2 AIGP Atelier International du Grand Paris Presentation 2015 The Atelier International du Grand Paris (AIGP) leads research, development, communication and networking activities related to the major issues concerning Grand Paris, specifically by the intermediary of its Scientific Council. It constitutes a place of experimentation, creation and diffusion. Following the international consultation Le Grand Pari(s) de l agglomération parisienne in 2008, the Atelier International du Grand Paris (International Workshop of Grand Paris) was established in order to continue and develop the analysis of the architects, urban planners, researchers and experts who had contributed to this event. The AIGP is a public interest group. Its governance is divided equally between the state (Ministry of Culture and Communications, Ministry of Territorial Equality and Housing, the Prefect of the Île-de-France Region and the Prefect of Paris) and local government authorities (Île-de-France Regional Council, City of Paris, Association of Mayors of the Île-de-France Region, the Paris Métropole public organisation). Its chairman is Mr Pierre Mansat and executive director is Ms Mireille Ferri. Renewed in June 2012 following an international call for candidates, the AIGP s Scientific Council is composed, since 2013, of 14 multidisciplinary teams, each led by an architect-urbanist. The Program Committee of the AIGP contributes, in relation to its Scientific Council, to the definition and orientation of its actions. This committee is gathered around the AIGP, the Atelier Parisien d Urbanisme (Parisian Urban Workshop), the Regional Institute for Urban Planning (IAU-ÎdF), the Regional and Interdepartmental Direction of Infrastructure and Urban Planning (DRIEA-IF) and representatives of the Board of Directors of the AIGP. 4 De janvier à juin 2015, l Atelier International du Grand Paris et son Conseil scientifique proposent autour de sept entrées thématiques, une série de rendezvous de travail, de réflexions et d échanges. Après une séquence introductive, chaque thématique, traitée conjointement par deux équipes du Conseil scientifique, se traduit dans le cadre d un séminaire du Conseil scientifique couplé à une soirée-débat. The Atelier International du Grand Paris has the firm intention to provide the debate with contributions bringing together research dealing with these two challenges. The result is an intensive study programme involving its Scientific Council. This programme has the full backing of the Governance of the AIGP, and has also engendered new partnerships with a series of public institutions, including the Mission de Préfiguration de la Métropole (responsible for setting up the new metropolitan administration) and the Société du Grand Paris (responsible for Paris s new suburban metro network). The first missions of 2015, through the combined prisms of climate transition and the reduction of inequalities, hinge upon seven themes: 1. World metropolis. 2. Migrations and solidarities. 3. Urban and architectural qualities and innovations. 4. Mobility and habitats. 5. Governance. 6. Risks and resilience. 7. New economy. Throughout the year, these themes will nourish the work and times of exchange of a sequence of Scientific Council Seminars and public evening debates, the Questions Vives ( Serious Issues ). Moreover, each team, within the frame of a supplementary mission, is currently engaged in elaborating territorial demonstrations serving to clarify their approaches in spatial terms. These studies will form the basis, this coming autumn, for a major exhibition taking place during the Climate Change Conference. This ambitious, original and multidisciplinary event will set forth future perspectives, and outline actions involving the inhabitants of Grand Paris, France, and our planet.
