[ NAVIRE INFETÉ Londres : Renseignements complémentaires sur la variole à bord du vapeur «M o o l t a n» (voir R E.H 119) Le navire avait quitté Sydney le 15 février 1949 et avait touché a olombo le 7 mars et a Bombay du 10 au 14 mars A la date présumée de contamination le navire se trouvait à Bombay où le passager décédé était allé à terre. Le navire toucha ensuite à Aden le 17 mars, a Port-Saïd le 18 et a Marseille le passagers quittèrent le navire a Marseille le 25 mars à destination de pays du continent Leurs noms et adiesses ont été signalés aux Autorités sanitaires des pays intéressés. INFETED VESSEL London : Supplementary information regarding smallpox on board S.S Mooltan (see R E.H. 119): The vessel left Sydney on 15 February 1949, calling at olombo on 7 March, and at Bombay between 10 and 14 March. At the conjectured date of infection the vessel was at Bombay where the deceased passenger had gone on shore. The vessel also called at Aden on 17 March, a t Port Said on 18 March, and a t Marseilles on 25 March. 80 passengers left the vessel a t Marseilles on 25 March for destinations on the ontinent Their names and addresses have been notified to the H ealth Authorities ot the countries concerned.

L ÉPIDÉMIE DE VARIOLE DE 1948 A L ILE MINDORO (PHILIPPINES) Aux Philippines, qui sont normalement indemnes de variole et ou la dernière épidémie enregistrée remonte à 1929/30, un foyer s'est déclaré dans l'ile de Mmdoro entre avril et décembre 1948 Le premier cas se produisit le 5 avril 1948 dans la ville de Pinam alayan, le dernier cas le 16 décembre dans la ville de Mansalay. Il y a eu au total 282 cas avec 103 décès, répartis comme suit par villes et villages. Pendant cette épidémie, le Service de la Santé, aidé par celui des E tats-u n is, a mené une campagne de vaccination intensive per- EPIDEMI OF SMALLPOX IN 1948 ON THE ISLAND OF MINDORO (PHILIPPINES) In the Philippines, which are normally free from smallpox and where the last recorded epidemic dated back to 1929/30, an outbreak occurred in the island of Mindoro between April and December The first case occurred on 5 April 1948 in the town of Pinamalayan and the last on 16 December m the town of Mansalay.
