2 Information sur le projet Formation en innovation, entrepreneuriat et conception pour l'industrie des chaussures Titre: Formation en innovation, entrepreneuriat et conception pour l'industrie des chaussures Code Projet: Année: 2011 Type de Projet: Statut: Accroche marketing: PT1-LEO Projets de transfert d'innovation Accordé PT-Portugal Le projet prévoit: 1) étendre le concept du centre de formation virtuel en une communauté de pratique qui permet aux entreprises de chaussures et à ses professionnels de partager leurs expériences et de présenter une approche commune à la concurrence non-européenne; 2) intégrer de nouveaux modules (innovation, internationalisation, entrepreneuriat et nouveaux outils de conception) à la VTC qui traitent de la nécessité pour l'innovation et l'internationalisation; 3) proposer un cadre commun pour la conformité des modules d'apprentissage en ligne dans le cadre d'ecvet; 4) le transfert des innovations existant dans d'autres pays où le secteur de la chaussure est fort ou est en développement; Résumé: The Footwear Industry in Europe changed in the last decade. Faced with the Far East competition (based on intensive, low-cost, unskilled manpower) there has been a downsizing of the industry which represents now less than half of the global production 10 years ago. The only way to survive is to ensure that the European Footwear Industry focuses on high-quality, high-end products with design and strong added value. That requires a highly-skilled, trained and motivated workforce. The previous VTC-Shoe project created a Virtual Training Centre to: 1) Setup a functional training center, with high quality training materials, to train and share best practice in footwear design; 2) Improve and upgrade competences and skills of the VET colleges and training schools; 3) Extend the common educational qualifications of footwear professionals in particular in the design area and the accreditation of the skills and knowledge of those professionals. This tool was tested and applied with success in several countries like Romania, Turkey and Greece. The curriculum and the content include theoretical knowledge and practical skills and are divided in four parts: Foot; Footwear; Measurements and Tools; Design and Pattern Making. Trainees also have the opportunity to use this educational software to solve specific problems, for example to design a new footwear product as development of classic constructive types. The TIED Shoe project plans to extend the VTC-shoe project in three complementary ways: 1) by transferring the innovation of the project training approach to other countries, namely Portugal, Spain and Croatia; 2) by incorporating new modules (Innovation, Internationalization, Entrepreneurship and New Design Tools) that address the need for Innovation and Internationalization; 3) by extending the concept of the VTC into a Community of Practice that allows footwear companies, stakeholders and professionals to share experience and present a common approach to non-european competition 4) by integrating ECVET as a qualification framework. In this way it will be possible to contribute to the development of the footwear industry in these countries, making it more innovative, more advanced and more profitable. The consortium is multidisciplinary and covers the most important expertise required for the project: footwear knowledge, training skills and ICT expertise. It gathers partners from countries where footwear is a major industry and where there is expertise in high quality production. New contents will be developed in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, Greek and Croatian to increase the opportunity for exploitation and replication all over Europe. It is expected that the TIED Shoe project will reach about 200 footwear industries and staff during the project scope. This number will be tripled in the two years after the project end. 2

ICT-related skills in the shoe design area are also vital for the competitiveness of the footwear sector and for increase job opportunities and employment. The TIED Shoe is clearly addressing the need to promote the acquisition of key competencies in VET but is also developing activities to promote the use and conformity to ECVET for transparency and recognition of learning outcomes and qualifications. New contents will be created, using the same pedagogical approach and new functionalities will be used to extend the VTC concept into a Virtual Community of Practice (VCP). New facilities that correspond to this new philosophy of personal improvement are: - Added forms on online communication (forums, chat, etc.) and sharing of information - Social interaction through online networks - More interactive training software with simulations, animations, video and peer training and support. The project will add new components for increased collaboration and immersive learning. In terms of dimension the number of modules will double from the existing ones, and they will cover other important aspects like: Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Internationalization and New Design Tools. New contents will be developed in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, Greek and Croatian to increase the opportunity for exploitation and replication all over Europe. Other industry staff will be able to join and profit from the VCP. The project will also add a layer of certification to ensure common recognition of qualifications across Europe. The project will have an extended approach to dissemination to ensure wide information about the project results. It will use means, like networks, new internet media tools (google adwords, social network tools like linkedin) and large scale events. Page Web du projet: 3
