6 What does TweetNEST do? TweetNEST allows the user to download 1, save and archive theirs, and others, Tweets. You do not have to follow a user to download and archive their Tweets. You only need to have an active Twitter account. Once the Tweets are archived or saved to the user s device, the user can: 1. Search selected users Tweets, by: Hash-tag Account user URL Label Keyword 2. Label Tweets Create and search your own labels 3. Filter selected users Tweets, by: Hash-tag Account user URL Label Keyword 4. Print/Save/Publish filtered Tweets as: Text file CSV file 5. Link to directly text analysis websites 6. ReTweet selected Tweets in the users preferred App 1 Currently, it is not possible to download more than 3200 Tweets from a user s timeline. Once the initial 3200 Tweets are downloaded the number of Tweets is only limited by the memory of your device. Archived users can be updated at any time and new Tweets for the selected user is automatically added to the selected users archive 1

7 Home Screen The home screen displays the users that have been archived. Update users Label search Publish/Print/Export Add users Delete Users Functions It allows the user to: 1. Add new users 2. Update selected existing users 3. Publish/Print/Export the contents of selected users 4. Search for Tweets that have been labelled for selected users 5. Delete selected users from the archive 6. Long press on the user profile will provide the user with the selected accounts profile information. 2

8 1. User Profile The User Profile screen rovides a summary of the selected user s profile. To get to the User Profile screen 1. Long press on the user profile will provide the user with the selected accounts profile information 1. The user will be provided with the selected users profile data. 3

9 2. New User The Add User Screen allows the user to add Twitter account holders to their archive. Add User To get to the New User screen 1. Select NEW on Home Screen 1. The user will be required to enter their search term. 2. The user will be presented with a number of options that fit the search term. 3. The user can select the Twitter user account based on the profiles provided once the search is completed. 4. A preview of the selected users Tweets will be shown. 5. The user will be given the opportunity to either add the user to their archive or cancel and resume searching for other Twitter account holders. Function 1. Adds new users to archive 4

10 3. Update User Screen The Update User Screen allows the user to update the archives of existing Twitter account holders to their archive. Select All Update Users Select User To get to the Update User Screen screen 1. Select account(s) to be updated on Home Screen 2. Select UPD button on Home Screen 3. Pressing the BACK key, after the update is completed, will take the user back to the Home Screen. Functions 1. TweetNEST will automatically download Tweets that the selected account(s) have made since the last update was completed and add them to the existing archive(s) for the selected user(s). 2. TweetNEST will display the new Tweets for each of the selected users. 5

11 4. Label Search Screen This Label Search Screen screen allows the user to search for Tweets that have been labelled for selected users. Label To get to Label Search Screen the screen 1. Select account(s) to be searched on Home Screen 2. Select LAB button 1. Select required labels from the list of existing labels displayed. Functions 1. Searches selected accounts for selected labels that have been attached to Tweets by the TweetNEST user. 2. Displays Tweets according to their labels for all selected accounts. 6

12 5. Publish This Publish Tweets Screen allows the user to Publish/Print/Export the contents of selected accounts. TEXT URL Publish Label To get to the Publish Tweets Screen screen 1. Select account(s) to be Publish/Print/Export on Home Screen 2. Select PUB button 1. The user will be presented with a number of options. a. Select the labels (for the selected users) of the Tweets that you wish to Publish/Print/Export b. Select which elements (hash-tags, usernames, text, URLs and Labels) of the Tweets to be Publish/Print/Export for the selected users and/or labelled Tweets. And then, c. Select the option to export the selected elements to a CSV file that can be imported into various spread sheet software (e.g. Excel) d. Select the option to export the selected elements to a text document - that can be imported into various text software (e.g. MS Word) e. Select one of the URLs provide that take you to a number of text content analysis websites: WordItOut TextAlyser 7

