2 LEGINSTRUCTIES NL Lees zorgvuldig deze aanwijzingen voor u begint. Controleer of de vloerdelen foutloos en onbeschadigd zijn, want garantie is alleen van toepassing op verborgen gebreken. Attentie: 48 uur in de gesloten verpakking laten acclimatiseren in de te leggen ruimte. Horizontaal en vlak neerleggen, op een afstand van minimaal 50 cm van de muur. (zie 1). Wat heeft u nodig Het enige gereedschap dat u nodig heeft is een hamer, een fijngetande (hand- of decoupeer) zaag, een duimstok, een potlood, een spandraad (touwtje) in de lengte van de kamer en een legset; bestaande uit een aanslagblok en een aanslagijzer en afstandsklosjes. (zie 2). > 0,2mm > 2mm > 1/16 Opslag De ruimte waarin u de vloerdelen gaat leggen dient droog te zijn. De vloerdelen dienen te worden gelegd bij een kamertemperatuur van minimaal 16 C. De relatieve luchtvochtigheid in het vertrek mag niet lager zijn dan 40% en niet hoger zijn dan 65%, te meten met een hygrometer. Ook tijdens en na het leggen moet het binnen de genoemde grenzen blijven. Zorg bij te hoge luchtvochtigheid voor voldoende luchtcirculatie en denk bij een lange droge periode, bijv. het stookseizoen, aan toevoegen van vocht aan de lucht met behulp van een luchtbevochtiger. Ingeval u zelf de vloerdelen voor langere tijd opslaat, dient dit in elk geval in gesloten verpakking bij kamertemperatuur te geschieden. De opslagruimte dient een gemiddelde relatieve vochtigheid te hebben van maximaal 65%. De vloerdelen niet opslaan in een ruimte met een te hoge vochtigheid. Voor u gaat leggen Uw Solidfloor is met de grootst mogelijke zorg geproduceerd. Toch adviseren wij u de vloerdelen te controleren op zichtbare afwijkingen zoals schades, extreme kleurverschillen en vorm c.q. maatafwijkingen, voor zover deze afwijkingen niet conform specificatie zijn. Raadpleeg uw dealer voor 1 2 de juiste specificaties van uw vloer. Eventuele reclames op zichtbare afwijkingen worden niet meer in behandeling genomen nadat de vloerdelen zijn gelegd. Zorg voor een goede verlichting tijdens het verwerken van de vloer. PLINTEN U kunt de bestaande plinten verwijderen en later na het leggen weer aanbrengen (zie 3). Overzet- en hogeplinten dienen aan de muur bevestigd te worden, zodat de vloer vrij onder de plint kan krimpen en uitzetten. Platte afdeklijsten kunnen op de vloerdelen worden geplakt. Omdat hout van nature uitzet bij vocht en krimpt bij droogte moet u tussen de muur en uw Solidfloor altijd een (zwel)ruimte open laten die gelijk is als de dikte van uw vloerdeel. Dus bij vloeren van 15 mm dik dient de zwelruimte 15 mm te zijn. U creëert deze zwelruimte met behulp van speciale afstandsblokjes, die u om de 40 cm plaatst. Deze zwelruimte is ook nodig bij eventuele pilaren, verwarmingspijpen en andere vaste objecten in de te leggen ruimte. Haal de afstandblokjes na 24 uur weg en vervang ze door veerkrachtige kurken of rubberen blokjes/strips. Ondervloeren Solidfloor vloerdelen kunnen op praktisch alle ondervloeren worden gelegd. Deze ondervloer dient wel blijvend droog, hard, vlak, schoon en goeddragend te zijn. Een vloer is vlak als er minder dan 2 mm hoogteverschil is over een afstand van 1 strekkende meter. Oneffenheden van meer dan 2 mm per meter moeten uitgevlakt worden. Betonnen ondervloer Een betonnen vloer mag niet meer dan 2% vocht bevatten (uw leverancier kan dit voor u meten met een vochtmeter). Hierop dient u een ondervloertapijt aan te brengen. Een 3 mm ondervloertapijt is technisch gezien voldoende 4 (zie 4). Tevens moet u altijd onder het ondervloertapijt een vochtisolerende folie (b.v. bouwfolie) aanbrengen. Naden dienen absoluut gesloten te zijn. 3 LEGINSTRUCTIES NL Houten ondervloer Een houten ondervloer mag een houtvochtgehalte hebben van maximaal 14%. Uw leverancier kan dit voor u meten met een houtvocht meter. U dient eerst te controleren of er geen loszittende delen tussen zitten, anders moet u deze vastschroeven (zie 5). Een vloer kunt u uitschuren of evt. uitvlakken met behulp van spaanplaat. Uw houten ondervloer moet worden voorzien van een ondervloertapijt. Een 3 mm ondervloertapijt is technisch gezien voldoende, maar een 7 mm zachtboardplaat heeft een betere egaliserende werking en wordt aanbevolen bij geringe hoogteverschillen. Bij een natte kruipruimte géén vloerdelen leggen. Houdt altijd rekening met voldoende ventilatie, anders zou uw houten ondervloer kunnen verstikken. Vloerverwarming EN -KOELING Voor het leggen van een houten vloer op vloerverwarming en -koeling zijn speciale richtlijnen waar u zich aan dient te houden. Zo is het type systeem van belang, het type ondervloer en ook het type parket. Beuken, Essen, Maple en Jatoba zijn nerveuze houtsoorten die in combinatie met vloerverwarming -koeling worden afgeraden. De garantie is niet van toepassing wanneer deze houtsoorten in combinatie met vloerverwarming en -koeling worden gelegd. Voor meer informatie over de richtlijnen Eisen ten aanzien van geluidsreductie Er zijn situaties waarbij het verplicht is een geluiddempende ondervloer te gebruiken. Uw leverancier heeft diverse ondervloertapijten in het assortiment die aan deze eisen voldoen. Vraag hiervoor naar het testrapport. Aanpassing deuren Controleer of met de hoogte van het parket tezamen met uw eventuele ondervloer uw deuren nog open en dicht kunnen. Zo niet, dan dient u uw deuren aan de veranderde omstandigheden aan te passen (in te korten) (zie 6). 