7 ADAMANTIUM LE SQUELETTE: LES WORK PACKAGES (2) Work package number WP2 Start date or starting event: M1 Work package title System Architecture Definition and Specification Activity type RTD Participant number Participant short name DEM EHU UOP RS TGV VOD ERC VIO Person-months per participant Objectives The objectives to be achieved within WP2 consist on defining and specifying the overall system and subsystems architecture and the definition of the external interfaces of the various integrating modules. This comprises providing the architecture and specifications of the MCMS, including the definition and description of the modules and subsystems inside it. Description of work This work package includes the following tasks: Task 2.1 Overall System Architecture. Definition and specification of the overall system architecture, including the IMS-based MCMS system, the enhanced multimedia services, the core transport network, the UMTS access network, the Media Server and Resource Function (MSRF), and the terminal-side Terminal Adaptation Module. The various modules and their external interfaces will be identified and their functionalities will be described, in order to be used by other WPs/Tasks for detailed specification and implementation. Definition and specification of the Demonstrator configuration and the detailed block diagram for the use cases that will be employed to show the technical features and advantages of ADAMANTIUM system. The main efforts of this task will be performed by partners ERC, VOD, DEM and VIO. 7
