant Workers at the CGIL local branch. He has taught intercultural education in every kind of school and in some academic master. He has also participated in the drafting of the Multilingual Handbook of the Police Headquarters in Reggio Emilia. In 2001, he actively contributed to the birth and growth of the Intercultural Centre Mondinsieme of the City of Reggio Emilia, of which he is the Director since ELADIO FERNANDEZ-GALIANO An ecologist and environmentalist by training (9 years at Madrid University as research fellow and assistant professor in Ecology), he has worked since 1985 for the Council of Europe mainly on environment and disaster risk reduction issues, first as Secretary of a European Wildlife Convention (the Bern Convention), as Head of the Environment Division and also as Executive Secretary of the European and Mediterranean Major Hazards Agreement (EUR-OPA), a platform of cooperation between European and Southern Mediterranean states in major natural and technological hazards. In the framework of his responsibilities in the environment sector he was in charge from 1998 until 2012 of the Unit of Biological Diversity. Since January 2013 he is in charge of a number of other varied programmes, including Intercultural Cities, Civil Society, the World Forum of Democracy and Cultural Routes. Among the instruments he helped prepare were the European Landscape Convention, over a hundred recommendations and policy documents on risk management and environment, and was responsible for the preparation of Ministerial Conferences in Biodiversity and Major Risk. Main field of competence: risk management, biological diversity and other environment/sustainable development issues.
4 OLIVER FREEMAN Oliver Freeman is a British-Swiss consultant in intercultural management and local governance. After studying politics, Russian, East European history and public administration in Switzerland (Lausanne - Geneva), Poland (Wroclaw - Warsaw - Cracow) and the UK (Oxford) he has held various academic and professional positions. After the collapse of the communist regimes Mr Freeman worked in Poland as an adviser on local government reform and set up the Polish office of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. Since 2001 he is based in Switzerland where he served for seven years as Commissioner for the integration of migrants of the city of Lausanne. He also co-chaired the Swiss conference of integration commissioners and designed the integration strategies of the canton of Fribourg and the cities of Lausanne and Geneva. Mr Freeman speaks fluent English, French, German and Polish and has working knowledge of many other European languages. Among his current assignments he works for the Federal Office for Migration in Bern and as an advisor and evaluator of the Lublin for All project, a project funded by the Swiss government as part of the Swiss- Polish Cooperation Programme. Since 2010 he has been serving as a consultant and expert of the Intercultural Cities programme, a joint action of the Council of Europe and the European Commission. As such he has done fieldwork, provided technical expertise and moderated workshops in Bakou-AZ, Basel- CH, Brussels-BE, Geneva-CH, Lewisham-UK, Lisbon-PT, Limassol-CY, Lublin-PL, Lutsk-UA, Lyon-FR, Neuchâtel-CH, Oslo-NO, Patras- GR, Pecs-HU, Reggio Emilia-IT, Tampere-FI and Valletta-MT. Son champ d intérêt porte sur les questions de transnationalisme; migration et développement ; politiques migratoires ; gouvernance et sécurité humaine en Afrique. Chercheur à la Haute École Spécialisée de la Suisse Occidentale (HES-SO)-Haute école de travail social (HETS) de Genève, il a réalisé plusieurs mandats de recherche pour divers organismes nationaux et internationaux. Il est l auteur de publications qui ont porté sur migration et développement, migrants qualifiés et marché de l emploi, jeunes africains et migration irrégulière. Ibrahima GUISSE est membre de plusieurs réseaux de recherche et de plates-formes de la société civile internationale. Il préside depuis mars 2013 la Plateforme Migration et Développement, un regroupement de plusieurs associations de migrants qui se veut un Think-Tank sur les questions de migration et développement en partenariat avec la Fédération Genevoise de Coopération (FGC).
