Afin d améliorer les opérations de sauvegarde et restore du disque OpenDrive sur VP200 et VP400 (PC imprimante disposant d un graveur de CD), de nouveaux outils sont disponibles. Ils corrigent certains problèmes aléatoires soulevés lors de la création et restitution de l image du disque. Il est donc impératif de les utiliser en lieux et place des outils actuels en les installant sur le disque à sauvegarder et en créant la première sauvegarde à partir du CD outillage contenant ces nouveaux outils comme expliqué ci-après. Plusieurs phases sont nécessaires à la mise en place des nouveaux outils : - D abord, la récupération depuis le serveur BBS et la création d un CD outillage. - Installation à partir du CD outillage des nouveaux outils sur le PC de l imprimante. - Création d une sauvegarde du PC en bootant sur ce CD outillage. 1. Récupération Un fichier image nommé CDTOOLS.ISO se trouve sur la BBS dans le forum OpenDrive tools. Après téléchargement, le graver sur un CDROM : Attention, utiliser le mode de gravure approprié, c est-à-dire graver une image (le fichier CDTOOLS.ISO) sur un CDROM. 2. Installation des outils Sur l imprimante : Insérer le CDROM Passer sur l écran alphanumérique Ctrl + Alt + F1 Se logguer en root, mot de passe mach (VP200) ou vary (VP400) A l invite de commande, taper les commandes suivantes : mount r /dev/cd0 /mnt /mnt/install Une fois l installation finie, taper : umount /mnt Retirer le CDROM. 3. Créer un CD image du PC Mettre sous tension la machine. Aller dans le Setup Appuyer sur la touche [Suppr] ou [Del.] dès que possible (ne pas hésiter à appuyer plusieurs fois) insérer le CD outillage dans le lecteur sélectionner le menu : Advanced BIOS Features dans le champ : First Boot Device choisir CDROM dans le champ : Third Boot Device choisir HDD 0 Quitter le menu par la touche [Echap] Sauvegarder les informations en quittant le Setup [F10] [Entrée] Lorsque Boot: s affiche à l écran, appuyer sur la touche [Entrée] Attendre quelques minutes l affichage du menu suivant : RESTORE/SAVE PROCEDURE ( V4.2 ) s Save c Create CD r Restore h Halt, shutdown the system Enter an option s [Entrée] Le menu suivant s affiche : OpenDrive Save Tool Improvement Page 4

Please wait, this can take a long time... Attention : Cette opération est longue et durant l opération d enregistrement sur le CD, seule la led sur le graveur de CD indique une activité du système. Operation finished Please remove any floppy or CD from drive And press <RETURN> to reboot or q to quit : Retirer le CD du lecteur [Entrée]. Aller dans le Setup du PC Appuyer sur la touche [Suppr] ou [Del.] dès que possible (ne pas hésiter à appuyer plusieurs fois) sélectionner le menu : Advanced BIOS Features dans le champ : First Boot Device choisir HDD 0 dans le champ : Third Boot Device choisir CDROM Quitter le menu par la touche [Echap] Sauvegarder les informations en quittant le Setup [F10] [Entrée] Laisser rebooter le PC. On obtient une image à jour du disque de l imprimante. Elle contient les nouveaux outils. These new tools solve some random problems which can appear when creating and restoring a disk image. It is mandatory to use these new tools instead of the actual ones by installing first them on the disk to save and by creating the first backup image from the CD tools as described hereafter. The installation will be made in three steps: - First, download the soft from the BBS and create the CDROM. - Then, use this CDROM to install the tools. - Create the first backup including the tools. 1. Download One Image file named CDTOOLS.ISO is on the BBS under OpenDrive tools forum.. Download it, then burn it to a CDROM : Attention, use the convenient burning mode, that means burn an image (CDTOOLS.ISO file) on CDROM. Example with Nero : OpenDrive Save Tool Improvement Page 7

2. Tools installation On printer : Insert CDROM Go to aphanumerical screen Ctrl + Alt + F1 Log as root, password mach (VP200) or vary (VP400) Type the following commands : mount r /dev/cd0 /mnt /mnt/install After installation is finished type : umount /mnt Remove CDROM. 3. Creation of image CD Switch on the printer. Go to Setup of PC Press the [Del.] key as soon as possible (do not hesitate to press several times) select menu: Advanced BIOS Features in field: First Boot Device choose HDD 0 in field: Third Boot Device choose CDROM Quit menu by key [Echap] Save the information and quit Setup [F10] [Enter] Let reboot the PC. An up to date image of your printer disk has been made. It contains the new tools.
