1 2 Marinfo Ecole de Sausalito Vendredi 3 Octobre 2014 Friday, October 3 rd 2014 Le mot du Directeur Bonjour à tous, Aujourd hui c est déjà le 23 ème jour de classe Toute notre communauté éducative a pris ses repères et nous remarquons, chaque matin, toujours autant d enthousiasme des élèves à franchir l entrée du campus. Nous sommes maintenant pleinement engagés dans cette année scolaire. Je me permets un rappel afin de pouvoir compter sur vous pour respecter les horaires d entrée en classe. L accueil, directement dans les classes pour les maternelles et dans la cour pour les plus grands, s effectue à partir de 8h20. Les élèves rejoignent les classes à 8h30 pour tous les élèves du CP au CM2 et avant 8h40 pour les élèves de la maternelle. Maintenant, les premiers projets, les premières sorties arrivent. Lundi prochain sera dédié aux photographies scolaires et à partir de mercredi ce sont les élèves des deux classes de CM1 qui se rendront en voyage scolaire pour trois jours à Coloma afin de revivre la ruée vers l or. Les CE2 ont commencé un cycle de danse Hip-hop, les CE1 celui de tennis, les CM2 se déplaceront sur le campus de Ashbury pour débuter la liaison inter campus autour de jeux des chiffres et des lettres Le premier Conseil des élèves a eu lieu la semaine dernière. Les thèmes traités ont porté sur les organisations et les règles à suivre dans le campus. L objectif principal est que l élève soit réellement acteur et décideur dans l établissement. Pour finir, mercredi 8 octobre aura lieu la «journée des transports alternatifs pour se rendre à l école». Les succès des éditions passées sont une preuve que nous devons continuer à organiser cette action. Vous trouverez certaines informations dans ce Marinfo. 2 A word from the Director Hello everyone, Today we are marking our 23 rd day of school, the teachers have got their bearings and every morning we are glad to see the students arriving on campus full of enthusiasm. We are now fully engaged in this school year. I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents of the morning schedule: The classroom doors open for the kindergarten and preschool children at 8:20 a.m. and the playground is open for the elementary children at 8:20 a.m. Classes start at 8:30 am for all the students from 1 st through 5 th grade and at 8:40 a.m. for the Kindergarten and preschool classes. Our first projects and fieldtrips are coming up Next Monday will be dedicated to the students school photographs and starting on Wednesday the students of both 4 th grade classes will be going for a three day field trip to Coloma to relive the Gold Rush. The 3 rd graders have started their Hip Hop sessions, the 2 nd graders their tennis classes and the 5 th grade students will be going to San Francisco to meet their Ashbury peers and play quiz games. These field trips are important to the life of the classroom and allow learning in different situations. The first Student Council was held last week. The topics focused on organization and the campus rules. The main objective is for the students to become actively involved in the decision making process at the school. Finally, Wednesday, October 8 th will be our International Walk and Roll to school day. This has been a successful event in the past and is proof that we must continue. Commandes de livres Scholastic Les commandes de livres Scholastic pour le mois de septembre ont été passées. Les livres devraient arriver dans les deux prochaines semaines et seront distribués aux enfants dans leur classe. English Department News Congratulations to our four contestants, Mitra Manshouri (5 th grade A), Johnny Kalache (5 th grade B), Eden Patron (4 th grade A) and Eva Valentina Almond (4 th grade A) who represented the Lycée Français de San Francisco, Sausalito Campus, at the Marin County Central Region Spelling Bee on Thursday, October 2 nd at Old Mill Elementary, Mill Valley. Scholastic Book Orders The September Scholastic book orders have gone through. The books should arrive within the next two weeks. They will be distributed to the children in their classrooms. 7 Les enfants de Grande Section B étudient le vent studying wind in Kindergarten B En Grande Section B, les élèves ont expérimenté les effets du vent sur différents objets. The Kindergarten B, students studied the effects of wind on different objects. De retour en classe, ils ont utilisé différents objets permettant de créer du vent (ventilateurs, éventails, gonfleurs, pompes, pailles ). Back in the classroom, they used different objects to create wind (electric fans, fans, air pumps, pumps, straws...). Merci aux parents qui avaient apporté tous ces objets extraordinaires! Il y a deux services de repas, le premier à 12h15 et l'autre à 12h45. Les classes changent à chaque periode de vacances; depuis la rentrée, les classes de CP et CE1 mangent en premier. Les autres classes jouent à l'exterieur pendant ce temps. Puis les groupes s'inversent. Nous faisons en sorte que les enfants prennent leur déjeuner dans des conditions confortables et dans une atmosphère agréable pour tous. Nous assurons l'utilisation des micro ondes, veillons à ce que les enfants mangent correctement, organisons des "tours" pour manger dehors sur la terrasse, supervisons l'ambiance en général et les boites à déjeuner en particulier... Pour la récréation du midi, les enfants ont l option jeux collectifs ou les structures du terrain de jeux. Les soirs, les enfants ont l option jeux collectifs, jeux libres ( briques en bois, freesbees, cerceaux, cordes, craies...), dessins/jeux de sociétés sur les tables et structures du terrain de jeux. Nous coordonnons ces activités selon le nombre d'enfants présents avec nous. Ils peuvent goûter sur les tables quand ils le souhaitent. Anne-Laure Bredehoft. Surveillante midi et soir. Classes change every holiday period; since September, the 1st and 2nd graders eat first. The other classes play outside during this time. Then the groups are reversed. It is important that the children eat lunch in a pleasant atmosphere for everyone. We ensure the use of microwave, make sure that the children eat properly, arrange "turns" to eat outside on the patio, and generally make sure that everything is under control. For lunch recess, the children have the option of group games or the playground structures. In the afternoon the children have the option of group games, free play (wooden bricks, Frisbees, hoops, ropes, chalk...), drawings / board games on the tables and playground structures.
