MAST OFF, STANCHIONS AND LIFELINES OFF STORAGE SYSTEM COVERS FROM BOW TO STERN Take note that assembly instructions for the NAVIGLOO 23-28½ ft SAILBOAT system will be basically the same as for the NAVIGLOO 23½- 25½ ft CUDDY CIN system to which you should refer for assembly of the sailboat system (with a few slight adjustments). Found below is a summary of the adjustments needed to assemble the NAVIGLOO ½ft SAILBOAT system. YOU MUST REPOSITION THE 4 BASES PROPERLY VOUS DEVEZ REPOSITIONNER L EMPLACEMENT DES 4 BASES The bases must be positioned as indicated in the illustration below; they must not be positioned at the bow and stern of the watercraft (as indicated in the assembly instructions for the NAVIGLOO CUDDY CIN system). Be sure to place a swatch of carpet and a piece of plywood under each vertical support to adequately protect the watercraft s fibreglass hull. 4 YOU MUST ADD 1 VERTICAL SUPPORT POST WITH 2 STRAPS VOUS DEVEZ AOUTER 1 POTEAU DE SOUTIEN VERTICAL AVEC 2 SANGLES As in steps 8 and 9, add one (1) additional vertical support with two (2) straps. Listed below are the parts that you ll need for this additional vertical support. Aux étapes 8 et 9, vous devrez ajouter un (1) poteau de soutien vertical avec deux (2) sangles. STEP 8 / ÉTAPE 8 (p.11) + 1 X + 1 X + 1 X C + 1 X D + 1 X STEP 9 / ÉTAPE 9 (p.13) + 2 X G G2 When adjustments have been executed, there should be a total of 6 vertical support posts distributed along the length of the sailboat: 4 vertical supports WITH BASES + 2 vertical supports WITHOUT BASES (positioned at bow and stern of sailboat) Refer to the illustration below for assembly of 6 vertical support posts. 8 1 14 X G G2 14 X G2 To ensure proper assembly of straps: Thread G2 through the clip at the end of from the bottom as shown, then pull hard from both ends. G2 should not slip; if it does, remove G2, turn the clip at the end of over so that the teeth of the clip are facing upward, then thread G2 though the clip from the bottom again. Test resistance by pulling strap from both ends. G2 WARNING As you pull on both ends of the strap, make sure that G2 does not slip! If it does, remove G2, turn the clip at the end of over so that the teeth of the clip are facing upward, then thread G2 through the clip from the bottom again. We recommend using extra protective measures for fragile surfaces that may come in contact with the bases. For example: place a swatch of carpet and a piece of plywood under the bases to protect the watercraft s upholstery. 1. Installez une base (D) à chacune des extrémités de l embarcation. 2. Nous recommandons de protéger toute surface fragile qui sera en contact avec les bases. Insert the 2 VERTICAL SUPPORTS POSTS into bases (+D and/or - A+D) at each extremity of the watercraft in areas appropriate to its particular configuration. The +A vertical support posts require a height of 100 inches. It is preferable to maintain this height to insure strength of the frame. Secure vertical support posts at appropriate height with metal pins () using level to ensure they are perpendicular to horizontal support. Be sure to keep a minimum 6 inch overlap of A and B sections of posts. 2. Be sure to remove insert from base (D) before installing vertical support post requiring - A+D assembly. 1. 11 4 8 X G G2 RECOMMENDATIONS / RECOMMANDATIONS 1. Carabiners () of the straps must ONLY be installed on the C- CLIPS (C) of the vertical support posts. 2. For proper vertical post stability, ensure that the 4 straps are positioned in opposite directions from each other. 3. We recommend the use of adequate protection for all fragile surfaces that may come into contact with the straps. 1. 12 5 RECOMMENDATIONS / RECOMMANDATIONS 1. Ensure good resistance when pulling on strap from both extremities (part and removable part G2). (see Step 1) 2. Adjust tension in such a way as to be uniform on all sides of post. 3. Ensure that gates on the carabiners are properly closed. 1. Horizontal support beam must be at a height providing adequate clearance above cabin to allow lateral connectors, once installed, to create a pitch of approximately 50 degrees. It is preferable to maintain this angle to have the best slope possible allowing the snow to slide off. 2. Foam protectors (H) must rest on the edge of the watercraft overhanging the edge by about 3 inches. 1.
