Unfortunately, just because something is open source, it doesn t mean or guarantee that it doesn t infringe on others patents. An open standard is different from being royalty free or open source. 23 Tous les codecs vidéo sont couverts par des brevets. Un groupe de brevets [patent pool] est en train d être assemblé pour poursuivre Theora et d autres codecs «open source» maintenant. Malheureusement, juste parce que quelque chose est open source, ne signifie ou ne garantit pas qu il n enfreint pas les brevets des autres.