5 6 LEGADVIES: Zwevend leggen van lamelparket door het lijmen in tong en groef De vloerdelen worden zogenaamd zwevend gelegd, door de panelen onderling te verlijmen door middel van watervaste PVAC houtlijm (D3 houtlijm). Bij verandering =D van de vochtigheidsgraad en temperatuur kan de vloer enigszins krimpen of uitzetten. Het is daarom noodzakelijk om bij alle vaste begrenzingen zoals: wanden, drempels, pilaren en c.v. pijpen rondom een zwelruimte (D) aan te houden in de dikte van de vloer (zie 7). In vloeren met een lengte van meer dan 12 meter of breder dan 6 meter dient u bewegingsvoegen aan te brengen, evenals bij deuropeningen, tussen kamers, bochten in gangen, enz. (zie 8). Deze bewegingsvoegen kunnen 8 worden afgewerkt door middel van speciaal hiervoor ontwikkelde dilatatie profielen. De kopse kanten van de vloerdelen in opeenvolgende rijen dienen te allen tijde minimaal 40 cm ten opzichte van elkaar te verspringen. 1. Nadat het ondervloertapijt volledig is gelegd, start u met het leggen van de vloerdelen een hoek van de kamer, die direct zichtbaar is bij het betreden van de kamer (zie 9). Bereken eerst het aantal banen dat u gaat leggen. U krijgt het beste resultaat als de eerste en de laatste baan ongeveer even breed zijn. Nu legt u het eerste paneel met de groef van de lange zijde richting wand. Meestal wordt gelegd in de lengte richting van de woning (met het licht mee). 2. U dient de vloer rondom een zwelnaad te geven. Plaats iedere 40 cm een afstandsblokje (zie10). Deze moeten 24 uur na het leggen van de vloer verwijderd 40 cm is een product van Fetim Professional Amsterdam - Nederland -

4 LEGINSTRUCTIES NL worden. Plaats nu het tweede vloerdeel etc. tot de eerste rij vloerdelen is gelegd. Nu controleert u of de eerste rij volkomen recht ligt d.m.v. het spannen van een touwtje (zie 11). Controleer nogmaals of de vloer recht ligt na het leggen van de 3 e rij. 3. Indien de wand niet geheel recht is, dient u de oneffenheden op de vloerdelen over te brengen. Dit kan door middel van een afstandhouder, voorzien van een potlood (zie 12). Zaag, nadat de vloerdelen zijn afgetekend, de delen zo, dat de uitsparingen en dergelijke passen. Denk wel aan de zwelnaad. Fijngetande zaag gebruiken. Bij gebruik van een handzaag de decorzijde naar boven houden, bij een decoupeerzaag de decorzijde naar beneden houden (zie 13). 4. Plaats de eerste rij panelen, door elk volgende paneel aan de korte zijde te verlijmen. Bij de tweede rij wordt begonnen met het reststuk van de eerste rij (zie 14). Dit stuk moet echter wel minimaal 40 cm lang zijn, zo krijgt de vloer optimale stabiliteit en geeft ook het minimum aan materiaal verlies. De panelen dienen over de gehele lange en korte zijde verlijmd te worden. Gebruik niet teveel lijm! (zie 15) MIN 40 cm 5. Bij het aanslaan gebruikt u het aanslagblokje van de Solidfloor parketlegset. Ook kunt u een houten balkje gebruiken van minimaal 30 cm (zie 16). Dit om 17 beschadigingen van de panelen te voorkomen. Na het aanslaan eventuele lijmresten direct met een licht vochtige doek verwijderen (zie 17). Na uitdroging van de lijm is verwijdering nagenoeg onmogelijk. 6. Voor het inpassen van de laatste rij vloerdelen legt u de vloerdelen met de decorzijde onder en de groef tegen de wand. Dan aftekenen en afzagen. Houdt ook rekening met de voorgeschreven zwelnaad (zie 18). Indien u moeilijk bij de laatste rij kunt komen, plaats dan de delen 1 voor 1 zo dicht mogelijk tegen de delen van de C B voorlaatste rij. Vervolgens stoot u de lange zijde met behulp van een trekijzer en hamer in elkaar. A De kopse kanten worden m.b.v. stootblok of trekijzer en hamer in elkaar gestoten. Na het leggen Uw Solidfloor is na het leggen direct begaanbaar (zie 19). U kunt nu aanvangen met de afwerking van de vloer. Tevens kunt u aanvangen met het monteren van de plinten. Bij reeds geoliede vloeren is het vaak raadzaam de vloer na het leggen na te behandelen met Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwax olie. Raadpleeg hiervoor de onderhoudsinstructies. Onderhoud Goed onderhoud verlengt de levensduur van uw vloer. Voor het juiste onderhoud verwijzen wij u naar de onderhoudsinstructies. Bescherm uw vloer door een goede vloermat bij de deur te leggen om inloop van zand te voorkomen. Tevens adviseren wij u uw meubel- en stoel poten met vilt te beschermen. Luchtvochtigheid Hout is een natuurproduct en reageert op de omstandigheden in de ruimte waarin deze ligt. Bijvoorbeeld bij een te lage luchtvochtigheid kan krimp of scheurvorming ontstaan. De optimale luchtvochtigheid in de ruimte dient voor hout tussen de 40% 65% te liggen. Indien de waarde onder de 40% komt is gebruik van een luchtbevochtiger gewenst. Ondanks deze maatregel blijft er, vooral in de winter, een kleine kans op kiervorming, scheuren of splinters bestaan, met name bij gebruik van vloerverwarming, of bij een lage luchtvochtigheid. GARANTIE In geval van twijfel over de juiste verwerking van de vloerdelen, altijd contact opnemen met uw aankoopadres, alvorens verder te gaan met leggen. Het uiteindelijke resultaat is sterk afhankelijk van de omstandigheden waaronder de vloerdelen zijn gelegd. Meer informatie over de garantie vindt u in onze garantiebepalingen. 