2 The Central Problem To create this program, it is important to: Have the best tools available Gather partners to enable good results The concertation (alignment) and the partnership are at the beginning of every step of the program.

3 Definition of alignment Structured and continuous relationships between relevant workers who agree to share information, to discuss specific issues in order to accept similar objectives and actions that can enable a partnership or not. (Bourque, 2008, p.5).

4 Definition of Partnership A contractual involvement to share responsibilities, put in common resources and to divide tasks according to a discussed agreement. (Bourque, 2008, p.6)

9 Motivations Make sure there is a need for this kind of program in your milieu and organization. Make sure there is a willingness to participate in this kind of program Make sure the program can be included in organization s mission Make sure relevant workers understand the program and its philosophy

10 Relationship between Partners Create a lead committee (quickly) Target partners who are concerned with the cause, have skills and knowledge that complement each other and have the power to take decisions in their organization Take time to get to know each other and to know each other s capabilities and discuss with partners their definition of alignment and partnership Use efficient communication tools

11 Setting Up: Expectations, Power, Planning, Leadership (1) Define together the individual and common expectations Define together the processes and how the decisions will be taken Make sure there is a formal commitment from all the partners Define together the expected results of the program

Make sure everybody understands. Appoint a person who will follow up with all partners work. Appoint a person who will coordinate the meetings of the leading committee and who will make sure that communication is constant

13 Setting Up: Expectations, Power, Planning, Leadership (3) Make sure that people in your organization who work on the program are motivated Make sure that the relevant workers agree with the program philosophy Hire relevant workers who have experience with people who have memory problems.

14 Alignment and Partnership follow up Capacity for adaptation Evaluate the objectives and the results that have been achieved during and after the program Evaluate the commitment of the partners during and after the program Evaluate the impacts of the program Evaluate together if it is pertinent to maintain the program
