Here is an exciting, affordable and complete package for French grades 3 to 9 and late immersion grades 4 to 6. It is specifically designed to integrate sciences and technology into your French class. The package includes a class set of readers containing stories such as the one shown on the left, 54 pages of different reproducible activities all packaged in a practical binder, and one audio-cassette dramatization of each of the stories. The stories, activities and audio-cassette all center on the theme of computers and technology. What could be more relevant for today s students of all ages? The activities were developed around recent pedagogical approaches, reflect multiple intelligences, cooperative learning theories, and integrate science and technology, the arts, and social studies. All four skills are practised and evaluated in each module. The cartoon stories and corresponding activities are organized in a modular fashion. As a result, this resource can be used either linearly from beginning to end or as individual modules, to bridge gaps, ease transitions, update older French methods, or as a module on computers and for split-level classes. Occasional teachers like it too! It s the perfect companion to any French or late immersion method in need of that something extra to integrate sciences, and fits with all French programs. In this age of accountability, the teacher s job is simplified as pedagogical expectations are indicated for each activity. This package was developed for teachers, by teachers. The following sample pages from the resource are attached for preview: Page 1 from the reader: Here is one of the eight stories taken from the booklet along with some of the matching activities from the activity binder (a comprehension activity, a short quiz and a couple of follow-up activities). The teacher activity binder contains 80 pages of reproducible activities targeting the different stories. Page 23 from the activities (comprehension l autobus): Each story in the student s book has corresponding activities in the reproducible binder. For each of the stories there are simple comprehension activities and follow-up, open-ended, creative activities. Pages 52 and56 from the activities Please see number 30 for l Autobus.