5 ONDERHOUDSINSTRUCTIES NL Het is belangrijk om UW HOUTEN VLOER te beschermen en TE onderhouden! Regelmatig onderhoud verlengt de levensduur. Binnen de Solidfloor collecties zijn qua afwerking twee typen vloeren te onderscheiden: Oxidatief geoliede vloeren (O2) High Solid geoliede vloeren (HS) Bij alle oxidatief geoliede vloeren is het noodzakelijk de vloer na het leggen met Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwaxolie te behandelen. Bij de zogenaamde High Solid geoliede vloeren, deze zijn reeds in de fabriek geolied, en is het eerste onderhoud met de olie pas na een jaar gewenst (of eerder bij intensief gebruik). Raadpleeg de technische informatie op om vast te stellen welke behandeling voor uw vloer vereist is. Vergewis u er van of u een naturel of witte olie dient te gebruiken! Zie de onderhoudsinstructies verder in dit document. Zorg ervoor dat voor het oliën de vloer volledig schoon en stofvrij is. Neem de volgende voorzorgsmaatregelen: Regelmatig stofzuigen of met een zachte bezem vegen beperkt het risico van krassen. Gebruik een deurmat van goede kwaliteit. Vuil is de voornaamste reden van slijtage op houten vloeren. Door een mat buiten en binnen te leggen, voorkomt u dat vuil en zand krassen veroorzaken op de houten vloer. Monteer viltglijders onder uw meubels om het risico op krassen te voorkomen. Til zware meubels op tijdens het verplaatsen, in plaats van deze te schuiven. Indien water of andere vloeistoffen gemorst worden op de parket vloer moeten deze onmiddellijk opgedweild worden om vlekken en verkleuring te voorkomen. Als de vloer altijd goed onderhouden is, hoeft dit niet vaker dan één keer per jaar. Maar wacht niet totdat de olielaag versleten is. *** Controleer vóór het reinigen en oliën de instructies op het etiket van de Solidfloor Houtreiniger en de Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwax olie. 6 ONDERHOUDSINSTRUCTIES NL SOLIDFLOOR Houtreiniger (Artnr.: ) Reinigingsmiddel voor alle gelakte en geoliede parket vloeren Toepassingen Solidfloor Houtreiniger reinigt alle gelakte en geoliede houten vloeren. Bevat Solidfloor Houtreiniger is gebaseerd op polyethyleenglycolen. Technische gegevens Gebruikstemperatuur: C. Verdunning: met water, afhankelijk van de hoeveelheid vuil 1:50 en 1:100. Warm water verbetert het schoonmaakresultaat. Opslag: vorstvrij. Verpakking: 1 liter. Instructies voor gebruik Verdun de Solidfloor Houtreiniger met warm water (100 tot 200 ml op 10 liter). Reinigen met een vochtige doek of mop. Goed laten drogen. Belangrijk: Gebruik nooit teveel water. Hierdoor kan de parket vloer uitzetten en beschadigen. Controleer voor het reinigen de instructies op het etiket van de Solidfloor Houtreiniger. Bovenstaande productinformatie en aanbevelingen worden gegeven op goed vertrouwen en op basis van langdurige praktische tests en ontwikkeling. Wij kunnen niet verantwoordelijk worden gesteld voor de uiteindelijke resultaten, die afhankelijk zijn van factoren buiten onze directe controle. 7 ONDERHOUDSINSTRUCTIES NL Werkwijze handmatig oliën met Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwax Olie Hardwax olie wit (Artnr.: ) Hardwax olie naturel (Artnr.: ) Benodigdheden: Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwax olie is een onderhoudsolie op basis van plantaardige oliën en wassen Eigenschappen Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwax olie is een kwalitatief hoogwaardig product voor het onderhoud van alle geoliede oppervlakken. De Ultimate Hardwax olie is bestand tegen wijn, bier, cola, koffie, thee, vruchtensappen, melk en water conform DIN A. Bestand tegen speeksel en zweet conform DIN en voldoet aan de eisen voor kinderspeelgoed conform EN 71. Toepassing De Ultimate Hardwax olie is geschikt voor alle geoliede parket vloeren binnen. Regelmatig gebruik voorkomt het de vorming van loopstraten. Inhoudstoffen: Alifatische koolwaterstoffen, ricineenolie, natuurharsester, kiezelzuur, silicaatpigment, zinkcarbonaat, microwas, colloïdale klei, cobalt-, zirconium-, zink- en mangaan-octoaat als droogstoffen. Technische gegevens Verwerkingstemperatuur : Niet lager dan 16ºC. Droogtijd : 6 tot 12 uur (afhankelijk van omgevingstemperatuur en ventilatie). Materiaalverbruik : 1 liter = ca. 70 m2 bij een enkele laag. Reiniging gereedschap : Met Solidfloor Houtreiniger. Opslag : Koel en droog. Bij reeds geopende verpakkingen kan huidvorming optreden. Deze huid voor hernieuwd gebruik verwijderen. Veiligheidsadvies : Met Ultimate Hardwax olie doordrenkte doeken in water leggen (gevaar van zelfontbranding!). Daarna met het gewone huisvuil verwijderen. ChemVOCVerfV: 690 g/l (grenswaarde : 700 g/l Cat. A/f). Verpakking : 1 liter. Verwerking Voor gebruik goed roeren. De Ultimate Hardwax olie is gebruiksklaar. De ondergrond moet droog, stof-en vetvrij zijn. De te behandelende oppervlakte eerst met een neutrale reiniger (bijv. Solidfloor Houtreiniger) reinigen. Op kleinere oppervlakken de Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwax olie dun en gelijkmatig met een doek in richting van de houtnerf aanbrengen. Eventueel opgehoopte olie in de velling met een kwast uitsmeren. Wij adviseren om ruwe oppervlakken te behandelen met een mop in plaats van een doek. Bij grotere oppervlakken adviseren wij het gebruik van een éénschijfsmachine. De Ultimate Hardwax olie in de vorm van een slang op de vloer druppelen en met een éénschijfsmachine en een dikke witte pad inpolijsten. Op goede ventilatie letten. Vraag uw Solidfloor dealer naar de Solidfloor onderhoudsproducten. Bovenstaande productinformatie en advies zijn geheel vrijblijvend en gebaseerd op uitgebreide testen en ervaringen, echter vanwege de komst van nieuwe materialen, verschillende werkwijzen en andere door ons niet te beïnvloeden factoren kunnen wij geen aansprakelijkheid aanvaarden. 