Then, tape them together according to the labels inside the markings (Eg.A4 with A4, C5 with C5 ). The pattern board is then ready to use seam allowances are already built-in. 2 SEWING Notes: Unless stated otherwise, stitch at 12mm (½") from the edge and match the notches with the same numbers. For bold topstitching, thread the needle with a topstitch thread and the bobbin with all-purpose thread. 4- Assemble the front trousers together at the crotch below notch 2 and clip the seam allowance in the lower left side of the opening. Then, edge-finish the openings separately and the seam allowances in the lower section of the crotch together. Steps: Unless stated otherwise, stitch right side together, which means placing the right side of a piece against the right side of another one the right side being the side showing when the garment is worn. 1- Edge-finish the fly facing and stitch it to the left front trousers, from the waist down to notch 2. Under stitch along the seam on the fly facing. Then, place the zipper face down to the facing so that the top stoppers are 15mm (⅝") below the top edges and the teeth at 10mm (⅜") from the seam. Install the zipper foot and stitch close to the zipper teeth. 1- Edge-finish the pocket yokes along the curved edge with an overlocker/serger or stitch on the fabric edge with a zigzag stitch to keep fabric from fraying. Then, tack the yokes against the pocket backings (notch 1). 2- Stitch the pocket backings to the facings by making a French seam. To do so, stitch the bottom edges together at 6mm (¼"), wrong sides together, and trim down the allowance to make it about 3mm (⅛") wide. Then, turn the pockets inside out, press the bottom curved edge and topstitch at 10mm (⅜"). 5- Fold the facing under the front panels and tack it temporarily to the left side with long stitches, by following the facing shape. Then, topstitch a straight line, using the long stitches as guides and stop before the curved section of stitches. Do not back stitch. 6- Fold the fly under tab lengthwise, right side in, and stitch the bottom curved edges at 6mm (¼"). Turn the tab inside out and press flat. Edge-finish the centre front edges together. 3- Stay-stitch the front pocket openings on the facings and front trousers. To do so, stitch inside the seam allowances, close to the stitching line. Then, assemble the pockets to the front trousers (seam 1) and trim the seam allowances. Under stitch the pocket openings. To do so, stitch close to the seams, on the facings only, so as the stitches are not visible from the outside. Fold the pockets under the front panels and topstitch the openings. 7- Place the under tab under the zip and align the centre front edges with the remaining side of the zipper, so that the top stoppers are 15mm (⅝") below the top edge and the teeth are 12mm (½") from the centre front edges. Tack the zipper to the under tab. 8- Fold in and press the right side opening at 6mm (¼"). 3 tab. Then, stitch close to the folded edge to close the fly. Strengthen this seam by stitching it twice. the seams down. Then, topstitch below the yoke seams. 14- Stitch the back panels together at the crotch, edgefinish the seam allowances together and topstitch close to the seam, on the right side panel. 9- Resume the straight topstitch (step 6) by making a curve that will end at the bottom of the fly opening. Then, remove the long stitches made previously. 15- Assemble the front and back trousers at the inseams (seam 5), notch the seam allowances in the hem fold line (25mm-1" from the edge) and press the seams within the hem allowance open. Edge-finish the remaining seam allowances together and press them toward the back. Then, topstitch on the back of the trousers, close to the inseam. 10- Secure the bottom of the fly opening by making bar tacks. To do so, choose the zigzag stitch set at a very short length and narrow width. Then, stitch for about 10mm (⅜") over the topstitch end and again before the curve. Bar tacks can also be added on the front pockets opening, at 15mm (⅝") from the waist and side edges. 16- Assemble the front and back at the side seams (seam 6) and finish the seam allowances in the same manner used for the inseams (see step 16). 17- Topstitch close to the side seam, on the back side, from the waist down to the hip, (18cm-7" from the top edges). Do not end the topstitching with a back stitch; finish them with a bar tack. 11- Topstitch close to the lower section of the crotch, on the left side panel. 