Augmented Reality is a type of virtual reality that aims at duplicating the world s environment in a computer. It is a live view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data. The system generates a composite view for the user, that is the combination of the real scene and a virtual scene containing additional information. HOW does IT WORK? In order to use the BDO augmented reality application, your computer must be equipped with a built-in or external webcam. It must be used in a naturally bright and/or well-lit room. Then, place the sensor in front of your webcam and... see what happens! For best results, your sensor must not be folded or damaged, and must not reflect the light too directly. 3 ANNUAL STATEMENT editorial In 1896 realiseerde de Fransman Pierre de Coubertin een fantastische droom : hij stond toen in Athene aan de wieg van de eerste versie van de moderne Olympische Spelen. En hij drukte bij die gelegenheid de expliciete wens uit dat de ontmoeting tussen verschillende culturen de verstandhouding in de wereld zou verbeteren wordt een nieuw olympisch jaar. De verhoudingen tussen de verschillende volkeren is er in de wereld sedert 1896 niet eenvoudiger op geworden, en Athene zit in de periferie van een Europese storm, waar de wind harder waait dan in het centrum ervan. En tóch is het leidmotief van Pierre de Coubertin correct : het is fantastisch mensen te ontmoeten, er een lange termijn relatie mee op te bouwen, naar hen te luisteren en hun problemen te helpen aanpakken door pro-actief in te spelen op hun zorgen. En 1896, le Français Pierre de Coubertin a réalisé un rêve formidable : il se trouvait alors à Athènes, berceau de la première mouture des Jeux Olympiques modernes, et a exprimé à cette occasion le souhait explicite que la rencontre entre différentes cultures améliore l entente dans le monde est une nouvelle année olympique. Les relations entre les différents peuples ne sont pas devenues plus faciles dans le monde depuis 1896, et Athènes est située à la périphérie d une tempête européenne, où le vent souffle plus fort qu en son centre. Et pourtant, le leitmotiv de Pierre de Coubertin s avère exact : il est formidable de rencontrer des gens, d établir une relation à long terme avec eux, d être à leur écoute et de les aider à gérer leurs problèmes grâce à une réponse proactive à leurs préoccupations. BDO, the relationship people! In 1896, the Frenchman Pierre de Coubertin realised a fantastic dream: to father the modern Olympic Games, the first version of which was held in Athens in that year. On that occasion, he expressed the explicit hope that such meetings between different cultures might improve relations in the world is a new Olympic year. Since 1896, the relations between the various peoples of the world have not become any easier, and Athens is on the periphery of a European storm, where the winds are gusting harder than in the centre of the storm itself. But Pierre de Coubertin s reasoning is correct: it is fantastic to meet people, to build up a long-term relationship with them, to listen to them and to help them deal with their problems by proactively anticipating their concerns. 4 4 ANNUAL STATEMENT 2011 bdo, THE RELATIONSHIP PEOPLE De economische omstandigheden voor de komende maanden en jaren zijn onzeker. Wat tot een paar jaar geleden evident was, is dit vandaag niet meer. Maar BDO is ervan overtuigd dat de consequente invulling van een weloverwogen strategie op lange termijn tot succes leidt. BDO wil niet enkel een professioneel kantoor van auditors, accountants, belastingconsulenten en adviseurs zijn het wil ook permanent zijn reputatie van echte relationship people waarmaken. Het wil een duurzame en loyale band opbouwen tussen Partners, medewerkers en cliënten, met oog voor evenwicht tussen de belangen van hen allemaal. Want hoe kan een dienstverlener beter een strategie rond duurzaamheid opbouwen dan op basis van relaties? Het is belangrijk dat Partners en medewerkers hun eigen vaardigheden kunnen ontplooien in een jonge en moderne werkomgeving, en dat ze zich geapprecieerd voelen voor wat ze doen. Dit is de reden waarom steeds meer getalenteerde medewerkers kiezen voor BDO. Het voorbije jaar hebben wij opnieuw collectief heel hard getraind om in 2012 de gegeerde olympische vorm te bestendigen, en zelfs nog beter te presteren dan in Wij zijn bereid hierin heel erg diep te gaan, want de traditionele olympische gedachte dat deelnemen belangrijker is dan winnen leidt bij BDO niet altijd tot voldoening. Niet alle spelers in de markt kunnen aantonen dat hun kwaliteit een olympisch niveau bereikt, en zeker niet iedereen heeft de gave om vanuit een luisterend perspectief pragmatische oplossingen aan te reiken tegen een fair price. Niet iedereen speelt binnen de wettelijke context flexibel en pro-actief in op de behoeften van cliënten. BDO durft beweren dit wel te kunnen. Wij gaan dus verder dan alleen maar deelnemen - wij streven naar het podium van de kwaliteit! Dit is de reden waarom steeds meer cliënten kiezen voor BDO. Mais BDO est convaincu que la mise en œuvre cohérente d une stratégie mûrement réfléchie sera couronnée de succès à long terme. BDO veut non seulement être un cabinet professionnel de réviseurs, d experts-comptables, de