2 CONTROVERSES ET ACTUALITÉS EN CHIRURGIE VASCULAIRE CONTROVERSIES & UPDATES JANUARY MARRIOTT RIVE GAUCHE & CONFERENCE CENTER PARIS, FRANCE Dear colleagues Controversy and Updates in Vascular Surgery (CACVS) is an international post graduate course for Vascular Surgeons, Cardiac Surgeons Vascular Radiologists and Angiologists. The course includes a main session of two and a half days devoted to all aspects of vascular diseases and their treatments. A special focus is given on the most recent available data from on-going or recently published trials, technical aspects for selected vascular or endovascular procedures and debates on controversial topics. This year, main topics are aneurysms, aortic dissections, carotid interventions, peripheral occlusive diseases, vascular accesses and interventions for venous diseases. On Saturday, a parallel session devoted to venous topics will provide the delegates with the most up-to-date information. Venous hands-on training sessions will be available for participants on Friday afternoon. Finally, symposia devoted to specific vascular issues will complete the course. Since the first meeting 23 years ago, the concept of CACVS, along with a very busy schedule, has never disappointed the attendees whose number has been steadily growing every year. In January, Paris the city of the lights is full of interests and surprises and the Marriott Rive Gauche hotel is an exceptional place extremely well located. The faculty includes world-wide renowned experts who have been carefully selected according to their peculiar knowledge in the topic(s) they will present. Finally the combination of thorough and casual approaches allows fruitful exchanges between speakers and delegates. Jean-Pierre Becquemin Chers collègues, Le congrès des Controverses et Actualités en Chirurgie Vasculaire (CACVS) est une formation post universitaire internationale de haut niveau s adressant aux chirurgiens vasculaires et cardiaques, radiologues vasculaires et angiologues. Cette conférence comprend une session principale de deux journées et demie dédiées aux maladies vasculaires et à leurs traitements. Les présentations concernent les toutes dernières études menées, les aspects techniques des interventions vasculaires ou endovasculaires ainsi que des débats sur des thèmes sélectionnés. Cette année, les thèmes abordés sont les anévrysmes artériels, les dissections aortiques, les interventions carotidiennes, les maladies artérielles occlusives périphériques, les accès vasculaires et les traitements des maladies veineuses. Le samedi, une session parallèle dédiée aux veines apportera aux participants les toutes dernières informations sur le sujet. Des workshops veines seront proposés le vendredi après-midi. Enfin, des symposia consacrés à des problèmes vasculaires spécifiques complèteront le congrès. Depuis sa création il y a 23 ans, le congrès CACVS, fort d un programme très complet, n a jamais déçu ses participants, dont le nombre ne cesse d augmenter avec les années. En janvier, Paris, «La cité des lumières», offre une multitude d opportunités et de surprises, et l hôtel Marriott Rive Gauche est un lieu d exception situé idéalement au coeur de la capitale.
