1 Jogging Brake kit 2.0 Congratulations on purchasing the Jogging Brake Kit.This new jogging brake is designed to be easier to use and comes with an integrated front fender to help keep your Chariot clean. Initial Assembly time: About 5 to 10 minutes. Tools Required: - Philips head screwdriver - 3/8 (10mm) wrench - 7/16 (11mm) wrench - 3/16 (5mm) Allen Key Note: Any reference to orientation (left or right) is from the passenger s point of view while in the carrier. A. Installing the Brake Bar to Your Carrier 1. Insert the brake bar into the channels of the wheel arm attachment brackets located under the carrier. The channels are located directly under the openings where you insert the jogging arms. Position the brake bar such that the brake is in front of the carrier. See Figure Insert the bolts, from the outside in, through the rear slot in the channel and through the rear hole in the brake bar. See Figure Place a nut over the ends of the bolts and securely tighten the nuts using a 7/16 (11mm) wrench and screwdriver. See Figure3. Note: Do not over tighten, as the brake bar must be able to rotate. Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3 B. Securing and Storing the Brake Bar 1. To secure the brake bar in its use position, from the outside in, insert the pins attached to the web straps through the forward slots in the channel and through the forward hole in the brake bar. See Figure When you are not using the brake kit, the brake bar can be stored by pivoting it under the carrier. To do this, remove the two pins, turn the fender sideways, and pivot the brake bar 180 degrees under the carrier. Using the Velcro strap attached to the bottom of the carrier, secure the brake kit. See Figure 5. Note: Before each use, check to ensure the Velcro straps are still snug. 3. To keep the pins from dangling free, insert the pins through the holes in the brake bar, from the inside out. 2 C. Routing the Cable 1. Thread the cable up through the gap between the lower frame and the fabric body on the right side of the carrier and then over the front web strap that secures the fabric body to the carrier s lower frame. See Figure For single carriers, route the cable under the rear web strap on the carrier (where the finger is pointing). See Figure 8. For a double carrier, do not route the cable under the rear anchor strap, as the cable is not long enough for these carriers. Note: The carrier in the picture is a double carrier so the strap is not routed under the rear web strap. 3. Thread the cable up through the fabric sleeve on the right side of the carrier and then route it rearward under the cover. See Figure 9. Figure 7 Figure 8 Figure 9 D. Securing the Hand Lever to the Carrier s Handlebar 1. Place the semi-circle shaped shim around the handlebar between the two foam grips in the centre of the handlebar. Secure the hand lever over the shim and on to the handlebar. This is a left hand lever so the lever should point to the left. See Figure 10 Note: The hand lever on CX carriers must be attached to the left end on the handlebar, in the same manner the right hand lever is installed. 2. To connect the cable to the lever, slack is required in the cable. To get this, squeeze the brake calipers shut with your hand and then install the end of the cable into the opening in the bottom side of the lever. Note: Ensure that both ends of the black cable housing are properly seated in their respective cups. See Figure 11. Figure 10 Figure 11 Shim E. Making Final Brake Adjustments 1. Install the jogging arms into the wheel arm attachment brackets and secure the front wheel to the jogger arms. Fit the wheel between the brake calipers. See Figure 12. Note: There is a lever that opens the calipers which makes it easier to insert and remove the wheel. Once the wheel is inserted into the brake, make sure this lever is closed. Make the following adjustments with this lever in the closed position. See Figure 13. Figure 13 shows it in the open position. 2. If necessary, adjust the brake pads on the calipers so that they fully contact the rim of the wheel. Loosen the nuts that secure the brake pads with the 3/8 (10mm) wrench, adjust the pads, and retighten the nuts. See Figure 14.

3 Figure 12 Figure 13 Figure Adjust the cable tension so that the brake pads are close to, but do not contact the rim of the wheel when the hand lever is not actuated. To make minor cable tension adjustments, rotate one or both barrel adjuster nuts, which are located where the ends of the brake housing connects to the brake calipers and to the hand lever. See Figure If larger adjustments are necessary, re-tension the brake cable by loosening the nut that secures the cables with a 3/8 (10mm) wrench. Either loosen the cable to move the brake pads away from the wheel s rim, or pull the cable tighter to move them closer. See Figure Test the brakes before using the carrier to ensure the brake is achieving good stopping power. Figure 15 Figure 16 F. Safety Warnings Never in-line skate with the Jogging Kit. A serious accident could occur resulting in serious injury or death. Always use the parking brake when jogging stroller is stationary. Always use seat belts. Use wrist safety strap at all times. Ensure that the brake works effectively before loading children and using.

