2 Créé en 2012 par Philippe Delcroix et Chloé Béron, le Centre International des Arts en Mouvement a pour ambition d inscrire Aix-en-Provence dans les cités phares de la transmission des arts du cirque à tous les niveaux, et engagées auprès des artistes de son renouveau. Découverte, transmission, création, diffusion, le CIAM cultive et déploie ses différentes facettes dans un souci permanent de complémentarité et de partage. Il développe un équipement dédié à cette vocation sur le Domaine de la Molière. Il s agit en premier lieu d une réhabilitation des locaux existants et de la construction d un premier espace pédagogique adapté à l enseignement des arts du cirque. Le Centre International des Arts en Mouvement ouvrira ses portes au public en septembre 2013 lors d un grand événement labellisé Marseille Provence 2013, Jours [et nuits] de cirque(s), qui rassemblera les habitants d Aix, du Pays d Aix et des alentours autour des arts et architectures de cirque. Created in 2012 by Philippe Delcroix and Chloé Béron, driven by a profound desire of the city to develop a complete project about circus arts, the International Center for Arts in Motion (CIAM) aims to make Aix-en-Provence one of the leading cities in circus arts transmission at all levels, and a city committed with the artists of its renewal. Discovery, transmission, creation, dissemination, the CIAM cultivates and deploys its diversity with a constant concern for coordination and sharing. It is developping a dedicated equipment at the Domaine de la Molière, a 5 hectares area on the outskirts of Aix-en-Provence. It consists in both the restoration of the existing buildings and the construction on site of a first pedagogical space adapted to circus arts teaching. This circus tent made of wood and fabric is to be inaugurated in September 2013, during the major event Days [and nights] of circus which will be the opening event and starting point of the development of the CIAM. 2 /7

Chacun de ces axes contribue au développement de tout ou partie des axes complémentaires : les élèves de l école de pratique amateur bénéficient de la proximité des artistes en résidence, eux-mêmes pouvant profiter des moments forts de diffusion pour présenter leur travail, ou de la tenue d un workshop à destination des professionnels pour approfondir leur approche d une discipline. Le principal bénéficiaire de ces échanges est le public d Aix et du Pays d Aix, qui en plus de la mutualisation des coûts jouit d une large palette d activités et d opportunités de rencontres instructives. The International Center for Arts in Motion is designed along four mutually enriching working axes within a global approach. Each one of these axes contributes to develop all or part of the complementary axes: students from the circus school benefit from their proximity with artists in residencies, whom are able to make the most of special events to present their work, or workshops for professional audiences to deepen their approach of an artistic field. The primary beneficiary of these exchanges is the population of Aixen-Provence and the surrounding area, who enjoys a variety of activities and opportunities of quality meetings on top of cost mutualisation. 3 /7

4 II. Le site : Le Domaine de la Molière The place: the Domaine de la Molière Le domaine de la Molière est situé à l ouest d Aix-en- Provence, route de Galice, à 15 min du centre-ville. Le domaine est composé de deux entités : - en amont, un terrain en pente largement boisé qui accueille une surface bâti existante de 750m2 répartis sur deux bâtiments ; - en aval, une prairie dégagée qui borde le bas du terrain en pente. The Domaine de la Molière is located western of Aix-en- Provence, on the route de Galice, 15 minutes driving from the city centre. It is made of two entities: - on the upper part, a heavily treed sloping ground with a 750 square meters built up area composed of two buildings - on the lower part, a cleared meadow bounding the sloping part. Le Domaine de la Molière doit être réhabilité afin d accueillir les nouvelles activités du Centre International des Arts en Mouvement. Il s agit ainsi de mettre en place les conditions permettant l accueil de chapiteaux et des espaces de vie nomade associés, ainsi qu un aménagement paysager dessinant un cheminement clair et identifié du public lors des manifestations et dans l utilisation quotidienne. The Domaine de la Molière needs to be restored to be able to welcome the new activities of the International Center for Arts in Motion. The aim is to create the conditions to properly welcome circus tents and the associated living spaces for nomadic lifestyles, and to landscape creating clear and identified paths for the public during major events or daily use. 4 /7

Le Chapiteau Pédagogique - Un objet architectural comme outil pédagogique The Teaching Tent : an architectural object as an educational tool Le Centre International des Arts en Mouvement se dote d un chapiteau pédagogique semi-pérenne de toile et de bois, premier geste architectural de développement du Domaine de la Molière en tant que lieu de cirque. L intervention de Loic Julienne et Patrick Bouchain du cabinet B&H sur la conception du premier outil pédagogique vise à imposer un objet architectural fort qui marquera la volonté et le sens du développement du Centre International des Arts en Mouvement. Au-delà d un simple chapiteau, un symbole de l ouverture d un lieu. The International Center for Arts in Motion will be equipped with a semiperennial structure made of wood and fabric, first architectural gesture for the development of the Domaine de la Molière as a place for circus arts. Loic Julienne and Patrick Bouchain s intervention on the conception of the first educational tool of the CIAM aims to build a strong architectural object that will put the political will into a concrete action and show the vision for the International Center for Arts in Motion. Jours [et Nuits] de Cirque(s) - Septembre 2013 Days [and nights] of Circus - September 2013 Du 25 au 29 septembre 2013, le Centre International des Arts en Mouvement célèbre sa naissance par 5 jours [et nuits] de festivités autour des arts et architectures de cirque. Immergés au coeur d un village de cirque aux esthétiques et aux influences multiples, où les contenants sont mis au service des contenus, les spectateurs trouveront leur propre chemin pour apprécier les arts du cirque sous différentes facettes. A partir des valeurs sur lesquelles s est construit l imaginaire circassien, le CIAM bâtira une grande fête populaire où les rythmes et les couleurs qui imprègnent l acrobatie, le trapèze, le jonglage, la magie nouvelle ou le jeu clownesque contemporains seront le ciment d une célébration collective. Expositions, rencontres inédites, compagnies internationales, plusieurs dizaines d artistes, des soirées exceptionnelles et beaucoup de surprises feront de Jours [et nuits] de cirque(s) une formidable expérience pour toutes celles et tous ceux que le cirque étonne, inspire, émerveille, mais peut-être encore plus pour tous ceux pour qui il reste un univers à découvrir. From Sept. 25 to Sept. 29, 2013, the International Center for Arts in Motion is celebrating its birth with 5 days [and nights] of festivities around circus arts and architectures. Coproduction MP2013. Submerged in the midst of a circus village with multiples aesthetics and influences, where containers contributing to contents, spectators will find their own way through to appreciate the various aspects of circus arts. The CIAM will build a large popular event where rythms and colors that permeate contemporary acrobatics, trapeze, juggling, new magic or clowning will bring the elements for a collective happening. Exhibitions, unexpected encounters, international companies, dozens of artists, exceptional nights and lots of surprises will make Days [and nights] of Circus a tremendous experience for all those that circus surprise, inspire, amaze, but also, and maybe even more, for those whom it still is a whole universe to be discovered. 6 /7
