A cette date, nous étions les pionniers, en imaginant une conférence et une exposition présentant les innovations dans le domaine des implants et des biomatériaux dans un lieu de rencontres dédié aux chirurgiens, aux sociétés orthopédiques, aux soustraitants et aux laboratoires de recherche en pointe de l innovation. Depuis cette date, les marchés de certains implants comme la hanche et le genou connaissent une maturité dans les pays développés et cherchent donc des relais de croissance, et au niveau de nouveaux implants comme les extrémités ou les biomatériaux et au niveau géographique, dans les pays BRICS et les pays en voie de développement. La pression sur les prix dans les pays développés et le poids de la réglementation poussent d avantage les acteurs à innover en termes de produits, conquérir de nouveaux marchés géographiques et étendre les services rendus aux hôpitaux et aux cliniques. L innovation est, plus que jamais, la clé du développement des sociétés : Innovation des techniques chirurgicales, du design des produits, des procédés de fabrication, des matériaux et des revêtements, etc. La conférence de cette année détaillera la plupart de ces enjeux : La chirurgie de la hanche par voie antérieure, la double mobilité, la fabrication additive, de nombreux travaux sur les couples frottement et matériaux, les innovations dans les revêtements de surface et procédés de fabrication. La pression de la réglementation et les tendances des politiques de remboursement seront exposées. At that time, we were the pioneer creators of an event presenting innovations in implants and biomaterials that would gather professionals from the whole orthopedics implants industry under one roof. Since then, certain markets such as hip and knee implants have entered the maturity stage of their product life cycle in developed countries. Therefore companies are seeking new sources of growth, developing new products or new materials such as extremities and orthobiologics or entering new geographic markets in the BRICS and the emerging economies. Pressure on prices in the developed countries and the growing constraints of regulations oblige the players on the market to innovate in terms of products and expand into new geographic markets and offer a wider variety of services to hospitals and clinics.