conseillers fiscaux et de consultants, mais souhaite aussi être en permanence à la hauteur de sa réputation de véritable «relationship people». BDO souhaite développer une relation durable et loyale entre Partners, collaborateurs et clients, en veillant à l équilibre des intérêts de chacun d eux. En effet, comment un prestataire de services peut-il mieux développer une stratégie en matière de durabilité que sur la base de «relations»? Il est important que les Partners et collaborateurs puissent développer leurs propres aptitudes dans un environnement de travail jeune et moderne et qu ils se sentent appréciés pour ce qu ils font. C est la raison pour laquelle de plus en plus de collaborateurs talentueux optent pour BDO. L année dernière, nous avons repris nos entraînements collectifs intensifs pour conserver, en 2012, la forme olympique tant convoitée, et même réaliser des prestations encore meilleures qu en Nous sommes disposés à aller très loin ; en effet, l adage selon lequel «participer est plus important que gagner» ne génère pas de sentiment de satisfaction chez BDO. Tous les acteurs présents sur le marché ne peuvent prouver que leur qualité atteint un niveau olympique. Par ailleurs, il n est pas donné à tout le monde de proposer des solutions pragmatiques à un prix honnête, tout en étant à l écoute du client et en adoptant dans le respect des règles - une approche flexible et proactive pour répondre à leurs besoins. BDO ose prétendre en être capable. Nous ne nous contentons donc pas de «participer», nous visons le podium de la qualité! C est la raison pour laquelle de plus en plus de clients optent pour BDO.

Aspects that were taken for granted until just a couple of years ago no longer are. However, BDO is convinced that the consistent implementation of a well-considered strategy leads to success in the long run. BDO not only wants to be a professional firm of auditors, accountants, tax consultants and advisers, it also aims to make its name as true relationship people a reality every day. It strives to build up durable and loyal ties between Partners, staff and clients, achieving a balance between the interests of all concerned. After all, what better way for a service provider to build a strategy around sustainability than on the basis of relationships? It is important that Partners and staff can develop their own skills in a young and modern work environment, and that they feel appreciated for what they do. This is the reason why ever more talented staff members are choosing BDO. Last year we all trained intensively once again to keep the much soughtafter Olympic form going in 2012, and to perform even better than in We are prepared to take this to the next level, as the traditional Olympic ideal that taking part is more important than winning does not always lead to satisfaction for BDO. Not all players in the market can demonstrate that their quality has reached an Olympic level, and certainly not everyone has the talent to offer pragmatic solutions at a fair price while offering a listening ear. Not everyone responds flexibly and proactively to the needs of clients within the legal context. BDO ventures to claim that it can do just this. 6 6 ANNUAL STATEMENT 2011 Felix Fank HEAD OF A&A De rol van de auditor wordt in woelige economische omstandigheden alleen maar relevanter. De strengere regelgeving en de steeds complexer wordende wetgevingen die het gevolg zijn van wat er de voorbije jaren is gebeurd, maken de taak van de controleur van financiële staten steeds ingewikkelder. Het evenwicht tussen de correcte interpretatie van de regels en de vertrouwensband die er tussen cliënt en auditor moet bestaan, wordt hierdoor ook minder eenvoudig. Door de strategische keuze van BDO om precies van kwaliteit en relatiemanagement de twee grote speerpunten van ontwikkeling te maken, zijn onze Partners en medewerkers bij uitstek uitgerust om de uitdagingen van de toekomst aan te gaan. En deze uitdagingen zijn niet licht. Wie de voorlopige plannen van Europa ten aanzien van het beroep van auditor leest, weet dat de wereld zal veranderen. Het positieve van deze ontwikkelingen is dat dit voor middelgrote kantoren als BDO gigantische opportuniteiten creëert. Minder gunstig op de evolutie op lange termijn is de impact op het enthousiasme van jongeren om het beroep nog uit te oefenen. Maar BDO gelooft meer dan ooit in zijn eigen kracht, en investeert daarom permanent in de gestage groei van de business line Audit & Assurance. Blijk hiervan is het partnership dat we in Audit per 1 oktober 2011 hebben afgesloten met het kantoor van Peter Vandewalle CKP in West-Vlaanderen, evenals de permanente inspanning om kennis te verdiepen in IFRS (voor internationale opdrachten), (gerechtelijke) expertises en wettelijke opdrachten, waarin wij een doorgedreven specialisatie hebben uitgebouwd. Binnen Risk & Assurance worden wij steeds meer gerespecteerd om onze kwaliteiten rond interne audit (o.m. bij pensioenfondsen) en met betrekking tot de beoordeling van de kwaliteit van processen heel vaak in een ingewikkelde geïnformatiseerde omgeving. Wij zijn ervan overtuigd dat er aan een dergelijke dienstverlening, en aan assurance in een ruime zin, de komende jaren steeds meer behoefte zal zijn.