The selected elements of the Tweets to be Published/Printed/Exported for the selected users and/or labelled Tweets will be automatically copied to the clipboard and the user will be taken to the selected website where they can paste in the selected items and perform the analysis provided by the site operators. 3. The user can copy the selected elements to the clipboard for use elsewhere Functions 1. Filters Tweets of selected users according to the user s choices in any combination of the following: a. Account b. Labels c. Hash-tags d. Usernames e. Text f. URLs 2. Allows the user to Publish/Print/Export the selected elements to: a. A CSV formatted file b. A text document c. To the clipboard d. Automatically copy selected elements to the clipboard and links to text content analysis websites 8

14 6. Delete User The Delete User Screen allows the user to delete selected accounts from the archive. Delete Users 1. Select account(s) to be deleted and select DEL Function 1. The selected accounts will be removed from the archive. 9

15 7. Users Tweets The Users Tweets Search Screen displays the Tweets of the selected user. Select URL Word Search Select # Label Search Label Tweet Page Number 1. Select a user by pressing the user profile on the Home Screen 2. Select a page by pressing the user page number at the bottom of the Home Screen Functions 1. Select in the text the user will be shown all Tweets for the selected account that contain the 2. 17 8. Users Tweets: #Hashtags The User Tweets displays the hash-tags used in the selected user account s archived Tweets. Search URL Order To get to the Users Tweets: URLs screen Select URL to display hash tags used in Tweets of the selected account. 1. Finds and displays the Tweets of the selected user that have been labelled with the selected labels 15

21 12. Users Tweets: Key Word The Users Tweets: Key Word Screen allows the user to search the Tweets of the selected user for Key Word(s). Key Word Search To get to the Users Tweets: Key Word screen Select to search the selected user s Tweets for Keywords. 1. Enter the Key Word(s) Function 1. Finds and displays the Tweets of the selected user that contain the Key Word(s) 16

22 13. Users Tweets: Label Tweet(s) The Users Tweets: Label Tweet(s) screen allows the user to apply Labels to selected Tweet(s). Label Tweet To get to the Users Tweets: Label Tweet screen Long press the TEXT in the Tweet to display Create New Label screen. 1. Create a new Label 2. Select an existing Label 3. Add Label to selected Tweet Function 1. Adds created or selected existing Labels to the selected Tweet 17

23 14. Final The Final screen provides full details (including Tweet metadata) relating to the selected Tweet, and provides for the functions detailed below. Preview/Add user to archive Open URL in Browser Select Tweet Hashtag Livefeed Share/ReTweet Copy to Clipboard Label Tweet To get to the Final screen Press the DATE in the Tweet to display the Final Screen Show Metadata 1. Select Label 2. Select Copy 3. Select Share Functions By pressing either the YELLOW (Date & Time) for the selected Tweet the user will be taken to the next screen which provides the following: 1. The full text of the selected Tweet 2. The opportunity to edit the Tweet 3. The opportunity to label the Tweet 4. The opportunity to copy the Tweet to the clipboard 5. The opportunity to share 6. A view of URLs included in the selected Tweet and the opportunity to open the URL in a browser of the users choice 18

Application Settings The Users Tweets: Search Screen Key Word Screen provides full details relating to the selected Tweet App Settings To get to the screen Select the Menu option on your device whilst on the Home Screen. Select Application Settings Settings that can be changed in the Application Setting Screen are: 1. Downloading Tweets Tweets per preview Number of sessions Tweets per session 2. Downloading Users Pages per user Users per page 3. Local Archive Tweets per page Function 1. Changes settings 20

26 16. Select Label to Edit/Delete Screen The Select Label to Edit/Delete Screen allows the user to edit or delete existing Labels. If Labels are deleted they will be removed from the associated Tweets. Edit Labels To get to the Select Label to Edit/Delete screen Select the Menu option on your device whilst on the Home Screen and select Label Operations 1. Select the Labels to be Edited or Deleted Functions 1. Edit and Delete existing labels 21

27 17. Database/Folder The Select Label to Edit/Delete Screen allows the user to edit or delete existing Labels. If Labels are deleted they will be removed from the associated Tweets Database Functions To get to the Database Screen Select the Menu option on your device whilst on the Home Screen and select Data-base 1. Backup archives 2. Export CSV 3. Name backup file 4. Manage TweetNEST files on SD card 5. Inspect TweetNEST internal folder 6. Load a new/old database 22
