Teacher s note: We have prepared a teaching resource with a large variety of activities all about the weather in French, for primary school teachers who can refresh their own vocabulary if needed and for use with your pupils as well. We recommend to introduce the pupils to the weather mascot Fripouille la grenouille (the naughty frog) and include day after day one expression in French about the weather in your daily class room routine so that it becomes quite natural for the children to speak in French about the weather. 6 Ask the other children remaining to hide an object in the classroom. Let the child outside come in. He/she move within the classroom to find out where the object is. The other children are only allowed to say chaud if the child is going in the right direction and coming closer to the object or froid if he/she going far away from the object. Activité 2 : On joue! Cut out the cards. Build up teams. Each member of the team competes with the others. On the table, there are 4 cards with weather pictures on it. The leader shouts out what the weather is like. The player of each teams runs to the front and must be the quickest to pick up the right card. The team with the maximum number of points wins. Each player draws 3 cards and has to match pairs up by asking: Player 1 (has the picture of windy weather in hand) asks in French: Il fait quel temps chez toi? Est-ce qu il y a du vent? Player 2 (has the picture in hand «il y a du vent): Oui, il y a du vent (Player 2 gives the correct card to player 1). If player 2 doesn t have the card, he/she just says Non. Activité 6 : La roue du temps Fais un cercle sur une feuille de papier. Sépare le cercle en 6 quarts.
