Montage de la structure principale et des chambres. 1/ We recommend using the optional Khyam Stone Protection Sheet to protect the groundsheet of your tent from stones e.t.c. The SPS sheet will also keep the underside of your main tent Groundsheet clean and dry making it easier and quicker when striking camp. 1/ Nous recommandons d utiliser le Tapis de Protection Khyam en option pour protéger le tapis de sol de votre tente des pierres, épines, etc. Le TdP permettra également de conserver le dessous du tapis de sol de la tente propre et sec rendant ainsi le départ du camp plus facile et rapide 2/ Carefully remove the tent from the carry bag and place upright in front of you with the pole end bag covers pointing upwards. ( You will see that one end has the pole joints covered by a separate fabric bag, this end should be pointing upwards ). 2/ Sortez la tente de son sac et placez-là verticalement face à vous avec la capote de maintien de l extrémité des mâts placée en haut. ( Vous remarquerez qu un coté du paquet de la tente a un petit sac pour maintenir les mâts, celui-ci doit être en haut ). 3/ Remove the pole joint cover and you will see a secondary pole joint cover over a central group of poles. Allow the outer lower poles, positioned around the central poles to gently lower to the ground. 3/ Retirer la capote de maintien des mâts et vous découvrirez une seconde capote sur le dessus du groupe de mâts central. Laissez les mâts externes plus court situés autour des mâts du centre s étaler sur le sol. 4/ Remove the pole joint cover over the central group of poles as well. 4/ Retirez également la capote du groupe de mâts central. ( Please note that the protective covers are there to protect the main fabric of you tent from becoming trapped or damaged between the poles or joints during packing and pitching. Montage de la structure principale et des chambres. 5/ Now allow all the central poles to gently lower to the ground. 5/ Etalez les mâts du groupe central en étoile sur le sol. 6/ You should now have the tent flat on the ground with all the poles forming a star shape in front of you. 6/ Votre tente est maintenant à plat sur le sol, les mâts formant une étoile. 7 Placing your hand under the central hub, carefully lift the central hub to waste height ensuring that fabric is not trapped in either the central hub or any of the joints. 7/ Placez vos mains sous le moyeu central et soulevez-le à une hauteur suffisante vous permettant de vous assurer que le tissu n est pas coincé soit dans le moyeu central ou dans les articulations. 8/ Placing the lowest Knee joint on the floor A The upper Auto joint B will then lock into place as you push Gently down on the top manual joint C until it locks into place. Montage de la structure principale et des chambres. 9/ Whilst still supporting the central hub, repeat point 8 on the second main pole. 9/ La seconde personne soutenant toujours le moyeu central, répétez la séquence 8 sur le deuxième mât principal. 10/ Finally repeat point 9 on the opposite 2 main poles. 10/ Répétez finalement la séquence 9 sur les 2 mâts principaux opposés. 11/ Unroll the Tri Guys from their pouches and peg out as shown. 11/ Sortez et déroulez les cordes de haubanage de leur pochette et piquetez comme indiqué sur la photo. 12/ Remove the protective padded covers from the 4 corner Auto joints. 12/ Retirez les housses de protection moltonnées des 4 articulations intermédiaires automatiques. 5

Montage de la structure principale et des chambres. 13/ Should the padded cover be trapped in the joint simply push the joint inwards slightly which will open the joint and allow the fabric to be removed. ( Please note that the protective cover is there to protect the main fabric of you tent from becoming trapped in the joint during packing and pitching. These covers should be put back into place before striking your tent ) 13/ Si une housse de protection moltonnée est coincée dans l articulation, poussez simplement légèrement l articulation vers la tente pour lui permettre de s ouvrir un peu et permettre ainsi de pouvoir dégager le tissu. ( Veuillez prendre note que les housses de protection servent à éviter que le tissu de la tente ne soit pincé et esquinté dans l articulation au montage et démontage. Ces housses de protection doivent être remise en place lorsque vous pliez la tente.) 14/ Loosen the guy rope at position A A 14/ Détendez le hauban avec le curseur de tension A 15/ Gently lift the upper pole sections and unfold the lower section of pole from underneath the tent. 15/ Soulevez les sections supérieures du mât et dépliez la section inférieure du mât de dessous la tente. 16/ With the pole foot on the ground, push gently inwards at position A and the pole will lock automatically. Then tighten the guy rope at position B as shown to support the pole now at full height. 16/ Positionnez l embase du pied du mât au sol et poussez l articulation vers l intérieur en position A qui se verrouillera automatiquement. Tendez maintenant le hauban avec le curseur de tention B comme sur la photo pour sécuriser le mât. B A 6

