1 Imagerie Confocale Chromatique L imagerie confocale chromatique (Brevet STIL) ) a été inventée en 1995 et est reconnue mondialement comme une technique précise et fiable pour la mesure d épaisseur et de distance. Elle fait partie des rares techniques de métrologie 3D recommandée par la norme internationale ISO Configuration: Un objectif chromatique L projette l image d un point source W selon un continuum d images monochromatiques localisées sur l axe optique («codage chromatique»). Un échantillon placé dans cette zone de codage chromatique voit sa surface diffuser le pinceau de lumière incidente. La lumière retrodiffusée traverse l objectif chromatique L dans le sens inverse et arrive sur un trou P qui filtre toutes les longueurs d onde sauf une seule, λ M. La lumière collectée est analysée par un spectrographe S. La position de l échantillon est en relation directe avec la longueur d onde détectée λ M. Avantages: Haute résolution, Rapport signal à bruit élevé, Fonctionne avec tous types de matériaux, Large choix de gamme de mesure, Compatible avec des pentes locales importantes, Géométrie coaxial (pas d ombrage), Pas d effet Speckle.

2 Interférométrie Confocale Spectrale L interférométrie confocale spectrale (Brevet STIL déposé) est la technologie «dernier cri» qui combine le haut niveau de rapport signal à bruit de la configuration confocale avec l exceptionnelle précision et résolution de l interférométrie. Configuration: La lumière provenant d un point source W traverse rse un objectif interférométrique L et une surface de référence R avant d atteindre la surface de l échantillon. La superposition des pinceaux lumineux réfléchis par la surface de l échantillon et par la surface de référence génère un phénomène d interférence. Le pinceau réfléchi traverse l objectif interférométrique en sens inverse et arrive sur un trou P qui filtre tous les rayons sauf ceux provenant du point d origine M sur l objet O. Le spectrographe S mesure le spectre cannelé du signal d interférence. L épaisseur de l intervalle d air entre l échantillon et la surface de référence peut être extraite avec une résolution sub-nanométrique à partir de la détermination de la phase spectrale du signal d interférence. 3 STIL DUO The new sensor STIL DUO double technology, a new standard in the world of dimensional measurement. The sensor STIL DUO is the first system in the world that offers two simultaneous measurement technologies: the Confocal Chromatic and the White Light Spectral Interferometry with an original setup. By associating these two technologies (two STIL processes) the sensor STIL DUO creates a new standard in the world of dimensional measurement because it allows the user to get the very best out of these two operating principles: - STIL s Confocal Chromatic principle makes it possible to work with a large measurement scale going from 20μm to 25mm. This characteristic is perfect for rugosity and surface topography measurements, which give very high precision results on any type of material, be it reflective or diffusing. The measurement is in compliance with the new ISO standard. - STIL s Spectral Interferometry process gives access to sub-nanometric resolutions (<1 nm) for thickness and topography measurements that can be performed within a measurement scale larger than 100μm. Moreover, the minimum thickness of the samples can be lower than 1μm, and the measurements are insensitive to vibrations. The new sensor STIL DUO possesses the same qualities as any sensor from STIL s products range: it is perfectly fitted to the industrial environment and its interfacing is very easy, thanks to the many inputs and outputs and an offer including software development kits. Soon available, the sensor STIL TRIO will offer a third measurement technology enabling the colorimetric analysis. The combination of microspectrometry and microtopography will at last make true color 3D metrology available.

4 Non-contact «point» sensors Advantages - Vibration insensitive, - High signal to noise ratio, - No vertical scanning required, - Minimum measurable thickness less than 1μm, - Subnanometric resolution inherent to the optical principle, For applications requiring the advantages of both Confocal Chromatic and Spectral interferometric sensors, STIL has developed the DUO controller. This device integrates these two measurement methods allowing the user to switch instantaneously from one technique to the other. The TRIO controller offers a third measurement technology in the same cabinet which allows colorimetric analysis.

5 Interferometric optical pens (1) The measuring range depends on the controller type. (2) The resolution and accuracy are given in Distance mode. These values vary with the refractive index. (3) For specular (perfectly reflecting) samples. For diffusive objects the maximum object slope can reach 87. (4) The reference plate acts as an absolute reference in the measuring field. It compensates for the mechanical imperfections of the scanning system. (5) The values are given for transparent samples of 1,5 refractive index value.
