Caution Notations CAUTION Equipment damage, or loss of data may occur if the user does not follow procedure as specified. Prerequisites If using an external transformer, it must be installed in a metal enclosure. To maintain agency ratings, run cables for power and digital outputs to and from the Raptor in metal conduit. 2 Page 2 of 7 Installing the Enclosure CAUTION Do not mount the enclosure on vibrating surfaces. Under no circumstances should the enclosure be mounted on ductwork, on HVAC equipment, within 5 ft. (1.5 m) of variable frequency drives, or within 5 ft. (1.5 m) of power sources greater than 100 kva. Follow all safety regulations and local codes when installing this equipment. Determine the mounting location of the enclosure using the spacing and clearance requirements as illustrated. IMPORTANT: Dashed lines shown surrounding the enclosure represent the enclosure door, which is shipped and installed separately. Illustrated clearance dimensions are based on the size of the door, which is larger than the enclosure. Adequate clearances must be provided so that the door can be hung as well as opened and closed. 3 Page 3 of 7 Draw a line on the wall 6 feet (1.8 m) above the floor where the enclosure is to be mounted. Align the top of the enclosure to the line on the wall. Use a level to position the enclosure. Then, mark the positions of the four mounting holes on the wall surface. Tracer un trait sur le mur à 1,8 m du sol à l endroit où le coffret doit être monté. Drill through the wall at the marked locations. Use the appropriate fasteners to mount the enclosure. Percer le mur aux endroits indiqués. Utiliser les attaches appropriées pour installer le coffret. If the enclosure: Includes a service box, continue with the Service Box Connections instructions on the following page. Does not include a service box, remove knockouts as required. Run conduit into the panel at the appropriate knockouts. On the conduit connector, orient the set screw to the side rather than the front. This will ensure that the door will open and close properly when installed.

Pull the following wiring into the enclosure observing local electrical codes: 24 Vac power wiring from an external transformer. Communication and I/O wiring (Class 2). Utiliser un tournevis Phillips pour enlever les vis sur le dessus du boîtier de connexion. Carefully open the top of the service box so that the wires inside remain connected. Then, remove knockouts from the enclosure as required. You will need to remove the top center knockout to run power to the Raptor. * If the service box includes an outlet, do not remove the knockout at the top of the enclosure that is positioned second from the left. 6 Page 6 of 7 Run conduit into the panel at the appropriate knockouts. On the conduit connector, orient the set screw to the side rather than the front. This will ensure that the door will open and close properly when installed. Amener la gaine dans le coffret par les empreintes appropriées. Pull the wiring through the knockouts observing local electrical codes. Pull the I/O wiring (Class 2) and other communication wiring. Be sure to leave enough wire for future changes or additions. 7 Page 7 of 7 Pull the 115 Vac or 230 Vac power wiring through the top center knockout. Then attach the ground, line, and neutral wiring to the AC terminal block as illustrated. NOTE: The service box illustrated to the right is shown without an outlet. When present, the outlet is pre-wired. No additional field wiring is required for the outlet.
