1 Daycare In Québec, we are lucky to have access to government subsidized day care spots available in the Early Childhood Education Centres Centres de la Petite Enfance (CPE). There are also other daycare centres and services that are not government subsidized Wait lists can be very long and it is advisable, if possible, to begin your search for the ideal daycare situation up to a year before you will actually need it. By registering your child on a wait list, you increase the chance that you will actually get the spot in the daycare of your choice. BILA BILA (Bureau d'inscription sur une Liste d'attente) is a centralized waiting list for Early Childhood Education Centres (CPE). Many of the CPE use this system but not all. There are some centres that use their own system for wait lists so be sure to contact directly any centre that you may wish to use. Be aware that only centres with subsidized openings are supported by BILA. 3 Coordinating Offices To find in-home daycare spots which are government subsidized ($7/day), clic on the link Places disponibles. They will also send you via a list of childcare providers in your area. From there, you call the daycare directly to schedule an appointment. Simply search by Postal Code to find the daycares closest to you or your work. Once you have made your selection, phone the daycare directly to interview potential daycare providers or to register for an available spot. Some in-home daycare service providers with government subsidized spots at $7/day will advertise their availability on this very popular site.