7 ANNUAL STATEMENT Audit & Assurance Dans un contexte économique agité, le rôle du réviseur est tout à fait justifié. La réglementation plus stricte et les législations de plus en plus complexes suite aux événements des années précédentes rendent la tâche du contrôleur des états financiers toujours plus ardue. L équilibre entre l interprétation correcte des règles et la relation de confiance à établir entre le client et le réviseur est de ce fait plus fragile. C est en raison du choix stratégique de BDO de placer la qualité et la gestion des relations comme deux principaux fers de lance du développement que nos Partners et collaborateurs sont parés pour relever les défis de l avenir. Et ces défis sont de taille. Ceux qui connaissent les plans provisoires de l Europe à l égard de la profession de réviseur savent que le monde va changer. Le point positif de cette évolution est qu elle génère des opportunités extraordinaires pour les entreprises de taille moyenne comme BDO. Une conséquence défavorable sur l évolution à long terme est l impact sur la motivation des jeunes à exercer la profession. Mais BDO a plus que jamais foi en ses capacités et investit dès lors continuellement dans la croissance soutenue de la business line Audit & Assurance. Le partenariat que nous avons conclu au sein du département Audit en date du 1er octobre 2011 avec le cabinet de Peter Vandewalle CKP en Flandre occidentale, ainsi que les efforts permanents fournis pour élargir nos connaissances des normes IFRS (pour les missions internationales), des expertises (judiciaires) et des missions légales, domaines dans lesquels nous nous sommes spécialisés de manière approfondie, en sont la preuve. Au sein de Risk & Assurance, nous sommes de plus en plus reconnus pour nos qualités en matière d audit interne (entre autres au niveau des fonds de pension) et en ce qui concerne l évaluation de la qualité des processus, très souvent au sein d un environnement informatisé complexe. Nous sommes convaincus que les besoins pour de telles prestations de services et l «assurance» au sens large augmenteront au cours des prochaines années. The role of the auditor becomes all the more relevant in turbulent economic times. Stricter regulations and increasingly complex legislation, resulting from the events of the last few years, are making the role of an auditor of financial statements ever more complex. The balance between the correct interpretation of the rules and the relationship of mutual trust that has to exist between the client and the auditor, is not simplified in any way by this. As a result of the strategic choice of BDO to make the very factors of quality and relationship management the two main spearheads of development, our Partners and staff are perfectly equipped to meet the challenges of the future. And these challenges are not to be taken lightly. If you read the provisional plans of Europe regarding the auditing profession, you will know that the world is about to change. The positive aspect of these developments is that they create immense opportunities for medium-sized firms such as BDO. Less favourable for the long-term evolution is the impact on the enthusiasm of young people to enter the profession. More than ever before, BDO believes in its own strengths, and is therefore continuously investing in the steady growth of the business line Audit & Assurance. The partnership that was concluded on 1 October 2011 within Audit with Peter Vandewalle s firm CKP in West Flanders, as well as the ongoing efforts to deepen our knowledge of IFRS (for international assignments), (judicial) expertise and legal assignments, in which we have developed an intensive specialisation. In Risk & Assurance, we are increasingly respected for our qualities in internal audits (e.g. for pension funds) and our qualities related to the assessment of the quality of processes - very often in a complicated computerised environment. We are convinced that in the next few years there will be an increasing need for such services and assurance in the widest sense.