8 RICHTLIJNEN vloerverwarming en -koeling NL Het leggen van een Solidfloor vloer in combinatie met vloerverwarming of -koeling is heel goed mogelijk en zal uw woning optimaal comfortabel maken. Bij het leggen van een houten vloer in combinatie met vloerverwarming en -koeling dient u zich aan een aantal specifieke richtlijnen te houden. De Solidfloor garantie is, mits de onderstaande punten in acht worden genomen, van toepassing op houten vloeren die in combinatie met een vloerverwarming of -koelingsysteem worden gelegd. Bij het niet in acht nemen van deze punten vervalt echter de Solidfloor garantie. Hout is een natuurlijk materiaal en zal bij verandering van temperatuur en vochtigheidsgraad gaan werken (krimpen & uitzetten). Het is daarom van groot belang dat het vloerverwarming of -koelingsysteem op de juiste wijze wordt bediend. Dit voorkomt dat een houten vloer nadelig wordt beïnvloed. Richtlijnen vloerverwarming Alle vloeren uit de Solidfloor collecties, tot en met een maximale lamelbreedte van 26cm zijn geschikt voor vloerverwarming. Wij adviseren te allen tijde een systeem ten behoeve van de registratie van luchtvochtigheid en temperatuur te plaatsen. Doet u dit bijvoorbeeld met een Fidbox. Bij breedtes van 26cm dient in elk vertrek en per iedere 50m 2 in één ruimte een Fidbox geplaatst te worden. Zie voor meer informatie www. solidfloor.com/fidbox. Bij vloerverwarming met warm water: de dikte van de cementdekvloer/anhydrietvloer die over de verwarmingsbuizen wordt aangebracht, moet ten minste 30mm zijn. Om het toelaatbare vochtpercentage van de afwerkvloer te bereiken moet ongeacht het seizoen het voorgeschreven stookprotocol worden gevolgd. Voordat de vloerverwarming wordt opgestart moet de afwerkvloer minimaal 28 dagen oud zijn. Het vochtpercentage van de cementdekvloer mag voor het leggen van een houten vloer niet hoger zijn dan 1,5%. Bij een anhydriet vloer mag dit vochtpercentage niet hoger zijn dan 0,3%. De houten vloerdelen moeten ten minste 48 uur in gesloten verpakking in het vertrek kunnen acclimatiseren. Schakel de verwarmingsinstallatie twee dagen voor het aanbrengen van de houten vloer uit. Bij het leggen van de vloer mag de kamertemperatuur echter niet onder de 18 C zijn. Bij het zwevend leggen van de vloer wordt een geperforeerde onderlaag geadviseerd en bij het verlijmen dient een hiervoor geschikte watervrije lijm te worden toegepast. Raadpleeg hiervoor uw lijmleverancier. Bij gebruik van vloerverwarming kan de vloer niet gespijkerd worden. Als de houten vloer is gelegd kan de vloerverwarming in bedrijf worden gesteld volgens het voorgeschreven stookprotocol. In beginsel dient u de temperatuur van het oppervlak van de vloer zo laag mogelijk te houden. Om oververhitting van deelvlakken te voorkomen dient u verwarming door het gehele oppervlak zoveel mogelijk te benutten. Maximaal 30% van het vloeroppervlak mag afgedekt zijn door meubels en kleden. In de droge periodes van het jaar dient u een luchtbevochtiger te gebruiken om de luchtvochtigheid in de ruimte op minimaal 40% te houden. is een merk van Fetim Professional Amsterdam - Nederland -

9 RICHTLIJNEN vloerverwarming en -koeling NL richtlijnen Vloerkoeling Met betrekking tot vloerkoeling systemen is het belangrijk dat een geavanceerd regeling- en beveiligingssysteem wordt gebruikt om interne condensatie (dauwpunt regulering) voorkomen. Om schade aan de vloer te voorkomen, mag de temperatuur van het inkomende koelwater niet onbeperkt worden verlaagd en mag deze niet onder de dauwpunttemperatuur komen. Lagere temperaturen leiden tot condensatie in de vloer en kan schade veroorzaken aan het parket, zoals schotelen, vervormingen, zwelling en opening van de naden. Een goed veiligheidssysteem omvat automatische sensoren die detecteren wanneer het dauwpunt (= begin van de condens) wordt bereikt in het parket en schakelt vervolgens de koeling uit. Ruimtethermostaten mogen nooit worden ingesteld op een temperatuur van minder dan 24 C. Bovendien mag de thermostaat nooit ingesteld op een temperatuur 5 C lager dan de kamertemperatuur. Bijvoorbeeld, wanneer de kamertemperatuur 32 C is, mag de kamerthermostaat niet lager dan 27 C worden gezet. Voor effectieve vloerkoeling is een maximale warmte-weerstand van <0.09m² K/W voorgeschreven. De warmte-weerstand de vloeren in de Solidfloor collecties verschilt en kan hoger zijn. Hou daarom rekening met een zeker verlies aan capaciteit. Het stookprotocol voor het eerste gebruik De eerste dag stelt u de temperatuur van het ondervloersysteem in op 20 C. Vervolgens moet de temperatuur elke 24 uur met maximaal 5 C worden verhoogd. De systeemtemperatuur mag niet boven de 45 C komen en de vloertemperatuur mag maximaal 28 C bedragen. Let op! Ditzelfde geldt ook onder meubels, tapijten en bij verwarmingsbuizen. Deze maximum temperatuur dient u een aantal dagen aan te houden. Om het precieze aantal dagen te berekenen is het belangrijk te weten wat de dikte van uw afwerkvloer is. Is de afwerkvloer 5cm dik, dan betekent dat dat u 5 dagen lang de maximum temperatuur dient aan te houden. Het aantal dagen is dus gelijk aan het aantal cm dat uw vloer dik is. Bij het uitschakelen van de installatie moet de procedure in omgekeerde volgorde worden gevolgd. Advies: om temperatuurschommelingen zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen is het niet aan te raden de thermostaat s avonds laag en s morgens weer hoog te zetten. De totale procedure neemt uiteindelijk ongeveer 14 dagen in beslag. Zorg tijdens deze procedure voor een goede ventilatie in alle vertrekken, zodat het vrijgekomen vocht goed kan worden afgevoerd. Luchtvochtigheid Hout is een natuurproduct en reageert op de omstandigheden in de ruimte waarin deze ligt. Bijvoorbeeld bij een te lage luchtvochtigheid kan krimp of scheurvorming ontstaan. De optimale luchtvochtigheid in de ruimte dient voor hout tussen de 40% 65% te liggen. Indien de waarde onder de 40% komt is gebruik van een luchtbevochtiger gewenst. Ondanks deze maatregel blijft er, vooral in de winter, een kleine kans op kiervorming, scheuren of splinters bestaan, met name bij gebruik van vloerverwarming, of bij een lage luchtvochtigheid. Beuken, Essen, Maple en Jatoba zijn nerveuze houtsoorten die in combinatie met vloerverwarming en -koeling worden afgeraden. De Solidfloor garantie is niet van toepassing wanneer deze houtsoorten in combinatie met vloerverwarming en -koeling worden gelegd. Let op: Een houten vloer mag niet worden aangebracht op vloerverwarmingssystemen die vóór 1990 geïnstalleerd zijn. Deze systemen produceren over het algemeen te hoge temperaturen. 10 GARANTIEBEPALINGEN NL Garantie U heeft vanaf de aankoopdatum standaard 25 jaar garantie op een houten vloer uit de Solidfloor collectie op basis van onderstaande voorwaarden: Wij verlenen garantie op gebreken die op het moment van levering reeds aanwezig, maar niet direct voor eenieder zichtbaar, waren. Wij verlenen garantie bij normaal gebruik in woningen en bij projecten zoals kantoren, hotelkamers en boetieks. Vochtige en natte ruimtes zijn nadrukkelijk uitgesloten van garantieverstrekking. De vloer is gelegd volgens de Solidfloor leginstructie en onderhouden volgens de Solidfloor onderhoudsmiddelen. Bepalingen Garantie wordt verstrekt indien de klacht, schriftelijk en inclusief de originele factuur en garantiecertificaat, binnen 30 dagen nadat de klacht is ontdekt, of redelijkerwijze had behoren te zijn ontdekt, is gemeld aan het Solidfloor verkooppunt waar de vloer is gekocht. Deze garantie heeft uitsluitend betrekking op de geleverde vloerdelen, dus niet op arbeidsloon, bijkomende materialen en alle andere gevolgschade. De garantietermijn blijft ongewijzigd in geval van erkenning en het verhelpen van de klacht en zal nimmer worden verlengd. Bij een geschil voortvloeiend uit de garantie op uw Solidfloor kan elk van de partijen een beroep doen op een onafhankelijke deskundige, welke een bindend advies uit zal brengen, met dien verstande dat consumenten die niet handelen in bedrijf of beroep het recht hebben om binnen één maand nadat wij ons op dit beding hebben beroepen het geschil aanhangig te maken bij de gewone rechter. Optische gebreken ontstaan door het vervormen van de panelen door veranderende klimaatomstandigheden, in geval van kleurverschillen door invloed van zonlicht en de gevolgen van normale veroudering- en/of slijtageverschijnselen van de afwerklaag. 12 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS GB Carefully read these instructions before you start work. Check whether the floor panels are undamaged and fault-free, since the guarantee only applies to hidden defects. Important note: Place the material in the room in which the installation is to be done, without opening the packing, and allow it to acclimatise for at least 48 hours. The material should be placed flat on the floor in the horizontal position, at a distance of at least 50 cm from the wall (see 1). WHAT YOU WILL NEED The floor panels have a tongue and groove on all 4 sides, that enable the floor panels to be fitted into eachother mechanically. The only tools that you need is a hammer, a fine-toothed saw, a folding ruler, a tensioning wire (cord) along the > 0,2mm > 2mm > 1/16 length of the room, a set square, and an installation set that consists of a stop block, a stop iron and spacer blocks (see 2). 1 2 concerning visible deviations will not be entertained after floor panels have been installed. Ensure good lighting when installing the floor. SKIRTINGS You may remove the existing skirting boards and reinstall them after installation (see 3). To enable the floor to shrink and expand freely under the skirting boards, end-piece and transition skirting boards should be fixed on the walls. In other words, these skirting boards should not be fixed on the floor panels. Flat, self-adhesive skirting boards may be affixed to the floor panels. SUBFLOORS Floor panels can be installed on practically any subfloor. This subfloor should however be permanently dry, hard, flat, clean, and have adequate load-bearing capacity. A floor is flat if there is less than 2 mm height difference over a distance of one continuous meter. Unevenness exceeding 2 mm/ meter should be levelled out. 3 STORAGE The room in which you will be installing the floor panels should be dry. In case of new buildings, wait until the concrete floor, if any, is dry. The floor panels should be installed at a room temperature of at least 16 C, and a maximum of 20 C. The relative air humidity in the room, to be measured using a hygrometer, should not be less than 40% and not exceed 65%. The humidity should also remain within these limits during and after the installation. If the floor panels are going to be stored (in the packing) for long periods of time, such