L immersion professionnelle constitue surtout une solide expérience, avant même d entrer dans la vie active. Sélectionnés par Vatel, les stages ont lieu dans des établissements 3 à 5 étoiles et contribuent à la progression des acquis tout au long du cursus. Internships building momentum Even first year students are entitled to do practical work in our application structures, thus already having experience in the workforce. Internships allow them to apply their know-how and hospitality skills they have learned, to have a true experience of working as part of a team, and to try and test several professional environments. Professional immersion equals solid work experience, even before students are actually looking for their first job. Carefully selected by Vatel, these internships take place in 3 to 5 star hotels, and build strength and momentum throughout the entire School program. 8 08 LE CURSUS/CURRICULUM Choisissez une formation axée sur le savoir, le savoir-faire et le savoir-être, un cursus souple et ouvert Give preference to training based on knowledge, know-how, essential life skills, with an open and flexible curriculum S initier au management en associant toujours théorie et expérience professionnelle Le cursus Vatel, construit sur 5 ans, prépare crescendo l étudiant au management. 1 re année : il fait connaissance avec le marketing, les ressources humaines, la gestion, la culture professionnelle et s aguerrit, au sein de l école, à la restauration, aux techniques de production culinaire, aux contraintes des banquets, aux imprévus de la réception 2 e année : tout en poursuivant ses acquis théoriques par l introduction des matières telles que le Droit des Affaires et l Economie touristique, l étudiant prend contact avec le management. En situation pratique, il encadre les étudiants de 1 re année sous la responsabilité des étudiants de 3 e année. Il prend de l assurance et conscience de la hiérarchie. 3 e année : l étudiant qui a acquis les connaissances juridiques, économiques, linguistiques est mis en situation de manager des équipes au sein de l école. Il développe au cours de cette année ses capacités d analyse, fait appel à tout ses savoirs, conçoit des stratégies et prend ses premières décisions. Se perfectionner en cultivant esprit d analyse, recherche et créativité 4 e année : les bases sont fixées, la culture professionnelle acquise, l étudiant peut donc entièrement se consacrer aux méthodes d analyse et de décision de la pratique du management. 5 e année : l étude des grandes règles stratégiques, de leur application concrète dans les grandes entreprises tous secteurs confondus amène l étudiant à définir des cas concrets d application au management dans l industrie touristique et hôtelière. Le Vatel International Business Game, simulation virtuelle au management Se distinguant par sa conception innovante et sa parfaite adaptation au monde hôtelier, le Vatel International Business Game met en compétition les étudiants de 5 e année de toutes les écoles Vatel. Chaque équipe gère trois sociétés appartenant à un même groupe : Vatel Holding, Vatel City et Vatel Resort. En simulation réelle, les étudiants doivent prendre des décisions commerciales, financières, techniques et humaines. Le jeu terminé, la meilleure équipe est celle qui a su prendre les meilleures décisions stratégiques et qui a accumulé le plus grand nombre de points. This year is aimed at developing analytical capacities using the wealth of knowledge gained, devising strategies and the decision-making process. Continuous improvement while using an analytical spirit, research and creativity 4 th year: Students now have all the basics, a professional culture, and are ready to devote themselves to analytical methods and the managerial decision-making process. 5 th year: Acquiring knowledge about strategic decisions and practical case studies in all different kinds of companies help students know how to apply this knowledge concretely to management in the hospitality and tourism industries. The Vatel International Business Game, a virtual management simulation tool Rising high above other tools thanks to its innovative design and its perfect simulation of real-life situations in the hospitality industry, the Vatel International Business Game includes all 5 th year Vatel students. Each team is responsible for managing three companies which belong to the same group: Vatel Holding, Vatel City and Vatel Resort. Students, in real time, must take commercial, financial, technical and personnel based decisions. When the game is over, the winning team, called the Vatel Dream Team of the Year, is the one which was able to make the best strategical choices, thus accumulating the most points. And what do students have to say about this? The Vatel International Business Game allowed us to complete our training with a real time management simulation tool, bringing together an international competition, teamwork, negotiations, and decision-making - Hicham Bouayad, Nimes, Vatel International Business Game is about strategy from the very beginning to the end! We put together our team based more on our skills in management, sales and English than by the affinities we had - Alexandra Bottolier Curtet, Lyon CirVath, a research center promoting creativity and innovation Professionals currently working in the international hospitality industry want to hire newly graduated students who have a large capacity for innovation. This is the reason why Vatel created a research center called CirVath (Vatel International Research Center in Tourism and Hospitality) promoting the science of tourism based on research and creation. The aim of the group is to work on applied research themes, to bring in fresh ideas, to find solutions to current issues. Since 2003, CirVath has been managing its own scientific publications and organizing workshops and seminars. Research work is carried out by Vatel professors and researchers, by those in partner universities and by some of our students and professionals.

Il donne toutefois la possibilité à l étudiant qui le souhaite d entrer dans la vie active à l issue d un Bac+3 avec un titre d Etat qui certifie qu il a acquis les connaissances spécifiques à la profession et qu il s est déjà construit une solide expérience professionnelle. Les postes occupés à l issue de ce 1 er cycle sont Contrôleur Qualité, Contrôleur d Exploitation... A l issue du 2 e cycle, le Vatélien peut envisager, après une période probatoire de 1 à 2 ans, une carrière de Directeur Ressources Humaines, Directeur financier, Directeur Marketing. Il est à noter que le cursus Vatel est accessible aux étudiants à niveau Bac+2, issus d autres filières. Ils doivent cependant, via la classe Prépa, acquérir l expérience terrain et le management opérationnel des secteurs de l hôtellerie et du tourisme. The Vatel curriculum is a 5 year program. However students who want to join the workforce after only three years with a French State Degree certifying that they have received specific profession-based knowledge and already have had professional experience are able to do so. Some of the jobs these 1st cycle students have are in Quality Control, Hotel Administration, etc. At the end of the 2 nd cycle, Vatel students find themselves working in jobs, after a 1 to 2 year trial period, such as Human Resources Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Marketing Manager, etc. The Vatel Curriculum is open to those holding an undergraduate degree in any major. The Foundation Year allows all students to obtain practical experience as well as operational management experience in the hospitality and international tourism sectors. Les titres Vatel sont inscrits au Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles par arrêté ministériel du 5 avril Certified State degrees with Vatel Both Vatel under-graduate and post-graduate cycles have a degree recognized by the National Repertory of Professional Certifications in Europe.