8 8 ANNUAL STATEMENT 2011 Accounting & Reporting De business line Accounting & Reporting heeft bij de cliënt permanent aandacht voor de kwaliteit van de rapportering, die zo veel als mogelijk op maat moet zijn. Onze slogan tailor-made approach is de perfecte weerspiegeling van onze ambitie om echte ondernemersadviseurs te zijn. Meer dan vroeger moet een ondernemer geregeld tussentijden opnemen om te weten of hij op schema zit. Budgetteren, beoordelen, alert reageren, bijsturen,... het zijn domeinen waarin wij de ondernemer voortdurend willen challengen. De tools die onze accountants in de Public Sector voor hun specifieke doelgroep hebben ontwikkeld, zijn hierbij van grote hulp. En nieuwe producten in de vorm van speciale rapporteringen hebben intussen hun proeve van kwaliteit doorstaan ook in een internationale context, dankzij ons netwerk in 135 landen. BDO legt een toenemende focus op automatisering van de werkzaamheden en e-invoicing), zodat er tijd vrij komt om naar de cliënt te luisteren. Wij dwingen ondernemers om samen met ons op een hoger niveau en met een breder perspectief naar hun bedrijf te kijken : de financieringsstructuur, schommelingen in liquiditeit, rendabiliteit van activiteiten, mogelijke gevaren voor de continuïteit, structuur van het aandeelhouderschap, familiale opvolging... het zijn enkele voorbeelden van onderwerpen die in de diepte worden bestudeerd tot grote tevredenheid van de cliënt! In het bijzonder in de publieke sector zijn de uitdagingen zeer groot, want er moet op alle bestuurlijke niveaus worden bespaard, en middelen moeten efficiënt worden ingezet. BDO heeft ondertussen als marktleider op het domein van de locale besturen een behoorlijk track record opgebouwd. Tot slot melden wij met trots twee nieuwe partnerships te hebben kunnen sluiten : in Gent met het kantoor van Patrick Stals Cougar Consulting (per 1 september 2011) en (met ingang van 1 januari 2012) in Hasselt met Accountancykantoor Vermesen. BDO investeert verder in lokale groei met de tomeloze ambitie om de accountancy partner bij uitstek van de familiale ondernemer te zijn. Bien plus qu auparavant, un chef d entreprise doit s interrompre pour contrôler si le planning est respecté. Budgétisation, évaluation, réaction immédiate, ajustement... autant de domaines dans lesquels nous souhaitons mettre en permanence le chef d entreprise au défi. Les outils mis au point par nos experts-comptables au sein de Public Sector pour leur groupe cible spécifique sont très utiles dans ce cadre. De nouveaux produits sous la forme de rapports spéciaux ont entre-temps prouvé leur qualité, dans un contexte international également, grâce à notre réseau établi dans 135 pays. BDO accorde un intérêt croissant à l automatisation des activités (e-@ccounting et e-invoicing) afin de se consacrer davantage à l écoute du client. Nous incitons les chefs d entreprise à considérer, avec notre aide, leur société à un niveau supérieur et dans une perspective plus large : la structure de financement, les fluctuations de liquidité, la rentabilité des activités, les risques éventuels pour la continuité, la structure de l actionnariat, le suivi familial... sont quelques exemples de thèmes analysés en profondeur, à la grande satisfaction du client. Les défis sont considérables, en particulier au sein du secteur public, car des économies doivent être réalisées à tous les niveaux de gestion et des moyens doivent être efficacement mis en œuvre. Entre-temps, BDO a fait ses preuves en tant que leader du marché dans le domaine des administrations locales. Enfin, nous sommes fiers d annoncer la conclusion de deux nouveaux partenariats au sein d Accounting & Reporting : à Gand avec le cabinet de Patrick Stals «Cougar Consulting» (le 1er septembre 2011) et à Hasselt avec «Accountancykantoor Vermesen» (à partir du 1er janvier 2012). 9 ANNUAL STATEMENT Dirk Osaer HEAD OF A&R The business line Accounting & Reporting pays permanent attention to the quality of the reporting for the client, which must be as tailor-made as possible. Our slogan tailor-made approach is the perfect reflection of our ambition to be true enterpreneurial advisers. More than ever, an entrepreneur must plan regular interim intervals to determine whether he or she is on schedule. Budgeting, evaluating, responding alertly, adjusting,... These are the fields in which we aim to continually challenge entrepreneurs. The tools that our accountants in the Public Sector have developed for their specific target group are a great help in this. In the meantime, new products shaped as special reports have passed the test of quality with flying colours - internationally too, thanks to our network in 135 countries. BDO emphasizes on the automation of activities (e-@ccounting and e-invoicing) so that time is freed up to listen to the client. We urge companies to look together at their business from a higher level and a broader perspective: the financial structure, fluctuations in liquidity, profitability of activities, possible dangers to continuity, structure of the share ownership, family succession, and so on. These are just a few examples of subjects that are studied in depth - to the great satisfaction of the client! In particular the challenges in the public sector are vast, as savings must be made at all administrative levels, and resources must be deployed efficiently. In the meantime, BDO has built up a substantial track record as a market leader in the local authorities sector. Finally, we can proudly report that we have entered into two new partnerships: one in Ghent with Patrick Stals accounting firm Cougar Consulting (as of 1 September 2011) and one in Hasselt with Accountancykantoor Vermesen (as of 1 January 2012). Furthermore, BDO invests in local growth with the unbridled ambition of becoming the pre-eminent partner for the family entrepreneur.