Montage de la structure principale et des chambres. 17/ Remove the protective bags on the base foot section of the pole. 17/ Retirez les sacs de protection situés sur les embases de pied de chaque mât. ( Please note that the protective covers are there to protect the main fabric of you tent from becoming trapped or damaged between the poles or joints during packing and pitching. These covers should be put back into place before striking your tent ) ( Veuillez prendre note que les capotes de protection et maintien des mâts servent à éviter que le tissu de la tente ne soit pincé et détérioré entre les mâts ou les articulations au montage et démontage. Ces capotes de protection doivent être remise en place lorsque vous pliez la tente. ) 18/ Repeat points 14 to 17 on the remaining 3 main poles so the tent is standing at full height. 18/ Répétez les séquences 14 à 17 sur les 3 autres mâts pour finir le montage. 7

One bedroom pole set is made up of a 2 section adjustable aluminium upright pole which is linked by a grey folding auto joint, to two shock corded aluminium roof pole sections. The other 2 section bedroom pole set will be the same but the grey folding auto joint will only link it to one aluminium roof pole section. 19/ Repérez les mâts d extension des chambres. Un jeu de mâts d extension de chambre est composé d un mât de relevé vertival à 2 sections réglables en aluminium et de 2 sections de mât de toit en aluminium reliées par une articulation automatique grise. L autre mât de relevé vertival à 2 sections réglables en aluminium est identique mais avec 1 seule section de mât de toit en aluminium reliéé par une articulation automatique grise. ONE COMPLETE BEDROOM POD POLE SET JEU DE MÂT D EXTENSION CHAMBRE COMPLET A 20/ Take the upright adjustable pole section which is linked to two aluminium roof poles and assemble the pole. Ensuring the joint has locked out the correct way SEE A with the small plastic eye facing the flysheet. 20/ Prenez le mât de relevé vertical relié aux 2 sections de mât de toit en aluminium et assemblez-les. Assurez-vous que l articulation est en position ouverte - VOIR A avec le petit crochet en plastique situé du coté du double-toit. 21/ Thread the top two sections of roof pole through the sleeves of the bedroom roof section of the flysheet as shown Repeat the same with the upright adjustable pole section with one aluminium roof pole linked via the grey auto joint, however thread this in from the opposite side of the bedroom until the swaged section of one pole meets with the open section of the opposite pole. 21/ Glissez les 2 sections de mât de toit dans les fourreaux d extension de chambre. Répétez cette opération avec le mât de relevé vertical n ayant qu une section de mât de toit par le coté opposé des fourreaux jusqu à ce que l extrémité mâle d un mât.se rencontre avec l extrémité femelle du mât opposé. 8

Montage de la structure principale et des chambres. 22/ Once you have assembled and threaded the bedroom pole set, ensure you have not missed any bedroom pole sleeves out and then gently push the spiked end of the bedroom pole towards the main corner base section of the bedroom compartment A. 22/ Lorsque vous avez glissé et assemblé le jeu de mâts d extension de chambre, assurez-vous de ne pas être passé à coté d un des fourreaux et enfoncez l extrémité pointue du mât de relevé vertical vers la base de l angle principal du compartiment chambre A. A 23/ Place the spike on the end of each bedroom pole through the hole in the plastic foot section as shown. 23/ Enfoncez l extrémité pointue de chaque mât de relevé vertical dans le trou de l embase du pied comme sur la photo ci-contre. A 24/ The standard position for the adjustment is with the spring button centrally positioned as shown. Adjustments can then be made up or down as required. 24/ Le réglage standard est avec le bouton à ressort en position centrale. Les réglages peuvent se faire vers le haut ou le bas suivant la nécessité. 25/ Fix the side bedroom clips into position as shown. 25/ Fixez les Clips latéraux des chambres en position comme sur la photo. 9