storage should always be at room temperature. The storage space should have an average relative humidity not exceeding 65%. The floor panels should not be stored in a room with a high level of humidity. BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION Your floor has been manufactured with the best possible care. However, we would still advise you to check the floor panels for visible deviations such as damage, extreme colour differences and shape or dimensional deviations. Contact your dealer for the correct specifications of your floor. Complaints CONCRETE SUBFLOORS 4 A concrete floor should not contain more than 2% moisture. You should install an insulating layer on top of this. A 3 mm underlayment will be adequate from the technical point of view (see 4). You should also always install a moisture insulation foil (for example building foil). Joints should be thoroughly sealed. The foil should extend behind and up the full height of the skirting board. WOODEN SUBFLOOR If the subfloor is from wood (moisture content of wood 10%, with a tolerance of ± 2%), check it for loose parts and tighten the same in place (see 5). Your supplier can carry out the required measurements using an wood humidity meter. You may level the floor by sanding it down or installing a chipboard sheet. Do not lay the boards if the crawl space is wet. Always make sure there is sufficient ventilation to allow the subfloor to breathe. Do not install floor panels in a wet crawl space. etc (see 8) These movement joints may be finished using specially developed dilatation joint profiles. There should be an offset of at least 40 cm between the top ends of the floor panels in consecutive rows. 8 UNDER FLOOR HEATING (UFH) and cooling If you want to lay a wooden floor on top of under floor heating and cooling, there are certain guidelines you must follow. It is important to know what type of system is being used, also the type of sub-floor underlay and the type of parquet. Beech, Ash, Maple and Jatoba are wood types that easily warp and, therefore, are not recommended for use in combination with under floor heating or cooling. The guarantee will not apply when these wood types are installed in combination with under floor heating or cooling. For more information about the guidelines: 1. After the sub-floor underlay has been laid, the next step is to start laying the boards. We recommend that you start in a corner of the room which is immediately visible when entering the room (see 9). First calculate the number 9 of tracks that you will be laying. You will obtain best results if the first and the last track are of approximately the same width. Now, lay the first panel with the groove of the length facing the wall. Usually, the panels are laid lengthways in the house (in the direction of the light). REQUIREMENTS WITH REGARD TO NOISE REDUCTION There are situations where a sound-damping sub-floor is required. Your supplier has various kinds of sub-floor underlay that meet these requirements. Ask for the test report. MODIFICATION OF DOORS Check whether your doors can open and close with the combined height of the flooring and your subfloor if any. If not, you may modify (shorten) your doors according to the changed situation (see 6) An expansion joint of around the thickness of the floor should be installed all around the floor. Place a spacer block at every 40 cm (see 10). Remove them 24 hours after the floor has been laid. Now place the second floor panel, and so on, until the installation of the first row of floor panels is com-pleted. Now check whether the first row is fully straight by tensioning a rope along the length (see 11). After the third row has been laid, check again if the floor is level. 40 cm LAYING INSTRUCTIONS: FLOATING OF ENGINEERED PLANK WOODFLOORING The boards are laid floating by gluing the panels together using water-proof PVAC wood glue (D3 =D wood glue). If the humidity level and temperature change, the floor may shrink or expand to some extent. For this reason, a play of the thickness of the floor (D) should be maintained with respect to all fixed boundaries such as: walls, thresholds, columns and central heating pipes (see 7). Movement joints should be installed if floors are more than 12 m long or more than 6 m wide, as well as near door openings, between rooms, at turns in passages, 7 3. If the wall is not fully straight, you should transfer the unevenness to the floor panels. This may be done using a spacer with a lead pencil (see 12). After the floor panels have been marked out, saw the same as required so that the recesses, etc., fit together. Keep in mind the expansion joint. Use a fine-toothed saw for the purpose. 