Als bedrijf is het dan zaak om de risico s te kennen en ze vervolgens goed af te bakenen. En er vervolgens bij voorkeur opportuniteiten van te maken. Het is dan ook begrijpelijk dat onze juridische dienstverlening aan belang wint. Wij focussen op vennootschapsrecht, transacties (handelsrecht), sociaal- en arbeidsrecht, en familiaal vermogensrecht, want deze werkdomeinen sluiten naadloos aan bij onze andere activiteiten. De cliënt apprecieert een oplossing die tot het einde gaat, zonder dat hij zich zorgen moet maken over de kwaliteit. Met diensten als Corporate Housekeeping en Executive Housekeeping kunnen wij verder ook zorgen voor gemoedsrust op een hoog niveau. Flexibiliteit en pragmatisme blijven in onze tak van sport een uiterst belangrijke troef. De generalistische hands-on aanpak wordt door onze cliënten heel erg geapprecieerd, zeker wanneer men hen op het juiste ogenblik kan bijstaan met specialisten die binnen hun niches werken op het hoogste kwaliteitsniveau. 12 12 ANNUAL STATEMENT 2011 Michel Grignard HEAD OF SAS Sedert vorig jaar biedt BDO de zogenaamde Special Advisory Services aan, met name Interim Management en Corporate Finance. Een ondernemer zoekt al een tijd naar een oplossing voor de invulling van een functie op hoog niveau, en die is dringend. Of één van zijn bedrijven is in een crisissituatie terecht gekomen en er moet snel een herstructurering worden aangevat. Dit zijn typische situaties waarin men een Interim Manager kan inzetten. Hij of zij kan onmiddellijk aan de slag, deeltijds of voltijds. De Interim Manager komt, lost de problemen op, en kan met een gerust gemoed weer vertrekken. Wie van oordeel is dat dit een dure oplossing is, vergist zich. Het niet hebben van iemand die met kennis van zaken en met focus aan een probleem werkt, kost altijd meer. En wie toch een permanente oplossing zou vinden (wat meestel heel lang duurt), moet die ook betalen - en zelfs nog meer dan voor de effectief geleverde prestaties. Een ondernemer wil zijn zaak overdragen en genieten van een verdiend pensioen. BDO heeft zich gespecialiseerd in de begeleiding van een proces dat tot overdracht leidt binnen de familie of erbuiten. Dit proces wordt vaak onderschat. Verkopen op zich is niet zo moeilijk de voorbereiding ervan wel. Is het niet mogelijk eerst nog extra aandeelhouderswaarde te creëren? Is er een gedegen verkoopmemorandum, met een stevig business plan aan de basis? Anderzijds kan de realisatie van een strategisch plan soms beter invulling krijgen via een gerichte acquisitie met een professioneel boekenonderzoek van mogelijke targets en met evenwichtige waarderingen. Ondernemers hebben gekwalificeerd advies nodig van een partij die gewend is rekening te houden met de gevoeligheden van zo een proces. BDO is niet uit op korte termijn gewin. De voorbereiding en de nazorg zijn minstens even belangrijk als de transactie zelf. Deze filosofie past perfect bij onze bedoeling om een lange termijn relatie met de cliënt op te bouwen. 13 ANNUAL STATEMENT Special Advisory Services Depuis l année dernière, BDO propose des «Special Advisory Services», qui regroupent les services Interim Management et Corporate Finance. Un chef d entreprise cherche à pourvoir un poste élevé depuis un certain temps et cela devient urgent, ou l une de ses entreprises connaît une situation de crise et une restructuration s impose dans les plus brefs délais. Voici des situations typiques où les services d un Interim Manager apportent une grande valeur ajoutée. Il ou elle peut entrer très rapidement dans son rôle, à temps partiel ou à plein temps. L Interim Manager vient, résout le problème, et s en va. Cette solution est loin d être onéreuse. Ne pas avoir quelqu un à disposition pour se concentrer sur un problème spécifique et le résoudre avec des connaissances adéquates sera toujours plus coûteux. Quant à une solution «permanente» (généralement très difficile à trouver), il faut également payer, et même davantage que pour les prestations réellement fournies. Un chef d entreprise souhaite céder son affaire et profiter d une retraite bien méritée. BDO s est spécialisé dans l accompagnement du processus de transfert au sein de la famille ou en dehors de celle-ci. Ce processus est souvent sous-estimé. En soi, vendre n est pas si difficile, mais bien s y préparer l est. Ne doit-on pas commencer par créer de la valeur actionnariale supplémentaire? Dispose-t-on