Ce répertoire constitue un outil essentiel afin de nous permettre, collectivement, de favoriser des achats locaux et divers investissements dans notre communauté. Ce répertoire représente également un outil de réseautage qui vous permettra d identifier les gens de notre région qui sont en mesure de satisfaire à vos besoins et à vos exigences. 11 UNE HISTOIRE DE PLUS DE 120 ANS Notre histoire La Chambre de commerce et de l industrie du Haut-Richelieu a été incorporée le 26 novembre 1894 et compte parmi les plus anciennes chambres de commerce établies sur le territoire du Québec. Cependant, tous ne s entendent pas sur la date officielle de fondation. Des recherches menées dans les archives de la Chambre de commerce et dans les archives personnelles de Monsieur L.O. Régnier (président de ) indiquent au moins deux autres dates de fondation antérieures à 1894, soit 1874 et Par ailleurs, un article du journal Le Canada Français de 1950 relate un souper donné en l honneur des anciens présidents de la Chambre de commerce depuis sa fondation «en 1887». Ces documents ainsi que les archives officielles encore existantes (à partir de 1911) font croire que la Chambre a pu être fondée en 1874 pour mourir et renaître à quelques reprises jusqu en 1919, année qui semble marquer le véritable départ de la Chambre que nous connaissons aujourd hui. A HISTORY WHICH EXTENDS OVER 120 YEARS Our history The Chambre de commerce du Haut-Richelieu was incorporated on November 26, 1894 and is among the oldest Chambers of Commerce established in Quebec. However, everyone doesn t agree as to the official date of its founding. Research carried out in the archives of the Chamber of commerce and the personal archives of Mr. L. O. Régnier (Président in ) indicate at least two founding dates earlier than 1894, namely 1874 and On the other hand, an article in the newspaper Le Canada Français in 1950 reported on a dinner given in honour of past Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce since its founding «in 1887», these documents as well as the official archives still existing (from 1911) lead one to believe that the Chamber could have been founded in 1874 to die and be reborn on several occasions until the year 1919, a year which seems to mark the real start of the Chamber as we know it today. 26 ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT IN REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT A positive balance sheet IN , THE CCIHR IN PARTICULAR : Contributed to the dynamization of Vieux-Saint-Jean through its involvement in the Vieux-Saint-Jean Revitalization Committee ; Proposed a pertinent series of workshop sessions oriented towards retail and business development ; Took up a position in the case of the highway 35 ; Maintained an extended range of services and activities destined towards members of the Chamber and the entire business community ; Favoured working together and the synergy between the various development agents. A solid action plan!