Montage de la structure principale et des chambres. 26/ Peg the adjustable webbing loops on each main corner of the bedroom section. 26/ Piquetez les boucles de sangles réglables situées sur chaque angle principal des extensions de chambre. 27/ Peg the main corner and vent tri guy system into position on each side of the bedroom as shown. 27/ Piquetez le haubanage 3 points de l angle principal et du volet de ventilation de chaque coté de l extension de chambre comme sur la photo. 10

11 BEDROOM POLES ( PETWORTH & LONGLEAT ) MÂTS D EXTENSION CHAMBRE ( MODELE PETWORTH & LONGLEAT ) If you have purchased either of the Petworth or Longleat models please note that the erection instructions are the same as the Chatsworth or Harewood with the exception of the bedroom poles. The Petworth & Longleat bedroom poles are steel and use pre formed pole sections for the roof and wall sections of the bedroom as opposed to the aluminium poles and auto joints referred to and pictured in the Chatsworth & Harewood instructions. Simply assemble the 3 pre curved sections ( a,b & c ) together as shown below and thread through the poles sleeves on each bedroom section. Finally assemble the adjustable side poles supplied and fit into the open ends of the pre curved bedroom pole sections ( d & e ). The spiked ends of the bedroom poles fit into the holes in the grey plastic feet as described in the Chatsworth & Harewood insturctions. Assemblez ensuite les mâts de relevé latéraux et insérez l extrémité mâle dans l extrémité femelle des sections de mât de toit ( d & e ). Les pointes situées à l extrémité des mâts de relevés latéraux d extension de chambre doivent être enfoncées dans les trous des embases grises comme indiqué dans les instructions des modèles Chatsworth & Harewood. d a b c e 11

12 Harewood De Luxe If you have purchased the Harewood De Luxe you will now need to assemble the porch area of your tent. Si vous avez acheté une Harewood De Luxe, vous devez monter le porche d extension maintenant. 1/ With the main part of the tent already erected locate the Shockcorded fibreglass roof pole. 1/ La structure principale de votre tente étant montée, repérez l arceau classic de toit composé de plusieurs sections en fibre de verre reliées par un élastique. 2/ Thread the pole through the pole sleeves in the roof of the porch. 2/ Glissez cet arceau dans le fourreau situé sur le toit du porche d extension. 3/ Then taking the steel upright sections assemble the sections So you have a long upright pole with an adjustable section at The base and an angled section at the top. 3/ Assemblez maintenant les sections de mât en acier pour obtenir 2 mâts de support vertical composée d une partie réglable à la base et d une section pliée à 45 en haut. 4/ Carefully position the open end of the angled section over the black plastic joining bung on the one end of the fibreglass roof pole. Ensure the pole sleeve of the roof is pulled well over the joining bung. Carefully position the pole spike on the base of the upright pole into the eyelet in the webbing strap found at the base of the porch side panel. Please note the pole should slant backwards slightly. 4/ Insérez une extrémité en plastique noir de l arceau de toit en fibre de verre dans la section courbé du mât en acier et assurez-vous ensuite que le fourreau glisse par dessus cette jonction. Positionnez la pointe d extrémité inférieure du mât dans l oeillet de la sangle cousue sur le coté, au bas du panneau latéral du porche. Le mât doit pencher légèrement vers l avant de la tente. 5/ Repeat this on the opposite side of the porch 5/ Répétez cette opération de l autre coté du porche. 6/ Finally peg and guy the porch. 6/ Maintenant piquetez et haubannez le porche. 12

13 POSITIONING AND PEGGING OF TRI GUY ROPES AND STANDARD GUY ROPES MISE EN PLACE ET PIQUETAGE DES HAUBANS TROIS POINTS ET DES HAUBANS STANDARD 28/ The Ridgi-dome pole system, as with all Khyam tents, is on the outside thus offering an infinite number of guying positions just by simply attaching a guy rope to the frame work itself. However there are purpose made attachments for the guy ropes on the underside of the to corner auto joint (see FIG 22 E). These attachments are for the tri-guy system which is supplied and fitted to your tent ready for use. In the unlikely event that you should need to remove one or all of the tri-guy systems, please make sure you have noted the way in which they are attached for your future reference. Should you ever need fitting instructions these are available through your Ridgidome dealer. E FIG 22 28/ Comme pour toutes les tentes KHYAM, les mâts de la gamme Ridgi-dome sont situés à l extérieur, ce qui offre un choix illimité de positions de haubanage, simplement en fixant une corde à l armature elle-même. Toutefois, des points de fixation de haubans sont prévus spécialement sur les articulations automatiques (voir fig. 22E). Ces points de fixation correspondent aux haubans trois points fournis avec votre Ridgidome. Dans le cas fort improbable où vous devriez ôter un hauban trois points, notez bien la façon dont ils sont fixés. Si vous avez besoin d instructions de fixation, adressez-vous à votre revendeur. 