RETROFIT FIXTURE INSTALLATION NOTE: Consult your local authority regarding disposal or recycling of removed ballast, capacitor and lamp. 1. Disconnect power to fixture. 2. Verify the existing luminaire model. See Figure 1. FIGURE 4 FIGURE 1 3. Loosen the bolts securing the glass globe to the housing and separate the globe from the housing by carefully lifting it straight up over the lamp. See Figure 2. 6. Remove existing ballast, capacitor, igniter and mounting plate from the Light Engine Assembly Casting and dispose of properly. See Figure 5. NOTE: Save (2) of the large removed screws for mounting the Retrofit Assembly. FIGURE 5 FIGURE 2 4. Loosen the thumb screws and set screws that secure the ballast assembly casting to the housing. See Figure 3. FIGURE 3 7. Remove the Lamp and Lamp Socket from the Light Engine Assembly Casting removing the screws securing it to the casting. After the screws are removed, remove the Lamp and Lamp Socket and dispose of properly. See Figure 6. FIGURE 6 5. Separate the light engine assembly casting from the housing. Disconnect the wire harnesses the Lamp Socket Wires, the Photocell wires, if present, and any other wire connections. See Figure 4. 8. The glass refractor is optional in this model. To remove the refractor, remove the thumb screws securing it to the Light Engine Assembly Casting See FIGURE 7. Page 2 of 5
FIGURE 7 FIGURE 9 9. To attach the LED Module Assembly, turn the Light Engine Assembly Casting over to locate the screw hole pattern. NOTE: Depending on the model, the pattern may vary slightly. See Figure 8. FIGURE 8 13. To prepare the LED Module Assembly, turn over so it is standing up on the heatsink with the Threaded Nipple point up. Place the supplied rotation stop and nylon washer over the Threaded Nipple as shown in Figure 10 and 11. FIGURE 10 10. CAUTION: WHEN HANDLING LEDS DO NOT CUT PROTECTIVE WRAP AVOID TOUCHING OPTICS INSTALL KIT IN FIXTURE THEN REMOVE PROTECTIVE WRAP BEFORE ENERGIZING 11. Carefully remove the red plastic protective wrap form the LEDs by peeling it back by the label and avoid touching the LEDs FIGURE 8 FIGURE 11 12. Place the LED Driver Assembly on to the Light Engine Assembly Casting over the selected screw hole pattern and secure with the screws removed in Step. 6. See Figure 9. 14. Lower the attached LED Driver Assembly and Light Engine Assembly Casting over the Threaded Nipple as shown in Figure 12. Page 3 of 5
FIGURE 12 17. See the Electrical Connections sections to wire the luminaire. 18. Once electrical connections are made, insert the Retrofit LED driver Assembly in to the existing housing as shown in Figure 14. FIGURE 14 15. Using the supplied Beveled Washer and Nut, secure the Retrofit Assembly to the Light Engine Assembly Casting as shown in Figure 12. FIGURE 12 NOTE: If existing fixture has a NEMA Receptacle, take care when lowering the LED Driver Assembly down into the housing. To fit properly, the LED Driver must face away from the NEMA Receptacle. See Figure 15 FIGURE 15 16. Connect the wire harness coming from the threaded nipple of LED Driver Assembly to the wire harness coming from the terminal block. See Figure 13. FIGURE 13 19. After Retrofit is in place, re-tighten the thumb screws and set screws that were loosened in Step 4. 20. Carefully replace the globe over the Retrofit Assembly and re-tighten the bolts that were loosened in Step 3. 21. Reconnect power to the fixture. Page 4 of 5
