Nos prestations : nous vous offrons un encadrement personnalisé et un suivi tout au long de votre séjour : proposition de plusieurs dossiers de famille (une à la fois), mise en relation avec ces dernières, soutien dans les démarches administratives, organisation de votre arrivée, correspondant sur place, aide dans le choix des cours de langues, changement de famille si besoin, etc... Vous aurez un entretien Skype afin d évaluer votre niveau d anglais. Votre candidature sera vérifiée et sera proposée à des familles correspondant à vos attentes. Vous serez mise en contact avec votre future famille. Une fois acceptation de part et d autre, vous recevrez une confirmation de votre placement, les coordonnées de votre correspondant local ainsi que de nombreux conseils. Vous réglerez les frais de scolarité une fois votre placement confirmé. 2 un album photo : collez sur des pages de format A4 quelques photos (de vous avec vos parents, gardant des enfants ou faisant des activités avec ces derniers (à la piscine, dessinant, etc,..)). Vous pouvez également faire un montage grâce à un ordinateur et en imprimer le résultat. Il est important que vos photos soient de bonne qualité car elles sont destinées à être scannées et à être envoyées par mail à votre future famille d accueil. Pensez à légender vos photos. une lettre de motivation dans la langue du pays choisi d environ 500 mots : vous devez vous décrire, parler de votre famille, de votre expérience auprès des enfants, vos motivations, etc Gardez en mémoire qu une famille en lisant votre lettre pourra savoir si vous êtes la/le bon(ne) Demi-pair pour ses enfants. Vous devez la rédiger par vous-même. Bien sûr, vous pouvez vous aider d un dictionnaire mais il est important qu elle reflète votre niveau de langue réel. Votre lettre doit être dactylographiée et signée par vous. un extrait de casier judiciaire (à demander par courrier Casier Judiciaire National 107, rue du Landreau NANTES CEDEX 3 ou en ligne une photocopie de votre passeport, une photocopie du permis de conduire si vous l avez, les photocopies des diplômes obtenus (Bac ou attestation de niveau, études secondaires, attestation du niveau de langue du pays choisi, BAFA, diplômes de premiers secours, etc ), deux références de garde d enfants complétées par des personnes différentes et qui ne font pas partie de votre famille. Peu importe que vos gardes d enfants aient été rémunérées ou non, déclarées ou non, dans le milieu professionnel ou chez des particuliers. Seule compte votre expérience réelle. Plus vous aurez cumulé d expériences, plus vite vous serez placé(e). Mettez à profit votre temps libre pour aller chercher vos petits voisins à l école, les garder pendant les vacances en journée, effectuer un stage bénévole dans une crèche... une référence de moralité par une personne étrangère à votre famille : un professeur, un employeur ou un voisin. Inutile de demander à votre meilleure amie de la remplir, nous ne pourrons malheureusement pas la prendre en considération. le règlement de la cotisation à l Association : 150 (non remboursables et encaissés dès réception du dossier) par chèque bancaire ou postal à l ordre de «Fée rêvée», par mandat postal ou en espèces. Le solde de l inscription sera envoyé après confirmation du placement dans une famille. 3 PROCÉDURE DE PLACEMENT DEMI-PAIR Après validation de votre dossier, vous réglerez à l école de langue votre programme une fois votre placement dans une famille d accueil confirmé ou au plus tard 1 mois avant la date prévue d arrivée. 4 BON À SAVOIR PROGRAMME DEMI-PAIR LE SÉJOUR DU DEMI-PAIR : UN ÉCHANGE CULTUREL Vous désirez séjourner dans un pays étranger quelques mois afin d approfondir vos connaissances linguistiques. Votre objectif est de vous immerger dans la langue et la culture de ce pays. En échange d une pension complète chez elle, vous participez aux tâches familiales courantes en particulier auprès des enfants. LES AVANTAGES DU PROGRAMME DEMI-PAIR Vous venez dans le pays choisi pour une durée de 8 à 24 semaines en fonction du pays et du programme choisis. Vous serez logée, nourrie et blanchie, dans votre famille d accueil. Vous jouirez d une chambre individuelle, et éventuellement de votre propre salle de bains. Vous serez accueillie comme un membre de la famille. Vous travaillerez entre 15 et 20 heures et deux baby-sittings par semaine selon l emploi du temps proposé par la famille et en fonction du pays choisi. Selon les destinations, vous bénéficierez à votre arrivée d une formation et / ou recevrez un Welcome pack. Vos cours : Vous suivrez des cours dans une école de langues pendant la durée choisie. Vous pourrez changer de niveau en fonction de vos progrès. Vous aurez la possibilité de passer des examens ou des diplômes en fonction de vos dates de séjour et de votre niveau. L inscription à ces examens se fera sur place et n est pas