29/ Each tri-guy has been secured for transit by gathering all the rope together and tying in a loose knot. Untie each individual tri-guy gathering and locate the limiter fitting attached to the end of the guy rope (the limiter will consist of 2 black plastic rings attached to each other with an elastic shock cord. The final black plastic Ring will have a webbing pegging point attached to it) The limiter has been designed to ensure that you tension the main pole tri-guys correctly, particularly not over guying. The guy runner on the top section of each tri-guy is to allow for adjustment when erecting the tent in windy conditions and should not be used to tension the tri-guys when the tent is fully erected. Moving the runner after the tent has been pitched may result in the guy line being over or under tensioned. If you do accidentally move a runner always check the limiter on the base of the guy line. 13

14 POSITIONING AND PEGGING OF TRI GUY ROPES AND STANDARD GUY ROPES MISE EN PLACE ET PIQUETAGE DES HAUBANS TROIS POINTS ET DES HAUBANS STANDARD 29/ Pour le transport, nous avons fixé les haubans trois points par un nœud. Défaites les nœuds des haubans et repérez le régulateur de tension qui se trouve à l extrémité du hauban (le régulateur comprend deux anneaux de plastique noir reliés par une boucle élastique ; l anneau noir du bout comporte une sangle de piquetage). Le régulateur vous permet de régler correctement la tension des haubans trois-points. L anneau situé au sommet des haubans trois-points permet uniquement l ajustement pendant le montage de la tente en cas de vent; il ne doit pas servir à régler la tension lorsque la tente est montée. Si l on déplace l anneau alors que la tente est montée, la tension des haubans devient trop forte ou trop faible. Dans ce cas, vérifier le régulateur (voir fig. 22). 30/ When pegging each tri-guy into position always ensure that the shock corded elastic, on the limiter, is not fully stretched (see FIG 23). The small guy-line loop on the limiter should be loose (see FIG 24). 30/ Lorsque vous piquetez les haubans trois-points, assurez-vous bien que l élastique du régulateur de tension ne soit pas trop tendu (voir fig. 23). 15 POSITIONING AND PEGGING OF TRI GUY ROPES AND STANDARD GUY ROPES MISE EN PLACE ET PIQUETAGE DES HAUBANS TROIS POINTS ET DES HAUBANS STANDARD 31/ Bedroom guy ropes should be pegged as far from the Tent as possible (see FIG 22). 31/ Les haubans des chambres doivent être piquetés le plus loin possible de la tente. N.B. It is important to note that the guy ropes should not be over tensioned as this will only distort the overall Shape of your tent, enough tension to arrest the poles movement is all that is needed. Guy ropes should also be pegged as far from the tent as possible this way you will achieve a more lateral tension thus giving maximum support to your Ridgi-dome. Over tensioned loosen guy line Trop tendu détendez le hauban N.B. Il ne faut pas trop tendre les haubans car cela a pour effet de déformer votre tente. La tension doit être suffisante pour empêcher tout mouvement des mâts, c est tout. Les haubans doivent toujours être piquetés le plus loin possible de votre tente, de manière à optimiser la tension latérale, et donc la stabilité de votre Ridgi-dome. FIG 24 32/ Now securely peg all remaining intermediate pegging and guy points. Also securely peg the lower base side skirt all around the edge of the tent. 16 Fitting the inner tents. Mise en place des chambres intérieures. 33/ Lay one of the two inner tents out flat in the chosen bedroom compartment as shown. Ensure that the plastic clips and the back two corners of the inner tent are positioned into the corner sections at the rear of the bedroom compartment. 33/ Etalez une des deux chambres intérieures dans une extension chambre comme sur la photo. Assurez-vous que les mousquetons en plastique cousus aux angles à l arrière sont positionnés du coté du fond de l extension chambre. 