12- Make a hem on the back pockets by folding in the top edge twice at 12mm (½"). Fold in the remaining pocket edges, press and trim de seam allowances to an angle in the top corners. Then, pin the pockets against the back trousers, according to markings 3 and topstitch around the pockets. Optional: add bar tacks in the top corners (see step 11). 18- Stay-stitch all the waist band pieces along the top edges (see step 3). 19- Stitch the outer waist pieces together at the sides and press the seams open. Then, stitch the outer waist band to the trousers and press the seam allowances up. 13- Assemble the risers to the back trousers (seam 4), edge-finish the seam allowances together and press Style No.TR803 XS-XL.docx Copyright 2017 Kommatia Patterns Page 3

4 20- Edge-finish on one side of each belt loop pieces and fold in the raw edge at 12mm (½"). Then, fold over the finished side at 10mm (⅜") and press. Edgefinish the raw edges and topstitch close to the folded edges. Cut the pieces in three to get six even loops of 9cm (3 ½"). 25- Fold in and stitch the lower edge of the belt loops to the garment. Optional: a bar tack can be added on the top and bottom edges of the belt loops. 21- Tack the belt loops to the outer waist band: one pair over notches 8, which are found on the front waist, another pair on the back waist, at 25mm (1") from each side of the centre back and the last pair at 25mm (1") from each side seam. 22- Stitch the inner waist pieces together at the sides, press the seams open and fold in the lower edges. Then, stitch to the outer waist at the top edges only (seam 7). If needed, trim the seam allowances to remove bulk and press the seam open. 26- Make a buttonhole on the front left waist band and install the jeans button on the right waist band using the markings indicated on the pattern. 27- Make a hem at the bottom of each leg by turning the edge twice at 12mm (½"). Then, fold the inner waist back inside the garment; bring out the centre front corners and press. Then, pin the two waist band layers together. 24- Tack the two waist band layers together close to the lower edge. Then, remove the pins and proceed to topstitch all around the waist band. 6 CONFECTION Remarques : À moins d avis contraire, piquez à 12mm (½") du bord puis faites coïncider les crans ayant les mêmes numéros. Pour des surpiqûres accentuées, enfilez l aiguille avec le fil à surpiqûre et la canette avec le fil tout-usage. 4- Assemblez les panneaux avant ensemble, en partant au bas de la fourche jusqu au cran 2, puis entaillez le surplus du côté gauche au bas de l ouverture. Ensuite, surfilez les ouvertures séparément puis les surplus au bas de la fourche ensemble. Étapes : À moins d avis contraire, assemblez endroit contre endroit, c est-à-dire disposez l endroit d une pièce contre l endroit d une autre l endroit du tissu étant le côté visible du vêtement une fois fini. 5- Surfilez le parement de braguette puis assemblez-le au panneau avant gauche, de la taille jusqu au cran 2. Sous-piquez le parement le long de la couture. Ensuite, placez le fermoir métallique face cachée contre le parement, de sorte que l arrêt supérieur soit placé 15mm (⅝") sous le bord du tissu et les glissières à 10mm (⅜") de la couture. Installez le pied à fermoir et piquez près des glissières. 1- Surfilez les empiècements de poche le long de la courbe à la surjeteuse ou piquez sur le bord du tissu au zigzag afin d empêcher que celui-ci de s effilocher. Ensuite, appliquez les empiècements sur les fonds de poche (crans 1). 2- Piquez les fonds de poche aux parements en réalisant une couture française. Pour cela, piquez les bords inférieurs ensemble à 6mm (¼"), envers contre envers, puis réduisez les surplus. Ensuite, retournez à l endroit, repassez et repiquez le bord à 10mm (⅜"). 6- Rabattez le parement sous le panneau gauche et bâtissez-les ensemble en piquant à points longs en suivant le contour du parement. Utilisez ces points comme guide afin de réaliser une surpiqûre droite puis terminez, sans crans d arrêt avant la courbe. 7- Pliez la sous-patte en longueur, l endroit à l intérieur, et piquez le bas à 6mm (¼"). Retournez à l endroit, repassez puis surfilez les surplus du centre devant. 3- Réalisez une piqûre de soutien aux des ouvertures de poche, situées sur les parements et panneaux avant. Pour cela, piquez à l intérieur du surplus, près de la ligne de couture. Ensuite, assemblez les parements au vêtement puis réduisez les surplus. Sous-piquez le long de la couture sur le parement seulement afin que les points ne soient pas visibles de l extérieur. Rabattez les poches sous les panneaux avant et surpiquez les ouvertures. 