Examples of good practice of education and training in safety and health were brought together by the partners according defined criteria from whole of Europe. Furthermore the project group developed a common standard for the qualification of instructors and trainers in safety and health. Today, almost 50 partners from 20 European countries plus South Korea and USA are involved in ENETOSH. The network is coordinated by the Institute for Work and Health (IAG) of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV). The idea that safety and health are an integral part of lifelong learning guides the work of ENETOSH, which is why it covers all areas of education, from kindergarten to school, initial vocational training, higher education through to continuing vocational training. ENETOSH addresses the following people: - Lecturers and trainers in the area of occupational safety and health in Europe - Educational staff in general and vocational education (staff in crèches, teachers, instructors, university lecturers, freelance trainers) - Multipliers and policymakers (representatives of associations, ministries, social partners, EU Commission). ENETOSH Internet-Platform The ENETOSH platform currently provides access to almost 500 examples of good 2

Examples are described in detail under GOOD PRACTICE. A WHO IS WHO section, currently containing more than 130 experts, enables users to contact other users personally all over Europe. The NEWS section contains the latest information from the fields of OSH and education. More information is available for example concerning certain topics (Hot topics), the topic Online learning (Education online) und other networks (Network connections). II. ENETOSH Standard of competence The ENETOSH Standard of Competence is intended to assure the quality of instructors and trainers of occupational safety and health in Europe. The standard covers the following fields of competence: - Training the trainer - Safety and health at work - Basics - OSH Management - Workplace Health Management. The ENETOSH Standard of Competence has been recognised by 14 institutions from 10 European countries and is available in 11 languages. It is a recommendation and can be used by educational institutions for recruitment purposes or CPD for teaching staff. After the projects term the ENETOSH standard has been scientifically validated. A validation study has been carried out by Dresden University of Technology from 2008 to III. Training & Innovation An annual international event on innovative topics and methods from all areas of training, held at the "Institute Work and Health" in Dresden. 11 Produit 'Standard of Competence for Instructors and Trainers in Safety and Health' Titre: Standard of Competence for Instructors and Trainers in Safety and Health Type de Produit: Autres Texte marketing: The ENETOSH Standard of Competence is intended to assure the quality of instructors and trainers of occupational safety and health in Europe. Description: The ENETOSH standard is based on the results of an empirical task analysis for general trainer competences of OSH lecturers and trainers, which was carried out by Dresden University in collaboration with the institutions for statutory accident insurance and prevention in Germany. The development at European level was conducted within the scope of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). The result is an integrated standard for improving the quality of instructors and trainers in safety and health, its special feature being that it includes both the skills needed to be a trainer and subjectrelated expertise. The standard has been recognised by 14 institutions from 10 European countries and by one European social partner. The standard has been translated into 11 languages. In April 2008, work began on evolving the ENETOSH standard further. All of the parts of the standard had been reviewed to ascertain whether they really reflect the requirements in their area of application. This process was conducted using the critical incident technique included in the taskanalysistools (TAToo ), which had already proved successful in the study on general trainer competences. The ENETOSH standard of competence is the first research based joint requirements profile for instructors and trainers in Europe in the area of health and safety. The validation of the standard has been finalized in May 2010 and can be downloaded from the ENETOSH website at Cible: Instructors and trainers Résultat: The standard covers four fields of competence: 1. Train the trainer 2. Safety and health at work - the basics 3. OSH Management 4. Workplace Health Management The ENETOSH standard of competence describes a maximum that can be expected regarding the knowledge, skills, and the wider competencies of an instructor or trainer in safety and health. There is a checklist for each field of competence. A matrix indicates how the fields of competence in the ENETOSH standard relate to the performance levels of the EQF. Domaine d'application: The ENETOSH Standard of competence provides a common, scientifically proven basis for quality-assuring lecturers and trainers in OSH in Europe. The ENETOSH Standard makes it possible to select suitable staff for the required teaching tasks, to develop training content that is similar throughout Europe and to set up a system of certifying the people involved, if it makes sense to do so for lecturers and trainers. The standard has been implemented by ISFoP (Istituto Superiore di Formazione alla Prevenzione) in Italy. In Germany IAG has developed a training package consisting of the validated ENETOSH Standard of competence, that forms the basis for the qualification of instructors and trainers in OHS, a research-based instrument, the so called Trainer Profile Analysis (TPA), and an individual support measure: the Coaching of teachers and trainers in OSH. 14 Événements Training & Innovation 2010 Date Description Cible Public Informations de contact Date et lieu Rethinking transfer: the sustainability of training in occupational health and safety Transferring the fire of our event into practice was the motto of the 10th Training & Innovation event, which took place from May 2010 at the DGUV Akademie in Dresden and was attended by a total of 65 participants from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Denmark and Canada. Representatives of accident insurance providers came together with participants from companies, universities, ministries and other public institutions as well as private providers of training, research and consultancy to have a frank and highlevel exchange of ideas on how to make sure that seminars and training sessions have a more sustainable impact in practice. "Training and Innovation" is aimed at anyone concerned with safety and health in education and training: staff in day nurseries, teachers, lecturers and political decision makers seeking to promote the mainstreaming of safety and health into educational programmes and institutions. Événement non public Ulrike Bollmann: ulrike.bollmann@dguv.de May 2010, DGUV Academy, Dresden Stakeholder Meeting on occupational safety and health Date Description On 24 February 2010 the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) hold a stakeholder meeting on mainstreaming occupational safety and health (OSH) into education at MULTIBURO in Brussels. The meeting was attended by over fifty participants from 16 different countries including member state representatives, European Commission representatives from DG Employment and DG Education, social partners from the European Commission s advisory group on safety and health (working group on education and training), and European social partners in the education sector (who are representatives on the newly formed sector social dialogue committee for the education sector), the European Training Foundation and ENSHPO. 15 Événements OSH and education Approaches to a successful cooperation Date Description There still exists a gap between the area of OSH and the area of education. That can be seen, for example, in the fact that the one side is not sufficiently aware of the other side s activities. The workshop will explore the reasons why the areas of OSH and education policy have so far not been intertwined to an adequate extent. Within an open Forum approaches for a successful cooperation between OSH and education will be presented from Denmark, Ireland, Austria, Turkey and Germany. Finally responsible actors will discuss about effective instruments to stimulate the cooperation between OSH experts and education experts.