14 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS GB 4. Lay the first row of panels by gluing each subsequent panel on the short side. In the second row, start with the remaining part of the first row (see 14). This part however, must be at least 40 cm in length, so as to ensure that the floor has optimum stability and also to ensure minimum loss of material. The panels should be glued along the entire length and width. Do not use too much glue! (see 15) 5. To tighten, use the stop block of the Solidfloor parquet-laying set. You can also use a wooden fillet of at least 30 cm (see 16). This is to avoid damage to the panels. After the panels have been tightened, remove any residual glue immediately with a slightly moist cloth (see 17). After the glue has dried, it will be almost impossible to remove any residue. MIN 40 cm 6. While fitting the last row of floor panels, lay the floor panels with the decorative side down with the 17 groove against the wall. Now make the required markings and cut with the saw (see 18). Also keep in mind the prescribed expansion C joint of 15 mm, and that the floor B should be free all round. If it is difficult to reach the last row, lay A 18 the boards one by one as close as possible against the boards of the last row but one. Then push them together lengthwise using a pull iron and a hammer. The cross-cut ends are tightened using a stop block or a pull iron and hammer MAINTENANCE Good maintenance will increase the life of your floor. For proper maintenance, we refer you to your supplier. Protect your floor by placing a good floor mat near the door in order to prevent the entry of sand. We also advise you to protect your furniture and chair feet with felt (see 19). Humidity Wood is a natural product and reacts to the conditions of the room in which it is installed. Shrinkage or cracking can occur when the humidity is too low. The best condition for a wooden floor is a relative air humidity of between 40% and 65%. Shrinkage may occur when the relative air humidity is lower making the use of a humidifier a requirement. Despite these measures, there is a small chance that gaps, cracks or checks may occur when under floor heating is used especially in the winter, or when the relative air humidity is low. GUARANTEE: This engineered floor has been manufactured with due care. If however, hidden material and/or manufacturing defects appear within 25 years of the date of purchase, you may contact your supplier on presentation of your payment receipt. Check our guarantee provisions for all details! Important: Preserve your payment receipt, as well as the guarantee certificate which is included in each pack. 19 AFTER INSTALLATION You may start using the floor immediately after installation. You may now start finishing operations on the floor. The spacer block should be removed immediately. You may also start installing the skirting boards. 15 Maintenance instructions GB It is important to protect and maintain your floor! Regular maintenance will prolong its lifespan. Within the Solidfloor collections, two types of floors can be distinguished with regards to the type of finish: Oxidatively oiled floors (O2) High Solid oil oiled floors (HS) All oxidatively oiled floors need to be treated with Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwax oil after laying the floor. This is not the case with the so-called High Solid floors; these floors only require the first oil-treatment maintenance after one year, or earlier in case of intensive use. These floors are already oiled in the factory. Please consult the technical information on to determine which treatment for your floor is needed. Make sure to acquire information as to whether to use a white or natural coloured oil! Please also refer to the instructions maintenance further on in this document. Before applying the oil, make sure that the floor is completely clean and free of dust. Please take the following precautions: Regular vacuum cleaning or sweeping with a soft broom will reduce the risk of scratches. Use a good quality doormat. Dirt is the main cause of wear on wood floors. Placing a doormat outside and inside will help to catch dirt and sand that might otherwise leave scratches in the surface of the wood. Put protective felt pads under your furniture to reduce the risk of scratches. Lift rather than drag heavy furniture when moving it. Any water or other spills should be mopped up immediately to prevent stains and discolouration. Ultimate Hardwax oil is resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water according to DIN A. Resistant to saliva and sweat according to DIN Meets all the demands of children s toys according to EN 71. Applications All kind of oiled wooden floorings. Contains Aliphatic hydrocarbons, castoroil, natural resin-ester, silicic acids, silicate pigments, zinkcarbonate, microwax, bentonite, cobalt, zirconium, zinc and manganese octoate as drying components. Technical data Working temperature : Not below 16ºC. Drying time : 6 to 12 hours (depending on temperature and ventilation). Usage : 1 litre = approx. 70 m2 in one layer. The ground surface must be dry and free of dust and grease. First clean the surface with a neutral cleaner (such as Solidfloor Wood Cleaner). Let dry properly. Apply Ultimate Hardwax oil onto small areas in a thin and even layer with a cloth with the grain of the wood. Please spread out with a brush any excess oil which you may find in the bevel. For the rough surfaces we advise to use a mop instead of a cloth. For larger areas we recommend using a buffing machin. Dribble the Ultimate Hardwax oil on the surface in the shape of a snake and polish it in with a buffing machine with a thick white pad. Ask your Solidfloor dealer for the Solidfloor maintenance products. 