5 ANNE GULLER-FREY University Degree, University of Applied Sciences, Munich. Since 2005, Anne Guller-Frey has been the Transnational Coordinator for the network IQ - migranet (Integration through Qualification and responsible for transnational networking. Next to this she worked in different trans-national projects like MEET (EQUAL), and IMPACT (INTI). Between she developed a media campaign with the slogan recognition now! - Integration begins at work - with the focus on recognition of foreign qualifications. Since she is the transnational coordinator of the network migranet, she is also a member of the steering-group of the German Canadian partnership. Besides this she is a member of the advisory board on integration of the Bavarian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. Furthermore she is Intercultural Trainer and Management Consultant for the City of Munich. As transnational coordinator she has dealt with the following EU programs: EQUAL, XENOS, other ESF, ERF, EIF, INTI, Leonardo, Grundtvig, and Interreg. Prior to this she managed the migration department at a charity organization and was the representative at regional, national and international level. MAUREEN GEORGES-HIGGS After working on international pipeline projects, British lawyers and American TV in Paris, moved to Strasbourg to work with the Council of Europe. She has worked in sectors covering environment, youth, sport and culture. She joined the ICC Joint programme in In 2013 whilst continuing the work of the ICC programme, she has followed Irena Guidikova to join the Democratic Forum activities as part of the newly created Democratic Initiatives Department (DID). ANNA JURYS initiative. Anna Jurys is a graduate from Applied Linguistics at Marie Curie University in Lublin. She worked for the University Foundation as IT and graphic design trainings organizer and language school manager. Two years ago she joined the Investor Assistance team at Lublin City Hall where she is responsible for international business relations and modern business services sector. Her interests include intercultural education, foreign language teaching and folk art. In her free time she actively participates in the cultural life of Lublin supporting musical and theatrical THIJS MALMBERG Thijs Malmberg is a public policy consultant; after working for the central Dutch government as director for youth policy and director for social policy he has worked from 2000 till 2012 as a manager of the public management consultancy unit of the firm Ordina; since October 2012 he is an independent consultant and advisor for the public field (central government, provinces, cities, inspectorates and NGO's) in the Netherlands and abroad. He is also active as a board member of national and international NGO s, organizer of international learning experiences, and as an expert for the Council of Europe for the Intercultural Cities program.
6 VIRGINIE MORLET French born Virginie Morlet has lived the past 13 years in Denmark, from where she holds a bachelor s degree in project management from Copenhagen University College of Engineering and a Master s degree in History of Arts from the University of Copenhagen with a specific focus on transmission of cultural heritage to Diaspora children. Virginie has many years of experience working with young refugees in Red Cross centers for UMA (Unaccompanied Minors Asylum seekers) in Denmark. She dedicated her work building bridges between the young refugees and the Danish society. Virginie is currently working as Program Manager of the International Talent Lab initiative, a pilot project launched by the municipality of Copenhagen in partnership with Copenhagen Talent Bridge and Entrepreneurship in Denmark. The International Talent Lab project is the municipality of Copenhagen's special initiative to make use of the unique skills of people born abroad to increase foreign trade, create more jobs and generate higher growth. ISABEL OBADIARU Ms. Isabel Obadiaru is Project Manager at the Association for the Promotion of Human Rights (APHR), a non-governmental organisation based in Geneva. She graduated with honours from the University Institute of Oriental Studies of Naples (Italy), with majors in Arabic and African Studies and holds an International Master Degree in Cooperation and Development from the European School for Advanced Studies in Cooperation and Development (University of Pavia, Italy). Ms. Obadiaru worked for various international and non-governmental organisations, carrying out advocacy and research activities on human rights, migration and development studies. In her current capacity, she works on projects aimed at facilitating migrants integration and at promoting human rights and inter-cultural dialogue. Ms. Obadiaru represents the Association for the Promotion of Human Rights in various platforms at local and at the international level e.g Global Forum on Migration and Development, UN High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development, Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants, Platform on Migration and Development (Geneva Federation for Cooperation). CAROLINE PIFFARETTI Caroline Piffaretti, conseillère en création d'activités économiques et chargée de communication Essaim, l'incubateur de la Chambre de l'économie sociale et solidaire, APRÈS-GE. Après