Temps d assemblage la première fois : de cinq à 10 minutes Outils requis : - Tournevis à tête Philips - Clé de 10 mm (3/8 po) - Clé de 11 mm (7/16 po) - Clé Allen de 5 mm (3/16 po) Remarque : La référence au sens (gauche ou droite) est donnée à partir du point de vue du passager assis dans le transporteur. A. Installation de la tige du frein sur le transporteur 1. Insérer la tige du frein dans les rainures des attaches du bras de la roue situées sous le transporteur. Ces rainures sont situées directement sous les ouvertures où s insèrent les bras du transporteur. Placer la tige du frein de manière à ce que le frein soit à l avant du transporteur. Voir figure Insérer les boulons, à partir de l extérieur, par la fente arrière dans la rainure et l ouverture dans la tige du frein. Voir figure Fixer un écrou aux extrémités des boulons et bien le serrer avec une clé de 11 mm (7/16 po). Remarque : Ne pas trop serrer les écrous car la tige du frein doit pouvoir tourner. Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3 B. Fixer et ranger la tige du frein 1. Pour fixer la tige du frein dans sa position d utilisation, à partir de l extérieur, insérer les broches des sangles par les ouvertures dans la rainure puis la tige du frein. Voir figure Lorsque la trousse de frein n est pas utilisée, ranger la tige du frein en la faisant pivoter sous le transporteur. Pour cela, retirer les deux broches avant, tourner le garde-boue de côté et faire pivoter la tige du frein de 180 degrés. Fixer la tige du frein au moyen de la sangle Velcro fixée au bas du transporteur. Voir figure 5 3. Pour empêcher les broches de pendiller, les insérer dans les trous avant de la tige du frein à partir de l intérieur. Voir figure 6. Figure 4 Figure 5 Figure 6

5 C. Routage du câble 1. Faire passer le câble dans l ouverture entre le cadre inférieur et l habitacle en tissu sur le côté droit du transporteur, puis par-dessus la sangle en tissu qui fixe l habitacle au cadre inférieur du transporteur. Voir figure Pour les transporteurs à une place, faire passer le câble sous l arrière de la sangle d ancrage du transporteur. Voir figure 8. Pour les transporteurs à deux places, ne pas faire passer le câble sous la sangle d ancrage arrière parce que le câble n est pas assez long pour ces transporteurs. 3. Faire passer le câble dans la coulisse en tissu sur le côté droit du transporteur par en arrière sous la toile. Voir figure 9. Figure 7 Figure 8 Figure 9 D. Fixation du levier au guidon du transporteur 1. Placer la cale en forme de demi-cercle au centre du guidon entre les deux poignées en mousse. Fixer le levier au-dessus de la cale et au guidon. L image montre le levier de gauche; il doit donc pointer vers la gauche. Voir figure 10. Remarque : Le levier pour les transporteurs CX doit être fixé à l extrémité du guidon comme le levier qui est déjà fixé au transporteur. 2. Pour le relier au levier, le câble doit être lâche. Pour ce faire, serrer les étriers de frein avec la main et insérer l extrémité du câble dans l ouverture du côté inférieur du levier. Veiller à ce que les deux extrémités de la gaine noire du câble soient correctement insérées dans les ouvertures. Voir figure 11. Figure 10 Figure 11 Cale E. Réglage final du frein 1. Installer les bras du transporteur dans les attaches du bras de la roue et fixer la roue avant au bras du transporteur. Glisser la roue entre les étriers de freins. Voir figure 12. Remarque : Il y a un levier qui ouvre les étriers, facilitant l insertion et le retrait de la roue. Veiller à ce que le levier soit fermé une fois que la roue est en place dans le frein. Voir figure Au besoin, régler les patins sur les étriers de manière à toucher complètement la jante de la roue. Desserrer les écrous qui gardent les patins en place au moyen d une clé de 10 mm (3/8 po), régler les patins et resserrer les écrous. Voir figure 14.

6 Figure 12 Figure 13 Figure Régler la tension du câble de sorte que les patins soient près sans toutefois toucher la jante de la roue si le levier n est pas activé. Pour faire de petits réglages, faire tourner un ou les deux écrous de réglage à portée cylindrique se trouvant à l extrémité où les freins rejoignent les étriers et le levier. Voir figure Si des réglages plus importants sont nécessaires, rétablir la tension du câble en desserrant l écrou qui fixe le câble au moyen de la clé de 10 mm (3/8 po). Desserrer le câble ou le serrer davantage pour ramener les patins plus près de la jante de la roue. Voir figure Vérifier les freins avant de les utiliser pour s assurer qu ils fonctionnent correctement. Figure 15 Figure 16 Mise En Garde Ne jamais faire de patinage à roues alignées avec la poussette. Ce genre d'activité pourrait occasionner un accident et des blessures graves ou mortelles. Toujours mettre le frein lorsque la remorque est immobilisée. Utiliser la ceinture de sécurité en tout temps. Utiliser la courroie de sécurité (poignet) en tout temps. S assurer que le frein fonctionne comme il se doit avant de placer des enfants dans la poussette.