d un mémorandum de vente solide, basé sur un business plan efficace? D autre part, une acquisition ciblée peut se révéler être la réponse adaptée à la réalisation d un plan stratégique. Dans ce cadre, une analyse des cibles potentielles et une évaluation spécialisée sont aussi nécessaires. Les chefs d entreprise ont besoin des conseils qualifiés d une personne qui a l habitude de tenir compte des sensibilités propres à ce type de processus. BDO n est pas à court de ressources. La préparation et le suivi sont au moins aussi importants que la transaction proprement dite. Cette philosophie s inscrit parfaitement dans notre objectif visant à développer une relation à long terme avec le client. BDO, the relationship people! Since last year, BDO has been offering so-called Special Advisory Services, consisting of Interim Management and Corporate Finance services. Consider an entrepreneur who for some time now has been searching for a solution to fill a senior position, and the situation has become very urgent. Or perhaps one of his companies has entered a crisis situation and restructuring must commence without delay. These are typical situations in which an Interim Manager can be used. He or she can immediately be set to work, part-time or full-time. The Interim Manager arrives, solves the problems at hand, and can depart with an easy mind. If you think this is an expensive solution, you could not be further from the truth. Not having someone who can work on a problem with knowledge of the facts and with the necessary focus, always costs more. And if indeed you do find a permanent solution (which generally takes a very long time), you will of course have to pay for it - even more than for the actual services provided. An entrepreneur wants to transfer his or her business and enjoy a wellearned retirement. BDO has specialised in guiding the process leading to the transfer - whether inside or outside the family. This process is often underestimated. In theory, the sale itself is not so difficult - however, the preparation is. Is it not possible to first create additional shareholder value? Is there a comprehensive sale prospectus, based on a sound business plan? On the other hand, a strategic plan can sometimes be better realised through a targeted acquisition with a professional audit of possible targets along with balanced valuations. Entrepreneurs need competent advice from someone who is used to taking account of the sensitivities of such a process. BDO is not out for shortterm gains. The preparation and after-care are at least as important as the transaction itself. This philosophy fits in perfectly with our intent to build up a long-term relationship with the client. Zij zorgen samen met de secretariaten voor de ideale werkomstandigheden voor diegenen die instaan voor de cliëntenrelatie. Men staat er soms te weinig bij stil, maar de faciliteiten die er in een Olympisch dorp voor de atleten worden voorzien, vallen niet zomaar uit de lucht. BDO heeft dit jaar opnieuw geïnvesteerd in een jonge en moderne infrastructuur. De kantoren werden stelselmatig uitgerust met voice over IP, de Partners en Managers beschikken over een ipad 2 om vlotter en efficiënter te communiceren, en de verruimde ploeg in Roeselare is ingetrokken in een nieuw ecologisch gebouw met meer visibiliteit. De equipe van 460 Partners en medewerkers heeft het voorbije jaar weer een puike prestatie neergezet. De omzetgroei van BDO België bedroeg 3,24 % (boekjaar oktober 2010 tot en met september 2011). Dit is zeer bevredigend, aangezien het BDO niet te doen is om de groei voor de groei. De grootste sprong vinden wij terug bij Tax & Legal en in Special Advisory Services. Internationaal situeert de groei zich rond 4 %. In het Verre Oosten is de groei het grootst. BDO heeft de trein van de internationale ontwikkeling niet gemist, met kantoren in 135 landen. Hierdoor slaagt BDO erin om zowel internationaal als lokaal georiënteerd cliënteel te bedienen. Om na te gaan of wij alvast in België onze ambitie kunnen waarmaken, hebben wij recent een tevredenheidenquête bij zowel de cliënten als de medewerkers laten uitvoeren. De algemene conclusies zijn positief, maar er is nog veel werk aan de detailanalyses. BDO blijft met beide voeten op de grond. Het is gevaarlijk conclusies te trekken uit gemiddelden, zelfs al zijn die gunstig. Nog beter doen is onze ambitie...