comprise dans le prix du programme. Dans tous les cas, vous recevrez une attestation de niveau. Vous bénéficierez de toutes les commodités qu offre l école : accès Internet, bibliothèque, salon de détente, etc. L école vous fournira, dans la mesure du possible et dès le premier jour, des informations pratiques sur votre ville d accueil. EN ÉCHANGE Vous vous adapterez aux coutumes et surtout aux traditions familiales, dans le respect et la discrétion. Être demi-pair exige non seulement de la responsabilité de votre part, mais aussi de la souplesse envers la vie familiale. Votre travail consistera à seconder la mère de famille comme par exemple la garde d enfants, la préparation de repas simples, le repassage du linge, le rangement des pièces, les accompagnements à l école et aux activités et loisirs, la vérification des devoirs, etc... Cette liste est non exhaustive et peut varier en fonction de l âge des enfants et les besoins spécifiques de votre famille. VOTRE FUTUR SÉJOUR DANS UN PAYS ÉTRANGER Votre famille s engage à vous aider et à vous encadrer surtout à votre arrivée dans son pays. Voici les engagements que vous allez devoir tenir : après confirmation du placement, rester en contact avec la famille d accueil et l informer des modalités de votre voyage, régler les formalités administratives (passeport, obtention du visa si nécessaire, etc ), souscrire à une assurance médicale valable dans le pays d accueil. 5 faire les efforts nécessaires pour connaître la culture du pays choisi et pour en apprendre la langue, à respecter les différences et à vous montrer tolérante, payer vos communications téléphoniques locales ou non, régler les frais en cas d imprévu et prévoir de l argent pour vos besoins personnels. VOTRE FUTUR SÉJOUR EN FAMILLE D ACCUEIL La maîtresse de maison s engage à vous accueillir comme un membre de sa famille. Vous devez aussi vous engager à vous conduire comme une grande sœur. Votre famille a des règles de vie qu il vous faut respecter. Soyez discrète en ce qui concerne les facilités de la maison. Prenez des initiatives. Prévenez la famille si des amis vous rendent visite ou si vous sortez Il vous est interdit de fumer et de consommer de l alcool dans la maison et / ou en présence des enfants. Il est préférable de ne pas abuser du téléphone de la maison pour envoyer ou recevoir des appels. Tenez votre chambre propre et aérée. Rendez service même en dehors de vos horaires de travail (aidez à mettre la table, aidez à servir le plat, débarrassez, laissez la cuisine propre après votre passage ). Prévenez votre famille si vous ne prenez pas votre repas avec elle ou si vous êtes en retard pour le repas familial. Soyez très discrète : ne rentrez jamais dans la chambre des parents. Si vous décidez de quitter votre famille en cas de conflit ou de mal-être, vous devez contacter au plus vite notre correspondant sur place ainsi que l Association FÉE RÊVÉE. Nous vous aiderons à chercher une autre famille ou à revenir en France. Néanmoins, un préavis de 2 semaines minimum est exigé. Pendant cette période, vous continuerez à exécuter vos tâches correctement. En contrepartie, vous serez nourrie et logée. VOS RAPPORTS AVEC LES ENFANTS Votre famille s engage naturellement à tout faire pour que les liens se tissent rapidement entre les enfants et vous. Cependant : Vous devez assumer toutes les responsabilités vis-à-vis des enfants que vous gardez. Ne les laissez jamais seuls et ayez toujours un œil sur eux. Ne les laissez pas en situation de danger. Ne les battez pas. Réglez les conflits uniquement avec l accord des parents. Surtout, la famille d accueil vous confie ses enfants et sa maison. Sachez veiller sur chacun d eux comme s ils étaient les vôtres. Enfin, une fois sur place, posez des questions à votre famille d accueil et expliquez vos soucis. 10 Access Language Centre DEMI PAIR PROGRAM Terms & Conditions A) Demi Pair Application I confirm that I have answered all questions honestly and that all information in the application, resume, introduction letter and references is true and correct. I shall notify Access Language Centre immediately if there are any changes to the information included in my application. I understand that if my level of English proves to be different from the results of the entry test, I will not be accepted into the program or I may be asked to undertake additional English lessons at my own expense and also pay for additional accommodation until my English level is suitable for the Demi Pair Program. I will familiarise myself with all Demi Pair Program guidelines and conditions, in particular those regarding the number and distribution of working hours, duties, pocket money, free time, holidays, language course, transportation costs, insurance and the termination of my Demi Pair Program with the family. If Access Language Centre receives my full application at least THREE (3) MONTHS prior to my arrival, Access Language Centre will be responsible for additional homestay costs (but not student living expenses) after the first two weeks until a Demi Pair family is confirmed. If Access Language Centre receives my full application less than THREE (3) MONTHS prior to my arrival, I understand that I will have to pay for homestay or alternative accommodation until a Demi Pair family is confirmed. 