3 JOËLLE DESJARDINS PAQUETTE RÉALISATRICE / DIRECTOR Scénariste et réalisatrice, Joëlle aime le cinéma qui fait sourire l esprit. Son travail en fiction est basé sur la recherche d un sens poétique dans la vie quotidienne qu elle transpose de façon décalée dans ses projets. Mettant l accent sur une esthétique formelle et graphique, elle fait entrer le spectateur dans un monde poético-absurde qui lui est propre, mêlant humour gris et fantaisie. Ses films voguent entre le drame humain et la comédie grinçante. Après un séjour d études cinématographiques à Bordeaux, en France, elle complète un baccalauréat en cinéma à l UQAM en Elle réalise ensuite plusieurs courts métrages de fiction qui se sont démarqués sur le circuit festivalier, dont Paparmane (TIFF Canada s Top ; Best Comedy Award - Yorkton Film Festival) et plus récemment Sans dehors ni dedans (Grand prix du jury - Festival des films de la relève 2014). Joëlle vient de compléter son plus récent courtmétrage, Flots Gris, sélectionné au Festival International du Film de Rotterdam Parallèlement à son travail en cinéma, Joëlle évolue en tant que réalisatrice en télévision et publicité. Her fiction work is inspired by everyday poetry that she transposes in her art in an offbeat manner. Her formal and graphic aesthetics carries the audience into a elegant and absurd world of its own, combining gray humor and fantasy. Her films sail between humanist drama and black comedy. After a stint of film studies in Bordeaux, France, Joëlle completed a BFA at UQAM in She began her film career with the release of two shorts that have earned accolades on the festival circuit, Wintergreen (TIFF Canada's Top , Best Comedy Award - Yorkton Film Festival) and more recently Within & Without (Grand Jury Prize - Festival des films de la relève 2014). Her new short film Flots gris (Beyond Blue Waves) is selected at IFFR 2016 in Rotterdam.
