1 SPAS / SAPS RESOLUTIONS FINALES - FINAL RESOLUTIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY CONDUCTED IN THE WEB SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER 2010 ASSEMBLEE GENERALE CONDUITE A TRAVERS L INTERNET SEPTEMBRE - OCTOBRE Dénomination - Society name La Société Africaine de Probabilités et (SAPS) est le nouveau nom de la Société. The Statistics and Probability African Society (SPAS) is the new name of the Society. Les acronymes du nom de la Société en Français et en Anglais sont en parfaite symétrie. There is a perfect symmetry in the two acronyms of the Society names in French and in English. 2 - Gouvernance - Governance La gouvernance de la société est celle décrite dans les pages à venir, jusqu à modification par une assemblée générale. The governance of the Society is the one described in the following pages, until modification by a General assembly.

2 3 - Equipe de coordination - Coordination Team. Après deux ans de fonctionnement provisoire, nous proposons l équipe décrite, basée sur cette expérience de deux ans. Les personnes proposées qui ne sont pas sûres de s engager peuvent se signaler et seront remplacées. Based on our two-year-old experience as a new society, the following coordination team, is proposed. The proposed personnes who feel that they will not committed to the work are asked to notify it and ask to be replaced. 4 - Publications. Afrika Statistika est un journal officiel de la societé. Il deviendra un journal sponsorisé par l IMS. La série Monographes SAPS sera lancée par le comité des publications. Afrika Statistika is an official journal of the Society. It will become an IMS co-sponsored journal. The series SPAS mongographs will be launched soon by the publications committee. 5 - Site Web - Website. Le site officiel de la socité est Il est totalement bilingue. The official website of the Society is It is fully bilingual. 5 - Scientific Meetings. La société organise chaque deux ans le Congrès Africain de probabilités et - CAPS ouvert à tous les chercheurs du

3 monde dans un pays africain. Le premier est prévu à Dakar en Mai La société peut aussi organiser des ateliers spécialisés ou régionaux avec la collaboration de partenaires. Each two years, the society organizes the African Congres of Probability and Statistics - ACPS in one African Country. Le siège de la société se trouve à l Université de Saint-Louis. Une correspondance doit être adressée à cet effet au Recteur de l Université. 4 Gouvernance de la Société. Society Governance. Coordination Général (CG) - General Coordination. La Coordination Générale est l équipe d animation de la Société jusqu au prochain congrès. Elle exécute les tâches courantes, prépare les réunions du Comité Exécutif (CE) et assure la permanence de la Société. C est le moteur de la Société. A cette étape de la Société, elle est composé du l initiateur de la Société et de deux adjoints aux rôles bien définis. The General Coordination is the running crew of the Society until the next Congress. It assures the permanent functionning of the Society, prepares its meetings of the Executive Committee and carry out the dicisions taken during those ones. Currently, the GC is formed by the main initiator of the Society and two deputies, both of them having a specific role. Les autres organes - The other organs. Comité Continental (CC) - Continental Comittee (CC) La Société est représentée dans chaque pays africain par un coordinateur national (CN), de même que dans la diaspora. Le CC est l assemblée des coordinateurs nationaux.

5 The society is represented in each country by a national coordinator (NC) as well as in the Diaspora. The CC is the assembly of these NC. Comité Exécutif - Executive Committee. Le Comité Exécutif est formé par deux représentants des coordinateurs pour chaque région africaine : Ouest, Sud, Est, Nord, Centre, Diaspora et par les présidents des comités. Il est présidé par le Coordinator General. The Executive Committee is formed by the representives of the five African Regions and the Diaspora, the presidents of the Society committees and by the General Coordinator. It is headed by the General Coordinator Comités de la Société - Society Committees. Publications Committee (PC) - Comité des publications (CP). Nominations Committee (NC) - Comité de Nomination (CN).