11 2 I understand that Access Language Centre is responsible for one (1) Demi Pair family placement, and I also understand that if a placement ends prematurely, the $300 placement fee will not be refunded. I understand that I have to pay for two weeks of homestay ($560 homestay deposit) as part of my program. This will be refunded two weeks after arrival if not used. I understand that I must pay all travelling costs to and from the homestay, including from the homestay family to the Demi Pair family. I agree to pay a $300 goodwill bond, which will be refunded to me at the completion of the program, provided I have not breached any of the conditions set out in this document. I agree to pay this bond before my arrival in Australia as part of my application. Signature: C) Living With Your Demi Pair Family I agree to abide by all the house rules set out by the Demi Pair family (ie. use of telephone and Internet facilities, daytime or overnight visitors, curfew, smoking etc.). During my stay, I shall behave in a manner which does not reflect badly upon my Demi Pair family, Access Language Centre and my home country. I shall carry out all childcare and light house keeping duties with diligence. In addition, I agree to keep my room and bathroom clean and neat and to make a fair contribution to the cleanliness of the common areas of my family s home (ie. kitchen, lounge room etc.). I shall seek the advice of the Demi Pair family before administering any form of discipline to the children. Under no circumstances shall I hit or smack the children, yell or communicate inappropriately, leave them unsupervised or leave them in a car. I understand that I must familiarise myself with water safety and traffic rules and that special care must be taken around these areas (ie. holding the children s hands when crossing the road, always remaining in sight of the children around water etc.). I shall seek advice and written permission from the Demi Pair family before administering any medication to the children. 12 3 I agree to cover all costs and any debts incurred by me while staying with the family (ie. telephone bills, car bills or internet bills etc). I agree to pay the debts immediately otherwise the money can be deducted from my weekly pocket money until paid off. I shall discuss with my Demi Pair family and Demi Pair Coordinator any arrangements for holidays or additional days off at least four (4) weeks in advance, and I shall not apply for holidays from school without the family and Demi Pair Coordinator s approval. I will keep all information related to my Demi Pair family confidential while I am living with them as well as after I have finished my stay. I will not discuss any personal details or issues with other students. I will not post any information about the family on any public forum (like Facebook, Twitter, personal blogs etc.). I shall familiarise myself with and adhere to the terms and conditions laid out by my visa. I understand that Access Language Centre will not be liable or responsible for any loss, damage or harm occasioned by me as a result of any act, omission, statement or representation. I also agree that I will not hold Access Language Centre responsible for any claims as a result of any such act, omission, statement or representation made by any person arising out of my Demi Pair Program with the family. I understand that Access Language centre and its staff cannot be held liable for accidents or loss while I am in Demi Pair Accommodation. Signature: D) Leaving Your Demi Pair Family During The Program I shall contact Access Language Centre for assistance if I have any problems or questions, which cannot be discussed and resolved with the Demi Pair family. If no solution can be reached and I decide to leave the Demi Pair family, I agree to give the family reasonable notice and make myself available until the time it takes them to make alternative childcare arrangements. During this period, I shall perform my duties as per the Demi Pair Program Terms & Conditions. If I am asked to leave by the family, I understand that Access Language Centre will assist me in making alternative arrangements if needed. I also understand that I will be responsible for my own alternative living and accommodation costs. If I request to be placed with a new Demi Pair family, I understand that I must pay another placement fee ($300). I understand this may take some time to organise and any placement is subject to the availability of Demi Pair families. 