34/ Clip the front & rear of the inner tents to the D ring in each corner of the bedroom compartment. 34/ Fixez les mousquetons cousus à l avant et à l arrière de la chambre après les anneaux de fixation en forme de D au fond du compartiment chambre 35/ Starting at the back lift up and clip the brass hooks on the inner tent to the rings in the roof of the bedroom section. Open an inner tent door and step onto the groundsheet of the inner tent. This will ensure the roof and wall fabric of the inner tent is free to move as you lift it up. 35/ En commençant par le fond, soulevez et accrochez les crochets en cuivre de la chambre après les anneaux sous le toit de l extension chambre. Ouvrez une porte de chambre pour marchez sur le tapis de sol de la chambre. Ceci permettra au toit et aux murs de la chambre d être libre de tout mouvement quand vous les soulèverez. 36/ Once the inner tent has been clipped into position it should appear as shown. 36/ Lorsque la chambre a été mise correctement en place, elle doit être comme sur la pfoto ci-contre. 16

17 Taking your tent down. Démontage de votre tente 1/ Taking your Ridgi-dome down is simply a reversal of the erection procedure. First unclip, unpeg and remove all inner tents and fold neatly in half keeping the inner fabric inwards to protect it from mud and wet grass etc. Place the inner tents to one side. 1/ Le démontage de votre Ridgi-dome est tout simplement la procédure inverse du montage. Tout d abord, retirez les piquets, démontez les chambres et pliez-les par moitié, en les enveloppant dans le tapis de sol pour les protéger de la boue, de l herbe humide, etc. Placez les chambres de côté. 2/ Un peg all the guy ropes and peg points including any pegs in the mud walling / base skirt etc. It is always best to leave the tri-guy system on until the tent is sitting on its knees. Striking camp in windy conditions is covered in greater detail in the customer service video enclosed. Again we strongly recommend the assistance from a second person when taking a large family tent down. 2/ Dépiquetez tous les haubans et points d ancrage y compris les piquets fixant jupe basse du double-toit. Par temps venteux, il est préférable de laisser les haubans en place jusqu à ce que la tente repose sur les «genoux». Il est également conseillé d être deux pour le démontage. L installation par temps de vent fait l objet d une description particulière dans le film vidéo (en anglais) offert. 3/ Leave The tri-guy Ropes and standard guys tied in position ready for next time, but it is advisable to gather each guy rope neatly together and tie it into a loose knot to keep it from becoming tangled in the frame work of your Ridgi-dome. 23 IMPORTANT USER HINTS Q. What about the strength and durability of the poles and joints can I trust them? A. In simple terms yes you can trust the poles and joints. The technology has existed for several years. The wall poles are constructed from tubular steel for rigidity with the roof poles being constructed from aluminium for flexibility. The poles are clipped into the joints which are moulded from nylon with glass filling, which adds hardness to the nylon. The rivets are brass and the springs are stainless steel. Q. Do poles or joints break and if so what can I do? A. It is rare that the poles or joints break when used in accordance to our instructions. They are extremely durable and have been tested to exacting standards. We cannot guarantee that there will never be a breakage but we can guarantee that we will supply any replacement pole sections or joints required during the warranty period. Should you need to rectify a problem joints are simply unclipped from the pole ends by depressing the retaining pin found on the underside of the joints. This way a separate pole or joint can be replaced without the need to change the whole pole. Any part of a Khyam tent can be replaced and we always endeavour to keep spare in stock. Spares are available to take with you whist camping and can also be obtained at a subsidised rate to allow you the comfort of insurance without great penalty. Please contact your stockist. Storm damage is not covered by the Khyam warranty. If you are travelling to an area not serviced by a Khyam dealer we recommend you take spares with you. Q. What about spares can I get them? A. Yes spares should normally be available from your stockist. In case of difficulty you may contact us directly. Q. Are KHYAM tents water resistant? A. All KHYAM fabrics are coated to withstand a