15 ANNUAL STATEMENT SUPPORTED by CENTRAL SERVICES Les quatre business lines de BDO Belgique bénéficient du soutien d une équipe de collaborateurs actifs au sein des départements ICT, HRM, Procurement, Communication et Finance. En collaboration avec les secrétariats, ils assurent des conditions de travail optimales pour les collaborateurs responsables des relations avec la clientèle. Peu d attention y est portée mais les installations prévues pour les athlètes dans un village olympique ne sont pas arrivées là par enchantement. Cette année encore, BDO a investi dans une infrastructure jeune et moderne. Les bureaux ont été systématiquement équipés du système de téléphonie Voice over IP, les Partners et Managers disposent d un ipad 2 pour communiquer avec aisance et efficacité, et l équipe élargie à Roulers a installé ses quartiers dans un nouveau bâtiment écologique caractérisé par une visibilité accrue. L an dernier, l équipe composée de 460 Partners et collaborateurs a une nouvelle fois réalisé d excellentes prestations. Le taux de croissance du chiffre d affaires de BDO Belgique a atteint 3,24 % (exercice d octobre 2010 à septembre 2011 inclus). Ce résultat est très satisfaisant compte tenu du fait que BDO ne vise pas la croissance en tant que telle. Les business lines Tax & Legal et Special Advisory Services enregistrent la meilleure progression. À l échelon international, la croissance se situe aux alentours des 4 %. C est en Extrême-Orient que la croissance est la plus importante. BDO n a pas raté le train du développement international et a implanté des bureaux dans 135 pays. Elle est ainsi en mesure de servir une clientèle ciblée, tant sur le plan international que local. Pour contrôler la faisabilité de nos ambitions en Belgique, nous avons récemment réalisé une enquête de satisfaction auprès de nos clients mais également des collaborateurs. Les conclusions générales sont positives mais il reste encore du pain sur la planche pour les analyses détaillées. BDO garde les deux pieds sur terre. Il est dangereux de tirer des conclusions à partir de moyennes, même si celles-ci sont favorables. Nous avons l ambition de faire encore mieux... The four business lines of BDO Belgium are supported by a team of ICT, HRM, Procurement, Communications and Financial staff. Together with the secretarial services, they provide the ideal working conditions for those who are responsible for the client relationships. Sometimes too little attention is paid to this aspect, but the many facilities provided to the athletes in an Olympic village do not just create themselves. This year BDO has once again invested in a young and modern infrastructure. The offices are systematically equipped with Voice over IP, the Partners and Managers all have an ipad 2 to communicate more easily and efficiently, and the expanded team in Roeselare has moved into a new environmentally-friendly building with more visibility. The team of 460 Partners and staff has once again delivered an outstanding performance last year. The turnover growth for BDO Belgium amounted to 3.24% (financial year from October 2010 until September 2011). A very satisfactory result, as BDO is not after growth for growth s sake. The greatest leap forward was in Tax & Legal and Special Advisory Services. Internationally, growth is around 4%. The growth is the highest in the Far East. BDO certainly hasn t missed out on international development, with offices in 135 countries. As a result, BDO is able to serve local as well as international clients. To check whether we can realise our ambition in Belgium, we recently had a satisfaction survey carried out among clients and staff alike. The general conclusions are positive, but there is still substantial work on the detailed analyses. BDO firmly keeps both feet on the ground. It is not safe to draw conclusions from averages, even if they are favourable. Our ambition is to do even better...