13 4 the placement of the second Demi Pair family. I also understand that I am responsible for all transfer costs incurred. I understand that I will not be asked to pay a new placement fee or provide notice of leave in the event that I decide to leave the family due to an unlawful or criminal action on the part of any member of the Demi Pair family. I understand that I shall bring emergency funds with me to cover any additional accommodation and living costs. Signature: E) Program End I understand that the Demi Pair Program is offered by Access Language Centre and is only available in conjunction with an English course. Therefore, an extended stay with my family may not be arranged without an extension of my English course at Access Language Centre. I understand that the $300 Demi Pair bond will be held if I decide to stay in the family without an extension of my English course at Access Language Centre. I understand that I shall be expelled from the program if: I fail to abide by this agreement and to be a willing applicant for the Demi Pair Family interview. I falsify any information in my application (ie. regarding smoking, childcare experience, health etc.) I begin my stay before receiving any official confirmation of placement from Access Language Centre or a valid visa. Students should be given 60 minutes to complete the test under examination conditions. This means the student should be given a quiet workspace in which to take the test. 20 TERMS AND CONDITIONS REFUND POLICY All bookings, cancellations, withdrawals or changes should be submitted in writing at least 2 weeks in advance and must be confirmed by LSI. Enrolment fees, accommodation placement fees and airport transfer charges are nonrefundable. If your visa application is rejected, tuition fees, accommodation and airport transfer charges (if any) will be refunded in full provided written proof is provided within 2 weeks of the notice. Requests for refunds must be made in writing within 2 weeks of the default date, giving full details of the reason for the refund request. Refunds will be paid within four weeks of the receipt of the written request if the student defaults. Refunds will be paid to the person who has entered into the contract with the provider and will be paid in the same currency as originally paid. If refunds are paid in your country, a transfer fee of AU$75 will be charged. An Administration Fee of AU$350 will be deducted from any refunds. Tuition fees will not be refunded after you have started the course, and there will be no refund when you change from one course to a course with fewer hours. No refund is given if you withdraw voluntarily or are dismissed from the program for unsatisfactory attendance or behaviour, or if you are in breach of Australian Government regulations or the LSI Code of Conduct. Deferring, Suspending or Cancelling LSI Brisbane defers an enrolment at the student s request where this is received before the student commences the course. Once a student has commenced a course, it is only deferred where there are compassionate and compelling circumstances (e.g. serious health conditions or serious family problems, both of which require evidence). LSI Brisbane will suspend or cancel an enrolment where the student is in breach of the LSI Brisbane Code of Conduct. In the unlikely event that LSI Brisbane is unable to deliver your course in full, you will be offered a refund of all the course money you have paid to date. The refund will be paid to you within two weeks of the day on which the course ceased being provided. Alternatively, you may be offered enrolment in an alternative course at no extra cost to you. You have the right to choose whether you would prefer a full refund of course fees, or to accept a place in another course. If you choose placement in another course, we will ask you to sign a document to indicate that you accept the placement. If LSI Brisbane is unable to provide a refund or place you in an alternative course our Tuition Assurance Scheme will place you in a suitable alternative course at no extra cost to you. Finally, if our Tuition Assurance Scheme cannot place you in a suitable alternative course, the ESOS Assurance Fund Manager will attempt to place you in a suitable alternative course, or if this is not possible, you will be eligible for a refund as calculated by the fund Manager. This agreement, and the availability of complaints and appeals processes, does not remove the right to take further action under Australia s consumer protection laws. 2. DISPUTE RESOLUTION Language Studies International is confident that we can resolve any difficulties, as we want you to feel satisfied with your course. If you are not happy about any part of your course at LSI Brisbane, please tell us. If you are