18 Guidelines under floor heating and cooling GB Installing a Solidfloor floor in combination with under floor heating and cooling can be easily achieved and will ensure your home is as comfortable as possible. When installing a wooden floor in combination with under floor heating and cooling you must, however, follow a number of specific guidelines. The Solidfloor guarantee applies to wooden floors that are installed in combination with an under floor heating or cooling system as long as the points below are observed and implemented. The Solidfloor guarantee will not apply if the guidelines for floor heating and cooling as given in this document have not been followed and implemented. Wood is a natural material and may warp (shrink or expand) when the temperature or humidity level changes. It is, therefore, very important that the under floor heating and cooling system is correctly operated. This will ensure that a wooden floor is not negatively influenced. guidelines Floor heating All floors in the Solidfloor collections, up to a maximum width of 26cm are suitable for underfloor heating. We always recommend to install a system for the recording of the humidity and temperature. We advise to install a Fidbox for this. For widths of 26cm in every room and at each 50m 2 in a room a Fidbox needs to be installed. For more information With under floor heating using hot water: The thickness of the concrete floor screed/anhydrite floor that is poured/applied over the heating pipes must be 30mm at least. The prescribed heating protocol must be followed regardless of the season to achieve the allowed moisture percentage of the screed. The screed must be at least 28 days old before the under floor heating is turned on. The moisture percentage of the concrete screed may not be higher than 1.5% before the wooden floor is installed. This moisture percentage may not be higher than 0.3% with regard to an anhydrite floor. The wooden floorboards must be allowed to acclimatise for at least 48 hours in their unopened packaging in the room where they are to be installed. Switch off the central heating system two days before the wooden floor is to be installed. The room temperature, however, may not be lower than 18 C when the floor is installed. We recommend using a perforated underlay when installing a floating floor and, if gluing, use a suitable water-free adhesive. For more information consult your adhesive supplier. Nails cannot be used when installing a floor on under floor heating. When the wooden floor has been installed, the under floor heating can be put into operation in accordance with the prescribed heating protocol. In principle, the temperature of the surface of the floor has to be as low as possible. To avoid overheating of part planes you should heat the entire surface as much as possible. Up to 30% of the floor area may be covered by furniture and rugs. 19 Guidelines under floor heating and cooling GB guidelines Floor cooling Regarding to floor cooling systems, it is important that an advanced control and protection system is used to prevent internal condensation (dew point control). To prevent damage to the floor, the temperature of the incoming cooling water is not unlimited and must not come below the dew point temperature. Lower temperatures cause condensation in the floor and can cause damage to the flooring, such as dishing, deformity, swelling and opening of the seams. A good safety system includes automatic sensors that detect when the dew point (= start of condensation) is achieved in the parquet and then switches off the cooling. Room thermostats should never be set to a temperature lower than 24 C. In addition, the thermostat is not set to a temperature 5 C lower than the room temperature. 20 Guarantee provisions GB Guarantee You shall have a 25-year guarantee on a wooden floor from the Solidfloor collection as from the purchase date on the basis of the terms and conditions below: We provide a guarantee with regard to defects and/or shortcomings that were already present when delivery took place but that were not visible to the naked eye. We provide a guarantee with regard to normal use in residential properties and with regard to contract work such as offices, hotel rooms and boutiques. Humid or wet rooms are expressly excluded from this guarantee. We provide a guarantee if the floor has been installed in accordance with the Solidfloor installation instructions and is maintained well using the Solidfloor maintenance products in accordance with the maintenance instructions given. Provisions The guarantee shall apply if a complaint has been reported to the Solidfloor supplier where the floor was purchased within 30 days after the issue of the complaint has been discovered or should have been discovered in all reasonableness. Please report complaints in writing and include the original invoice and warranty certificate. Should it be deemed that the guarantee applies, either the faulty floor section shall only be replaced or the faulty floor sections shall only be reimbursed in accordance with the provisions made in this guarantee certificate. Should the relevant wooden floor from the Solidfloor collection no longer be available, an equivalent alternative shall be provided. Should this clause be applied, the costs must be agreed upon in advance in writing amongst the parties. This guarantee is an addition and not an exclusion of the statutory rights that the consumer who does not act in a professional or commercial capacity has. If there are stains or mechanical damage to the surface (dents, scratches, etc.) due to negligent treatment during transportation and storage and in case of damage as a result of stilettos, furniture, stones, sand, pets, etc. This guarantee certificate shall only be governed by Dutch law.
