4 Current flaring and utilization of gas in Congo Torchage & Utilisation actuels du gaz au Congo Historically, associated gas produced from the onshore and offshore fields generally has been flared, reinjected in the oilfields for the pressure maintenance or used to generate electricity on oil and mining sites. 7 Integrated Project Projet Intégré In 2007, the Congo has signed an MoU with eni Congo for the realization of an Integrated Project aimed at the utilization of associated gas from the M Boundi field, that was flared by that time. En 2007, le Congo a signé un protocole d Accord avec Eni Congo pour la réalisation d un Projet Intégré dans le but d utiliser le gaz associé du champ de M Boundi, qui était jusque-là brûlé

8 Integrated Project Projet Intégré The Integrated Project includes :/Le Projet Intégré comprend: Construction of the Djeno power plant (25 MW x2) initially supplied by Kitina associated gas, then by M Boundi associated gas. Construction de la centrale à gaz de Djeno (25 MW X2) alimentée initialement par le gaz associé de Kitina, puis par celui de M Boundi. Construction of a new 300 MW Integrated Power Plant. Construction d une nouvelle centrale à gaz intégrée de 300 MW. Gas Gathering facilities, including a 55 Km gas 16 pipeline from the M Boundi field. Construction des installations de collecte, de conditionnement et de transport de gaz du champ de M Boundi à la centrale à gaz à travers un pipe de 16 d une longueur de 55Km

12 Perspectives Perspectives Presently, around 1,000,000 Sm3 per day of associated gas coming from the M Boundi field are being utilized by the CED and the IPP, the remaining gas being flared. A présent, environ Sm3/j de gaz associé provenant du champ de M Boundi sont utilisés par la CED et la CEC. Le gaz restant est brûlé. By early 2013, the M Boundi compression/injection project will be completed, thus achieving a zero flaring in the field. 14 Perspectives Perspectives In the offshore, zero flaring has already been reached in some fields, such as the ENI Congo operated Kitina and Awa Paloukou fields. Other projects are ongoing and/or under study in the remaining producing fields in order to comply with the existing regulations. En offshore, le torchage zéro a déjà été atteint sur certains champs. On peut citer en exemple les champs de Kitina et Awa-Paloukou opérés par ENI Congo

16 Perspectives Perspectives Work in process gas installations on NKossa to recover more LPG and increase reinjection gas from 11.5 MMSm3 per day to 13.5 MM Sm3 per day in the oilfields. Travaux sur les installations de process du gaz de Nkossa pour récupérer plus de GPL et augmenter la réinjection de gaz de 11,5 MMSm3/j à 13,5 MM Sm3/j dans les gisements

17 Perspectives Perspectives Other projects of utilization and development of gas are under study : construction of LPG plant in M Boundi, supplying mining companies with gas (to supply electricity and the function of the process), increase of CEC power plant, fertilizer plant, etc. D autres projets d utilisation et de valorisation sont à l étude : construction d une unité de production des GPL à M Boundi, approvisionnement de l industrie minière en gaz (pour la génération de l électricité et le fonctionnement du process), doublement de la CEC, unité de fabrication des engrais, etc