still not satisfied after you have spoken to the Principal, LSI Brisbane will make arrangements for independent mediation to resolve the dispute as quickly as possible. If you are concerned about the actions of LSI Brisbane you may approach the State Registration Authority for CRICOS, the Department of Education, Training and the Arts (DETA). OVERSEAS STUDENT HEALTH COVER All students who travel on a Student Visa are required by the Australian Government to be covered by Overseas Student Health Cover. This cost is included in your invoice and is subject to change. OSHC currently costs $41.50 per month for the duration of your Student Visa. 4. COST OF LIVING LSI Brisbane is located in the centre of Brisbane. You should allow about AUD$385 per week to cover homestay half board, lunches and transport fares to and from school Monday to Friday, and a small amount for personal spending. This recommended amount does not include any entertainment. Check for information about studying and living in Australia. Any school-aged dependants accompanying students to Australia will be required to pay full fees if they are enrolled in either a government or non-government school. 5. TYPES OF VISA A Visitor Visa enables you to study for a maximum of 12 weeks; a Working Holiday Visa enables you to study for a maximum of 17 weeks. If you want to study for longer than 12 weeks and you are not eligible for a Working Holiday Visa, you must travel on a Student Visa, study full-time and pay the compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). ACCOMMODATION If you book accommodation, you are welcome to arrive at your homestay family on the Sunday prior the course starting date and your accommodation will be provided until the Saturday after the course finishes. Students under 18 are required, by law, to stay with a host family. 7. DEMI PAIR CONDITIONS In extreme cases where the student s welfare and safety is at risk because of the placement LSI will organise a new family or temporary accommodation until a new family is available. If the demi pair decides to leave the program early, the participant must submit the cancellation in writing and sign appropriate documentation providing at least 2 weeks notice. In case of a voluntary withdrawal from the program, the participant is required to pay all further accommodation and all expenses and is not entitled to any refund by LSI. 8. MINIMUM AGE The minimum age of acceptance for the demi-pair program is 18 years. 9. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE We recommend that all students travelling abroad take out comprehensive travel, accident and medical insurance in their own countries. LSI, its representatives and staff will not be liable for any loss, damages, illness or injuries to people or property however these may occur unless such liability is legally imposed. It is the student s responsibility to take out insurance against all such risks. 10. PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITY Students and their parents/guardians agree that the student s photo, quotes and details of achievements may be used for LSI s promotional purposes without written consent or notification. Objections to this should be made in writing to LSI before the start of the course. 11. PERSONAL INFORMATION Information is collected on this form and during your enrolment in order to meet LSI Brisbane s obligations under the ESOS Act and The National Code 2007, to ensure student compliance with visa conditions and obligations under Australian immigration laws. Information may be shared with the Australian Government, designated authorities, the Tuition Assurance Scheme and the ESOS Assurance Fund Manager. This information includes personal and contact details, course enrolment details and charges, and the circumstance of any suspected breach by the student of a student visa condition. In other instances information collected on this form and during your enrolment can be disclosed without your consent where authorised or required by law. 12. CODE OF CONDUCT Students are expected to speak English at all times while at LSI Brisbane. All students are expected to behave in a polite and cooperative manner at all times, and consider the needs of other students. Students are expected to be on time for lessons. If students arrive more than 10 minutes late, the teacher reserves the right to ask the student to wait until the start of the next activity or lesson. Work that was covered at the start of the lesson will not be repeated. Teachers use their professional judgement to select resources and tasks for each class. Any questions about activities or tasks should be asked during the breaks, when the teacher has time to speak to students. If students talk or disrupt the class during a progressive assessment test or a practice exam, their test papers will not be marked.