minimum of 200 cms head of water in the hydrostatic head test. This is the measurement when the fabric is new and in use over a period of time this level will drop unlike natural fabrics, which will recover after sewing, synthetic fabrics do not. You will notice that the majority of seams on your Ridgidome have been tape sealed during manufacture. However any untapped seams should be sealed before using the tent. It is important that sealant does not get onto the mechanism of any zips as it will impair it s operation and finally damage the teeth of the zip. Sealant can easily be applied by erecting your Ridgi-dome and before fitting the inner tents, moisten the tip of the applicator, apply down the inside of any untapped seams and around the base of the inner tent hanging loops to prevent wicking in this area. Allow at least 48 hours for the sealant to cure. Your Ridgi-dome should never be packed away until the sealant is completely dry. Should any of the inner tent hanging loops wick apply a small amount of the seam sealant on the outside of the tent covering the area where the loop is stitched into the main seam 23 OTHER USEFUL POINTS TO BEAR IN MIND Never remove pegs by pulling up on the poles or fabric. By doing this you may damage the pole ends or feet invalidating the guarantee. Always use a peg puller or another peg. 1. If you break a grey foot this can be easily replaced without any adjustment to the stitching. Replacement feet can be fitted quickly and easily. A spare foot is included in the repair kit. 2. All synthetic fabrics will fade over a period of time. This is caused by ultra violet rays from sunlight and atmospheric pollution. The weakening of fabric, which can be very dramatic, is dependant upon the frequency of use and the conditions during use. Recent loss of the ozone layer will increase this kind of degradation. With normal weekend and holiday use, your tent will give you good service if well looked after, but extended periods of use in bright sunlight can cause this type of dramatic degradation. If such use is envisaged, then it would be wise to seek a site which is as shaded as possible. The better the tent is looked after the longer will be it s life. Because of this it is not possible for us to predict nor guarantee the life of any synthetic fabric. Having said this the flysheet and inners are replaceable, which can be done as and when required. Also tent fabrics are capable of being reproofed. Always follow relevant proofing manufactures instructions when reproofing your tent. 3. A common problem experienced by many campers is condensation. This is caused by moisture in the atmosphere forming beads or droplets of water when coming into contact with a cold surface. This may form on the walls of the inner tent but more likely on the inside of the flysheet. Condensation can also occur on the groundsheet of the tent particularly under air mattresses, bedrolls and other equipment. The use of a KHYAM original stone protections sheet may help to reduce the problem and will help to protect the sewn in ground sheet. Always ensure that the stone protection sheet does not protrude the edge of the flysheet. The storing of wet clothing and other wet articles inside the tent will also increase the likelihood of condensation. To reduce condensation as a whole, never cook in your tent and ensure that the tent is well ventilated at all times by using the mosquito net doors on the inner tent. Your Ridgi-dome is vented on each bedroom annexe as well as the front entrance and side mesh window sections (where applicable) 4. When setting up a KHYAM Ridgi-dome always use caution to prevent any fabric being caught in the pole system. If this does occur then carefully release the fabric to prevent any rips. Small rips may be repaired using the enclosed repair kit. Severe damage will need professional attention. 5. Do not put your Ridgi-dome away wet or damp for any length of time as this can create mildew. When packing away your tent at the end of the season ensure that it is thoroughly aired and dried out. 6. Four hanging loops are provided inside the inner tent these must only be used for either the optional roof lining or lightweight items such as a small battery torch. On no account should a naked flame (e.g a gas lamp) or other hot objects be suspended from this point. 7. Never cook in your tent. Synthetic fabrics will melt and may catch fire if they come into contact with a flame or very hot object. Always take extreme care when cooking near your tent, e.g Sparks from a barbecue, camp fire etc.

