PRESENTATION DU COURS: Etude des principaux concepts théoriques d'inflation; de chômage; de demande, d'offre, de dépense et de revenu agrégés; de monnaie; de taux de change et de taux d'intérêt. Discussion des phénomènes suivants: récessions et dépressions, déficit budgétaire, et balance des paiements. EVALUATION ET L'EXAMEN FINAL: Participation 20% Examen intra no. 1 25% mardi 7 février Examen intra no. 2 25% mardi 27 mars Examen final 30% avril 2012 Aucun examen ne sera repris. Un étudiant qui ne pourra pas se présenter à un examen le jour indiqué sur le plan du cours devra convaincre le professeur qu'il a une bonne raison (médicale, par exemple), pour remettre la date de son examen. Aucun examen ne sera administré à l'avance. Le plan du cours représente un contrat formel entre le professeur et les étudiants, et pour assurer un traitement équitable de tous les inscrits, il ne sera accordé à aucun étudiant une modification de l importance relative des différentes composantes de la note finale.

Aucune des notes individuelles pour les différents examens n'est déterminante. L'examen final aura lieu durant la période des examens (du 16 au 25 avril) et durera 2 heures. Tous les examens comprendront (1) des questions à choix multiple et (2) des questions à réponse courte. Notes: Students seeking reappraisal of a piece of graded term work (term paper, test, essay, etc.) should discuss their work with the instructor within fifteen days of the work being returned to the class. The Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOIP) legislation disallows the practice of having students retrieve assignments from a public place eg: outside the instructor s office, etc. Term assignments must be returned to students individually, during class time or during the instructor s office hours. If a student is unable to pick up an assignment from the instructor, he/she may provide the instructor with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to be used for the return of the assignment. It is the student s responsibility to request academic accommodation. If you are a student with a documented disability who may require academic accommodation and have not registered with the Disability Resource Centre, please contact their office at Students who have not registered with the Disability Resource Centre are not eligible for formal academic accommodation. You are also required to discuss your needs with your instructor no later than 14 days after the start of the course.

It is assumed that the student will make himself/herself available during exam week, which this year is from April 16 th to April 25 th. Any student who is unable to write at the time designated on the official examination schedule will need to approach the Dean s Office to request a Deferred Exam, or other formal arrangement. The instructor has no say over granting approvals for such requests. Excuses which will not be accepted include holiday plans, work schedules, misreading of the timetable, weather conditions, transportation problems and so on.
