2 EN FR NL sophia, the Belgian gender studies net work, cordially invites you to UNRULY BODIES. GENDER \ NORMS \ RESISTANCE. A conference that delves into bodies that fall outside of what is considered normal and aims to deconstruct bodily norms, give a voice to people whose bodies are unruly, question biases, explore the subversive potential of feminist interventions and map resistances. Unruly Bodies will offer a multilingual space for exchange and experimentation among people with academic, artistic, activist, self-taught and interdisciplinary backgrounds On the 29th of October, join us at the KVS for lectures, screenings and performances on de/ colonising bodies and new representations of sickness, disability and age, as well as a keynote lecture by Noortje van Amsterdam titled Let s Talk About Fat. Raising Critical Questions and Debunking Cultural Myths. On the 30th of October paper sessions, artistic interventions and hands-on workshops will take place in Amazone. The conference concludes with a lecture by Sam/Marie-Hélène Bourcier, a reception and a performance by KLITTERS. sophia, le réseau belge des études de genre, a le plaisir de vous inviter à UNRULY BODIES. GENRE \ NORMES \ RÉSISTANCES. Ce colloque consacré aux normes corporelles s interrogera sur leur (dé)construction et leurs impacts. Il explorera les possibilités de subversion et de résistances. La parole reviendra en priorité à celles et ceux dont le corps est perçu comme hors-norme, indiscipliné ou indisciplinable. Nous offrirons et créerons ensemble un espace d échanges et d expérimentations pour des personnes issues de milieux variés : chercheur e s, artistes, militant e s, autodidactes et passionné e s de perspectives interdisciplinaires. Le 29 octobre, c est au KVS que nous vous accueillerons pour des conférences, des performances et des films sur la dé/colonisation des corps et sur de nouvelles représentations de la maladie, de la vieillesse et du handicap. La soirée se clôturera sur une conférence de Noortje van Amsterdam intitulée Let s Talk About Fat. Raising Critical Questions and Debunking Cultural Myths. Le 30 octobre, des présentations de recherches et des ateliers pratiques se dérouleront à Amazone. La clôture sera assurée par Sam/Marie-Hélène Bourcier. Een conferentie waarop lichamen die buiten de normen vallen en de (de)constructie van lichaamsidealen centraal staan. We willen personen met unruly lichamen een stem geven, vooroordelen in vraag stellen, subversief potentieel exploreren en verzet in kaart brengen. Unruly Bodies biedt een meertalige ruimte voor uitwisseling en exploratie tussen personen met academische, artistieke, activistische, autodidactische en interdisciplinaire achtergronden. Op 29 oktober kan je in de KVS terecht voor lezingen, performances en films rond het de/koloniseren van lichamen en het creëren van nieuwe representaties voor ziekte, ouderdom en handicap. De avond wordt afgesloten met een keynote door Noortje van Amsterdam getiteld Let s Talk About Fat. Raising Critical Questions and Debunking Cultural Myths. Op 30 oktober vinden gedurende de hele dag papersessies in Amazone plaats, maar ook praktische workshops, tentoonstellingen en een afsluitende lezing door Sam/Marie-Hélène Bourcier, een receptie en een performance van het collectief KLITTERS.
