1 All you want to know about Le Tour de France - 1 The most difficult and most famous bicycle race in the world, the Tour de France features the very best cyclists. The Tour is held each year in July. It lasts for three weeks and includes only 2 rest days for the riders (les coureurs) Find out the exact dates of this year s Tour Not just any cyclist can compete in this race; you need to be fit, fast and strong and you have to be invited to join one of the many teams (les équipes) who try every year to win this great event. 2 The route changes every year, going clockwise one year and anti-clockwise the next. The total distance is about 3,600 kilometres.
