18 Qu est-ce que c est un horaire pour un jour normalement au lycée? Au lycée, nous avons des horaires très différents en fonction des jours de la semaine. Le lundi nous commençons à 8h et nous terminons à 18h. Le mardi nous commençons à 8h et terminons à 17h. Le mercredi nous commençons à 8h et terminons à 12h. Le jeudi nous commençons à 8h et terminons à 18h. Enfin, le vendredi nous commençons à 8h et terminons à 14h. Et le midi nous avons 1h pour manger. De 8h à 12h puis de 13h ou 14h à 17h ou 18h. C est un peu irrégulire donc dur de se statuer pour un jour normal

19 What is your schedule like on a normal day of school? At school, we have very different schedules based on each day of the week. Monday, we begin at 8 AM and end at 6 PM. Tuesday, 8 AM - 5 PM. Wednesday, 8 AM - 12 PM. Thursday, 8 AM - 6 PM. And, finally, Friday, 8 AM - 12 PM. And in the afternoon we have one hour to eat. From 8AM to 12PM, 1PM, 2PM, 6PM, or 6PM. It s a little irregular so it s hard to say what a normal day is.

20 Qu est-ce que tu fais après l école normalement? Habituellement après l école je travaille parce que nous avons beaucoup de devoirs. Et les mardis et jeudis je vais à mes entrainements d escrime. Vu que nous terminons l école relativement tard nous n avons pas le temps de faire grand-chose. Je vois parfois mes amis (pas plus d une heure) ou alors j ai une activité (théâtre) puis je rentre chez moi pour manger avec ma famille et faire mes devoirs.

21 On an average day, what do you do after school? Normally after school I work because we have a lot of homework. And Wednesdays and Thursdays I go to my fencing practices. Since we finish school relatively late, we don t have time to do much. Sometimes I see my friends (but not for very long) or I have an after-school activity (theatre) then I return home to eat with my family and do my homework.

22 Qu est-ce que c est un weekend typique pour toi? La plupart des weekends j ai une compétition d escrime. Si je n ai pas de compétitions d escrime, je vais en ville avec des amis. Je fais mes devoirs le samedi matin puis je mange avec ma famille. Ensuite je vais en ville avec mes amis ou je reste chez moi me reposer (c est à dire geeker ou lire ). Le samedi soir, je sors parfois avec mes amis, ou alors je vais au cinéma, ou je reste avec ma famille. Le dimanche je fais la grasse matinée et je ne fais pas grand chose. Si j ai des contrôles importants qui arrivent, je travaille. Le soir, je regarde généralement un film avec mes parents.

23 What is a typical weekend for you? The majority of weekends I have fencing competitions. If I don t have a fencing competition, I go into town with my friends. I do my homework Saturday morning then I eat with my family. After that I go into town with my friends or stay home and rest (that is so geeky to say...). Saturday night, I go out sometimes with my friends, or I go to the movies, or I stay home with my family. On Sunday I sleep in and don t do anything big. If I have important tests coming up, I work. At night, I ll generally watch a movie with my parents.

24 Quand est-ce que tu vois tes amis? Où? Souvent ou pas? Je vois mes amis tous les jours au lycée. Autrement on s organise des trucs le weekend comme des séances de cinéma, des fêtes, des sortis au café. Donc je dirais qu on se voit souvent. Des fois même on s organise des séances de révision lorsqu il y a des contrôles importants qui arrivent. Je vois mes amis après les cours ou le week-end. Je les vois un peu pendant la journée si je suis en cours avec eux ou pendant les pauses. Je ne les vois pas trop pendant les vacances car ils sont internes et habitent loin de chez moi. Je les vois au lycée, en ville, aux fêtes, au café. parfois chez moi ou chez eux.

25 When do you see your friends? Where? Often or not? I see my friends every day at school. Otherwise we plan things on the weekend like going to the movies, parties, or cafés. So I would say that I see them often. Sometimes we ll plan things to do even when other, important things come up. I see my friends after classes or on the weekend. I see them a bit during the day if I have class with them or during breaks. I don t see them very often during vacations because they re boarders and live far from my house. I see them at school, in town, at parties, at cafés, and often at my house or theirs.

26 Est-ce que tu es contente avec ta vie au lycée? Estce qu il y a quelque chose tu voudrais changer? Oui je suis relativement contente avec ma vie au lycée. Mais bon parfois les journées 8h-18h sont beaucoup trop longues. Et le soir nous n avons pas le temps de faire des activités extra scolaires. Je suis globalement contente de ma vie et de ma vie lycéenne. Toutefois, nous passons beaucoup de temps au lycée. Pendant la semaine, nos journées sont consacrées aux cours et nous ne profitons vraiment de notre temps libre que le week-end. Il y a aussi beaucoup de pression quand à la réussite scolaire.

27 Are you content with your high school life? Is there anything you would change? Yes, I m relatively happy with my high school life. But for sure the 8 AM - 6 PM days are often too long. And at night we don t have time to do extracurricular activities. I m generally happy with my life and life at high school. However, we spend a lot of time at school. During the week, our days are devoted to classes and so we really like to make the most of our free time during the weekends. There s also a lot of pressure for academic success.