8- Placez la sous-patte sous le fermoir et alignez les surplus du centre devant avec le côté libre du fermoir, de sorte que l arrêt supérieur soit placé 15mm (⅝") sous le bord du tissu et les glissières soient à 10mm (⅜") de la couture. Attachez la souspatte en piquant le long du galon du fermoir. 9- Rentrez à 6mm (¼") le surplus droit de l ouverture puis épinglez-le à 3mm (⅛") des glissières, du côté attaché à la sous-patte. 7 couture en piquant par-dessus celle-ci une deuxième fois. repassez-les vers le bas. Surpiquez la couture sous l empiècement. 15- Assemblez les panneaux arrière ensemble à la fourche, surfilez les surplus ensemble et surpiquez près de la couture sur le côté droit. 10- Reprenez la surpiqûre faite précédemment (voir étape 6) en réalisant une courbe terminant sous l ouverture, puis décousez les points longs. 16- Assemblez le vêtement à l entrejambe (couture 5) et entaillez les surplus à la pliure des ourlets inférieurs (25mm -1"). Repassez les parties ouvertes à l intérieur des surplus d ourlet, surfilez le reste des surplus ensemble et repassez-les vers l arrière. Surpiquez près de la couture d entrejambe, sur l arrière du pantalon. 11- Réalisez des barrettes de renfort d environ 10mm (⅜") sur la braguette afin de la renforcer. Pour cela, sélectionnez un point zigzag serré et plutôt étroit. Ensuite, piquez au bas de l ouverture puis tout juste avant la courbe. Des barrettes de renfort peuvent également être ajoutées de chaque côté des ouvertures de poche, à 15mm (⅝") du bord du tissu. 17- Assemblez les latérales (couture 6) et arrangez les surplus comme à l entrejambe (voir étape 16). 18- Surpiquez les coutures latérales sur l arrière du pantalon, du bord supérieur jusqu à la hanche, située à environ 18cm (7") sous le bord supérieur. Terminez la surpiqûre avec une barrette de renfort. 12- Surpiquez la partie inférieure de la fourche, près de la couture, sur le panneau gauche. 13- Réalisez un ourlet sur les poches arrière en pliant le bord supérieur deux fois à 12mm (½"). Rentrez les bords restants, repassez et coupez les rentrés en angle dans les coins supérieurs. Ensuite, épinglez les poches sur les panneaux arrière (repères 3) puis surpiquez les poches. Optionnel : ajoutez des barrettes aux coins supérieurs (voir étape 11). 19- Réalisez des piqûres de soutien le long des bords supérieurs des pièces de la taille (voir étape 3). 20- Assemblez les pièces de la taille extérieure aux latérales et repassez les coutures ouvertes. Ensuite, assemblez la bande de taille au pantalon et repassez les surplus vers le haut. 14- Assemblez les empiècements arrière aux pantalons (couture 4), surfilez les surplus ensemble et Style No.TR803 XS-XL.docx Copyright 2017 Kommatia Patterns Page 7

8 21- Surfilez un côté sur chaque passant puis rentrez les bords non-finis à 12mm (½"). Repliez le bord fini pardessus à 10mm (⅜") puis repassez. Surpiquez près des bords pliés puis scindez les passant trois fois afin d avoir six passants de 9cm (3 ½"). 26- Rentrez le bas des passants et piquez-les au vêtement. Facultatif : ajoutez des barrettes de renfort en haut et en bas des passants. 22- Fixez les passants à la bande de taille extérieure : une paire par-dessus des crans 8, situés à la taille avant, une autre paire à la taille arrière, à 25mm (1") de chaque côté du centre dos puis la dernière paire à 25mm (1") des coutures latérales. 23- Piquez les pièces de taille intérieure aux latérales et repassez les coutures ouvertes. Rentrez les bords inférieurs, repassez et assemblez contre la taille extérieure, au bord supérieur (couture 7). Réduisez les surplus au besoin et repassez la couture ouverte. 27- Réalisez une boutonnière sur la bande de taille gauche et installez le bouton sur le côté droit, tel qu indiqué sur le patron. 28- Réalisez un ourlet au bas de chaque jambe en pliant le bord deux fois à 12mm (½"). Réduisez les surplus au besoin puis retourner la bande de taille à l endroit. Faites ressortir les coins et repassez. Ensuite, épinglez les deux épaisseurs de la taille ensemble. 25- Réalisez une couture à points longs sur la bande de taille, près du bord inférieur. Ensuite, enlevez toutes les épingles sur la bande de taille puis réalisez une surpiqûre tout autour de celle-ci. Décousez les points longs et repassez.
