This unique programme was developed by two major players in the field of management academics in Brazil and France, the EA-UFRGS, Universidad Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre and the ESC Group in Troyes. Brazil is a leading economic player making a place for itself in the framework of international relations. With 7 members and 450 million inhabitants, Europe is a privileged partner on the worldwide market. This specialized MBA provides high-level training with a view to preparing participants for key positions in International Management, with a focus on European/South American relations, two areas whose complementariness is to be seen in the context of the world's great regional powers. Les objectifs du MBA : L objectif du programme est de former des cadres de haut niveau à une culture d affaires et à des fonctions en management centrées sur des problématiques posées dans le cadre de relations spécifiques entre l Europe et l Amérique du Sud. Il s agit d acquérir des connaissances macroéconomiques et géopolitiques, ainsi que des compétences spécifiques en gestion, tout en développant une capacité d immersion et d adaptation. Les principes du MBA : Le programme MBA offre un parcours universitaire et professionnel international, intégralement en anglais, de à 8 mois comprenant : un semestre de formation à l Ecole d Administration de l UFRGS de Porto Alegre Brésil, un semestre de formation au Groupe ESC Troyes France, puis une expérience professionnelle en stage, de 4 à 8 mois effectuée idéalement dans un pays européen ou sud-américain. The MBA objectives: The programme is designed to train high-ranking executives in corporate culture and to prepare them for management positions that concentrate on business issues arising from the specificities of relations between Europe and South America. With a focus on macro economics and geopolitics, participants work to develop specific management skills whilst cultivating a talent for adapting and integrating in another culture. The MBA principles: The MBA programme offers an international academic curriculum delivered wholly in English that varies between and 8 months, including one semester of classes at the UFRGS Ecole d Administration in Porto Alegre Brazil, followed by one semester at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Troyes France, and culminating in a professional internship of 4 to 8 months, preferably in a European or South American country. The MBA diploma is granted jointly by the two establishments. Developed jointly by the two partner institutions, the MBA programme comprises two main series of modules dedicated primarily to macro economics. The subject matter is closely related to the specificity of each continent. A language module is designed to help initiate the participants in the French and Portuguese languages. This module is subject to evaluation but is not taken into account in the programme credits. Tous les cours sans exception se font en langue anglaise dans les deux institutions. Le stage et la thèse professionnelle : Le stage se déroule en priorité dans un pays européen ou sud-américain. Il doit revêtir de façon obligatoire un objectif professionnel à travers une mission portant sur la résolution d un problème réel proposé par une entreprise. Période charnière, la mission en entreprise, d une durée de 4 à 8 mois, permet de mettre en pratique les méthodes, techniques et approches étudiées durant la première période du MBA. La validation des études : Un système de validation par capitalisation de crédits La validation de l année est sanctionnée par la capitalisation de 60 crédits, composée de 3 crédits pour la partie académique et 8 crédits pour le stage et la thèse professionnelle. Tant à Porto Alegre qu à Troyes, chaque module fait l objet d un contrôle de connaissances, travail ou rapport écrit ou oral, individuel ou collectif. L appréciation du travail réalisé fait l objet de trois évaluations : une appréciation de l entreprise, de la qualité du travail écrit et de la soutenance orale. All classes are given by lecturers with in-depth knowledge of the cultures of the two continents. Internship and thesis: Preferably based in a European or South American country, the internship must translate a professional objective and focus on resolving concrete issues encountered by a company. The in-company internship is a watershed period, from 4 to 8 months, that allows participants to put into practice the methods, techniques and approaches studied during the first part of the MBA. The professional thesis (otherwise known as monografia in Brazil) is therefore not a simple review of the internship but a theoretical and practical reflection on an issue encountered in the company during the internship. Performance evaluation: The performance of participants is evaluated through a system of credits. The programme is based on a total of 60 credits, broken down into 3 credits for the academic part and 8 credits for the internship and professional thesis. The final evaluation for each module in both Porto Alegre and Troyes is in the form of written or oral individual group examination, report or project. The work of each participant is assessed in three ways: an evaluation from the company, an assessment of all written work and a viva voce examination. 4-5

7 Les conditions d admission : Les candidats doivent être détenteurs d un diplôme de niveau bac+5, ou bac+4 sur dérogation. L admission se déroule par voie de concours, organisée de façon conjointe dans les deux établissements. Les candidats dont le dossier est pré-sélectionné devront passer des entretiens oraux en langue anglaise. Les frais d études : Les frais d inscription et de scolarité sont à régler à l école de rattachement. Ils s élèvent à euros pour l année académique (hors frais de transport et frais de séjour dans les deux institutions.) Les étudiants devront obligatoirement souscrire une assurance et obtenir un visa. Candidates with a baccalaureate and 4 years university training may be admitted upon exception. Admission is based on competitive examination, organised jointly in the two establishments. Following pre-selection based on examination, candidates take an oral exam in English. Tuition: Registration and tuition fees are to be paid to the school of registration. The total fee is 8,900 euros for the academic year. Additional expenses for transport and accommodation are to be taken into account for both institutions.