24 CONSEILS D UTILISATION Quelles sont la résistance et la durabilité des mâts et des articulations? Sont-ils fiables? R. Oui, vous pouvez avoir confiance dans les mâts et les articulations. Cette technologie existe depuis des années. Tous les mâts sont fabriqués en acier tubulaire pour la rigidité et les sections de toit en aluminium pour la flexibilité. Le tissu des double-toits Khyam sont imperméabilisés et peuvent recevoir plus de 200 cm d eau au test de résistance hydrostatique. Ce chiffre correspond à une tente neuve, mais il tend à baisser avec le temps. Les fibres naturelles reprennent leur forme après couture, ce qui n est pas le cas des tissus synthétiques. Vous remarquerez que la majorité des coutures de votre Ridgi-dome sont recouvertes d un ruban adhésif. Cependant, les points d ancrage de la chambre et toutes les coutures à découvert peuvent être imperméabilisés avant d utiliser la tente. Ne jamais imperméabiliser les fermetures éclair car cela en gênerait le fonctionnement et risquerait d en endommager les dents. Pour appliquer facilement l agent imperméabilisant, montez votre Ridgi-Dome et, avant de fixer les chambres, passez l applicateur sur toutes les coutures non thermosoudées, et autour des points d ancrage supérieurs. Laissez sécher l agent imperméabilisant pendant 48 heures au moins. Ne jamais replier la tente avant qu il soit bien sec. AUTRES CONSEILS IMPORTANTS Ne jamais retirer les piquets en tirant sur les mâts ou sur le tissu. Ceci endommagerait les embases des mâts et annulerait la garantie. Toujours utiliser un autre piquet ou un tire-piquet. Si vous brisez une embase grise, elle peut être remplacée facilement. Une embase de secours est fournie dans le kit de réparation. Tous les tissus synthétiques se décolorent avec le temps, du fait des ultra-violets et de la pollution. La diminution de la résistance des tissus, élément très important, dépend de la fréquence et des conditions d utilisation. La diminution récente de la couche d ozone accroît ce phénomène. Dans le cadre d une utilisation normale pendant le week-end et les vacances, votre tente vous donnera entière satisfaction si vous l entretenez convenablement; toutefois, une exposition intensive au soleil peut entraîner ce genre de problèmes. Recherchez donc un site le plus ombragé possible. L entretien étant déterminant, il nous est impossible de prédire ou de garantir la durée d utilisation d un tissu synthétique. Ceci dit, le double toit et la chambre sont remplaçables séparément. En outre, le tissu peut être réimperméabilisé. Dans ce cas, bien suivre les instructions des fabricants. Problème courant : la condensation. Des gouttes apparaissent sur les parois de la chambre, et plus généralement à l intérieur du double-toit, ainsi que sur le tapis de sol (sous les matelas gonflables, les sacs de couchage, etc.) Il est possible d atténuer ce problème en utilisant le tapis de protection. Bien s assurer que ce tapis ne dépasse pas sur les côtés du double-toit. La condensation augmente si on conserve dans la tente des vêtements ou autres objets humides. Assurez-vous donc que la tente est bien ventilée en permanence. Ne cuisinez jamais dans la tente. Lors du montage, évitez soigneusement de prendre le tissu dans les articulations des mâts. Si cela se produit, dégagez le tissu avec précaution pour ne pas le déchirer. Vous trouverez dans le kit de réparation le nécessaire pour réparer les petits accrocs. Les grandes déchirures nécessitent, elles, l intervention d un spécialiste. Ne stockez pas votre tente si elle est humide, car elle risquerait de moisir. Lorsque vous la rangez en fin de saison, assurez-vous qu elle est bien sèche. La chambre comporte quatre boucles. Utilisez-les uniquement pour suspendre le sous-toit supplémentaire ou des objets légers. Pas de flammes nues ni d objets chauds. Ne cuisinez jamais dans votre tente. Les tissus synthétiques fondent et s enflamment dès qu ils sont en contact avec une flamme ou un objet très chaud. Prenez toujours de grandes précautions lorsque vous cuisinez à proximité de votre tente (étincelles du barbecue, d un feu de camp, etc). 24