une licence en géographie humaine à l'université de Genève et un master en développement durable, Caroline Piffaretti a travaillé pendant 6 ans dans le domaine du commerce équitable. Après une expérience de consultante pour les associations et organisations à but non lucratif, elle a rejoint la Chambre de l'économie sociale et solidaire, APRÈS-GE en tant conseillère en création d'activités économiques et chargée de communication pour l'incubateur Essaim. CECILE RIALLANT Cécile Riallant is a migration expert with 16 years of experience in this line of work. She is currently working as Programme Manager of the Joint Migration and Development Initiative, an inter-agency programme administered by UNDP and implemented in partnership with IOM, ILO, UNHCR, UN Women and UNFPA. She joined the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Brussels in 2000, after three years of working as a researcher and consultant on projects funded by the European Commission in the Justice and Home Affairs area. She managed for IOM
7 numerous programmes and projects in the field of migration with geographical scope in the Great Lakes (Africa), Afghanistan and Central and Eastern Europe. From 2005 to 2008, she was Deputy Chief of Mission of the IOM Mission in Indonesia, working to support populations internally displaced by the 2004 tsunami in North Sumatra. She supervised as well IOM country-based activities in the fields of labor migration, migration and development, migration and health and counter-trafficking. She holds a Bachelor degree in Political Science from the Institut d'etudes Politiques, a Master of Science in European Studies from the University of Strasbourg and a Master of Science in Social Policies from the London School of Economics. LUCY RIGAL Peruvian born, she holds a Bachelor's degree in Education Sciences and a Master's degree in Communication and Development from the University of Paris, and also studied Political Sciences at the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris. After graduating, she moved to Oslo where she studied business administration at BI Norwegian Business School. She then founded Latin Communication, a company specialized in cross cultural communication consultancy and tailored foreign languages courses for major Norwegian organizations and companies, giving career opportunities to migrant executives. She has worked as a writer, lecturer, and adviser for Norwegian publishers, hospitals, high schools and the Oslo University College. As Special adviser at the City of Oslo s Agency for Business Development Services, she will lead projects targeted at migrant entrepreneurs. SANDRINE SALERNO Mrs Sandrine Salerno is Mayor of the City of Geneva. Besides being the Head of the Department of Finance and Housing, she is also in charge of the City of Geneva s policies regarding sustainable development, diversity, equality and economic development. In addition, Mrs Salerno is responsible for the Human Resources and Procurement policies, and she represents the City s government within the diplomatic and international circles in Geneva. Born in 1971 to a French mother and an Italian father, she is the mother of two children. Elected to the executive body of the City of Geneva as a representative of the Socialist Party, she holds a Bachelor degree in Political Science and a Master in Public Administration from the University of Geneva. Before being elected to the executive body of the City of Geneva, Sandrine Salerno worked as the Deputy Chief of the Europe Third World Centre (CETIM), in the Human Rights Programme ( ), a Coordinator at the Swiss-Immigrants Contact Centre ( ), a researcher at the University of Geneva ( ) and then as the Deputy Head in the unit of University Affairs at the Department of Education of the Canton of Geneva ( ). Mrs Salerno s political career began when she became a member of the Town Council for the City of Geneva ( ), where, among many other commitments, she was a member of the Financial Commission. At the same time, she was also Chairwoman of the City section of the Socialist Party in Geneva. It is in June 2007 that she was elected to the City s executive Council. 8 NINIAN VAN BLYENBURGH Diplômé en biologie et docteur en anthropologie Ninian van Blyenburgh a travaillé durant plus de vingt ans dans des musées de société et d anthropologie. Il a conçu plusieurs expositions sur des thématiques touchant à la diversité humaine comme «Tous parents, tous différents», «6 milliards d Hommes» et «Nous Autres». Il a publié de nombreux articles sur la muséologie et la didactique de l anthropologie et promeut l'enseignement général de cette discipline. Actuellement collaborateur scientifique au sein du Service Agenda 21 de la Ville de Genève, il est en charge des politiques publiques de la Ville en matière de diversité. Il développe avec la Fondation «Lilian Thuram, d éducation contre le racisme» un projet intitulé «Être humain» qui a pour objectif de vulgariser pour le grand public les enseignements fondamentaux de l anthropologie biologique et culturelle. THIBAULD WILLETTE Né en 1971 à Grenoble, Diplômé d'un DEA d'histoire contemporaine de l'université Jean Moulin, puis Doctorant à l'institut d'etudes Politiques de Paris, programme europe post-communiste, thèse portant sur les problématiques politique-religion orthodoxe en Roumanie.
